Scar: if you really think about it the concept of humanity seems to be tied in what is considered right and wrong, or morality, which by extension is tied into the culture, traditions, and religion of any one group or individual

Scar: if you want to argue where exactly humanity begins or ends you would likely have to account for that bias in any discussion you want to entertain. But if you want to set that aside for a moment and have it as just a purely speculative/opinion based discussion 

Scar: humanity itself is often considered to be the sentience of a human that supposedly separates us from animals, yes? But what most people are really thinking about regarding humanity is the ability to feel and to know right from wrong

Scar: a robot capable of recognizing and fighting against certain immoral acts could potentially be considered more humane than certain humans you meet

Scar: but it’s not considered that because it doesn’t feel

Scar: so humanity insinuates the ability to feel

Scar: but animals can also feel. As can hybrids, mobs or “monsters”, and those with cybernetics (Doc)

Scar: so humanity isn’t really tied to one thing other than an individual’s perception of that thing being humane

Scar: as with any discussion of what is or isn’t real it really depends on your perspective. How you see things does really play into what you consider reality. Really, it is what you see as reality. If you see yourself as a monster, bad, good, or anywhere in between than that is what you see yourself as. Whether or not you’re seen that way by others does, once again, depend on their opinions and anything that may influence their bias towards the way they might view your actions. It is also completely possible for your view of yourself to play into the way you act. Thoughts become actions, yes? So if you see yourself as a monster you’re more likely to act what you think a monster would act like. The same goes for everything else. It is also possible that if you see yourself one way, no matter what you do your mind will try and shape it to fit into the way you see yourself as. You could be doing quite well by general standards but if you see yourself as a monster your mind is likely to try and form that into a way that lets you see yourself as a monster. If you think you’re a monster than even if you’re being nice you’ll still see it as a bad thing. Such as: if you do something nice for someone, say, give them a gift all you’re going to be think about is how you messed up. Maybe it wasn’t the right gift, maybe it wasn’t the right thing to do, maybe you’re doing something wrong by trying to be their friend or be nice to them even though you “know there’s something wrong” with you. It is likely going to be that, no matter what you do, so long as you see yourself one way you’re mind will shift anything you do to fit into that worldview
