Chapter 1: Omg they ran away

Chapter Text

Ruin stared at Puppet before his eyes quickly darted over to BloodMoon as he watched the shorter animatronic taunt Puppet, her hair was still bright white- an indication of their power -yet BloodMoon knew this.

“Kill me, you COWARD!”

As BloodMoon continued to yell, Ruin’s mind only continued to race through several thoughts and questions, he looked back at Puppet. This time she looked back at him, almost answering his questions.

“Do it, Eclipse.”

Though their mouth didn’t move, Ruin could hear it at the front of his mind…

Taking one last look at Puppet, Ruin grabbed BloodMoon.

And he ran.

BloodMoon stumbled behind Ruin, clearly struggling as he was caught off guard by the sudden grab.

Ruin only managed one look behind them, Earth and Puppet remained still, neither of them making a move to stop them- to stop him -though Earth looked startled, Puppet only stared blankly as if she’d seen this coming even though Ruin himself hadn’t.

This was foolish.

Extremely foolish! What was he doing?!

BloodMoon struggled behind Ruin, what was happening?!

His eyes that had been solely focused on the threat in front of him, the threat he NEEDED to face, were now trying to focus on the animatronic behind him.

He was suddenly dragged back by his arm, quickly pulled into a run away from the fight he so desperately needed. He had to die today. But instead he was stumbling behind Ruin in a fallen hall.

“What? WHAT?!” He yelled as he tried to look back at Puppet, try to get back to the fight, but his body wouldn’t budge. His hand held onto Ruin’s arm tightly and wouldn’t let go. It didn’t feel like his own actions…it felt more like…

Ruin didn’t turn back after that, not even to get a good look at BloodMoon as he dragged him along. He just kept running and running, hardly hearing much noise besides their own footsteps and heavy breathing as they found their way out of the temple and back into the trees. Even in the darkness Ruin still struggled to get his legs to stop, part of him knew it was safe. That Puppet wouldn’t bother to come find them despite everything. Yet the more logical part of him knew the entire celestial family had a good reason to hunt both of them down.

As Ruin finally slowed down a few meters into the woods, BloodMoon stumbled on the uneven ground and caused the two to stumble onto the ground.

Though BloodMoon landed on his knees, leaving only scratches, Ruin had managed to land on his right leg, leaving it heavily dented.

“What did you do, Ruin??” BloodMoon grumbled as he got back up and finally took in their surroundings. Judging by the scratches on nearby trees, they couldn’t be too far from the path they’d taken to the temple to begin with.

“…I’m not sure.” Ruin quietly managed as he struggled to get up, only finding the dirt around him to hold onto. What happened to his leg..? He can hardly feel it.

“WHAT DID YOU DO?!” BloodMoon’s voice rang out along the woods as he nearly threw himself over Ruin, his hands struggling to find a place on Ruin to hold onto as he desperately wanted to find answers from the mismatched animatronic. “What did… what did you do…” His voice and hands grew shaky as they wrapped around Ruin’s neck.

-

...This is kind of stupid right? …Crimson?” Nightfall muttered to him as they quietly walked around the woods. Simply listening to the rustling of leaves and the loud chirping of crickets they could never manage to quiet.

“..What, Ruin is?” Their chest heaved as he laughed, only earning a small chuckle from his twin. Clearly noting Crimson hadn’t actually been paying attention to him.

That we’re doing this…we’re probably not even the.. real BloodMoon.

The real BloodMoon…? If it felt like they were BloodMoon, how couldn’t they be? Crimson remained quiet as they continued venturing deeper and deeper seeing what they could find.

“We should both be dead.. I think it’s cool that we aren’t.” Nightfall quietly hummed, the hum ringing throughout their head as they walked. He was hardly paying attention again. His twin always spoke about stupid things, but this one had been bothering him a lot more than usual lately. The idea that they weren’t real. That maybe there was a real him and a real them that was long gone. Like they should be dead… and that the originals should be here… It was always quiet in this part of the woods… he could only wonder if Nightfall was right… but he had to be wrong. So it doesn’t matter.

Yet, his voice always managed to be the loudest in his head.

-

“We’re dead... WHY DID YOU RUIN THAT?!”

Ruin wasn’t sure himself, his mind just told him to. Maybe for a moment… he’d thought BloodMoon was… him. He wish he could’ve done something for him then… but he could try to save BloodMoon now. Even with no plan, with no help, with no ideas, with an injured leg, alone in a forest…

His eyelids felt heavy. “BloodMoon… we.. we can do more alive.”

His hand tightened around Ruin’s neck, yet Ruin felt no discomfort. BloodMoon’s hand we’re uncertain, his body was shaking. He wouldn’t die to him… not today.

BloodMoon threw Ruin back to the ground, a heavy breath leaving his body as he landed onto his back on the cluttered ground.

“You’re pathetic, Ruin! We face death, we don’t run. Not like cowards, not like you.” He hissed as he turned around, looking around to try to find his way back.

“THERE’S NO WE BLOODMOON! HE’S DEAD, IT’S JUST YOU AND YOU’RE BEING FOOLISH!” Ruin leaned on his good leg, stumbling to get up before BloodMoon turned back around and walked up to face him directly.

“THERE WAS A WE, THERE WILL BE A WE! BUT BECAUSE YOU BROUGHT US BACK FOR YOUR SELFISH FUCKING NEEDS, HE’S DEAD, RUIN!”

Ruin firmly stared back at the other animatronic despite his body struggling to stay up. BloodMoon hissed, baring his teeth despite Ruin struggling to see anything but his glowing eyes.

Your plan went wrong, but you blame us. You’re an idiot, Ruin.”

“I’m aware… you weren’t supposed to be a part of this. Not you or… your other. You were just… supposed to be a distraction. I didn’t mean for… him to die.”

“..I don’t care.”  BloodMoon muttered as he walked away from him to lean against a tree.

-

…do you really think Ruin just brought us back to be annoying?

-

“..what’s the real reason you brought us back, did you just think this was fucking funny?”

Ruin was quiet for a moment, still lying on the dirt as he recalled finding out about the red animatronic… he was erratic, nothing about him made sense… he loved to talk and talk to whoever he could hear in that head of his…

A beautiful red…

But he didn’t have the parts for the original BloodMoon, he didn’t have the colors, nor the time, much less a proper idea of how his duality worked… so a knock off would have to do. If he had more time… then maybe…

But BloodMoon had to be made quickly. He had been seen too quickly and he needed a distraction to keep Sun and Moon away as soon as possible.

“I… think I just…wanted to know who BloodMoon was.. I’ve never even heard of someone like you… two.” For years, he hadn’t seen… people care… much less work together. Call BloodMoon selfish or insane… but Ruin admired how much the two worked together. He hadn’t seen anything like it in… so so long. There was no Sun, no Moon as united as the two. No…

“You’re.. fucking stupid..” BloodMoon remained quiet afterwards. Ruin didn’t move, didn’t speak.

-

Do you think we could kill Ruin? He’s probably not as stupid as he acts..” Nightfall muttered as he moved his bishop.

“You think you could beat em?” He grumbled before managing to move his own pawn.

No. Neither of us know how to play chess. But he probably does.” He moved his bishop again, the same move he’d been making for the past few minutes, just moving it from one side of the board to the other with nothing but hope it’d do something.

“..It’s an easy win if you ask me.” Crimson hissed in response before throwing the pieces of the board onto the dirty floor littered with glass, adding to the mess of it all before attempting to stand up. BloodMoon was still.

Crimson wanted to get up, Nightfall didn’t.

That’s not how we’ll get out of this.

-

BloodMoon opened his eyes, the warm light of the sun hitting him directly as it peeked over the trees. The woods were quiet in the morning, it was nice… if his other were here… maybe the light wouldn’t hurt his eyes so much…

Ruin was still there, thrown on the grass, he looked almost dead.

He quietly crawled over, his already tattered clothes getting more dirtied as he made his way over Ruin.

His other would know what to do right now.

-

Monty…

Ruin finally stirred, his eyes opening up as his system slowly started up again. The events from yesterday clearly having left his body damaged as he was unable to sit up properly. He struggled to lean on his arms, surprised as he felt hardwood under his hands.

He tried to look around, his vision taking a moment to focus before he can finally take in his surroundings. His guess would be a cabin… every wall made of wood along with the floor and ceiling.

He turned at the sound of footsteps, looking up to see BloodMoon a deranged mess with tired eyes.

“What’s the plan, Ruin?”

“I.. don’t have one.” He still couldn’t feel his leg. What happened still made no sense. He was smarter than this. But now here he is at an unknown location with a deranged animatronic who had nothing left to lose.

BloodMoon laughed as he fell down next to him.

“Are you fucking serious? Ugh… get up… stand up! I’m not dealing with this shit. You’re GOING to think of something, whether it leads to my death or yours..” His laughter grew louder. Pulling Ruin up with him forcefully.

“We’re going to go find KillCode while you think of a sorry excuse of why you did this shit.”
