Chapter Text
Iruka couldn't seem to push his excitement down when he managed to get through the firewall. It had taken him close to a fortnight to study all the niggling bits of code and interesting ways they had set up their security.
Majority of the time it didn't take Iruka long to get through most secure servers and websites.
However whoever setup the security for Blade Industry had done a marvelous job but that wouldn't deter Iruka in the slightest. He quite enjoyed a challenge and was too stubborn to back down.
He shifted around in the ratty computer chair, more duct tape than chair left. He raised his arms up and stretched, god he was stiff. He couldn't remember the last time he had got up and walked around.
Iruka thought to himself it wouldn't be a horrible idea to flick the kettle on and have a nice caramel sachet coffee. He deserved to have a treat after all of that hard work.
Slowly pushing the chair out and with a quick glimpse back at the monitor just in time to see something red flashing near the bottom left.
Iruka quietly cursed underneath his breath, not wanting to wake up Naruto. The boy should be out cold like the dead after coming back from the summer camp earlier today. He thought fondly of his own adoptive charge. Only eleven years old with still way too much energy.
He studied the red flashing icon and on closer inspection it looked like a Kitsune mask but more dog-like than fox.
"Fuck my luck!" Iruka screeched out and pinched the top bridge of his nose.
Of course the legendary Hound had merely led Iruka into a false sense of security and victory.
Composing himself quickly and with little time to lose got straight back in action. He couldn't afford to traced back, especially not to his home.
His adoptive father Hizuen wouldn't be impressed if he got caught either. Iruka was technically off the books when it came to working for the family company.
The trusted Sarutobi Security Cyber & More had a many a fingers in every pie. Especially some less than savoury contracts with secretive government branches.
He didn't like those contracts particularly but it paid the bills better than his part time teaching gig.
He hoped to whatever or whoever could answer his silent prayer that he did enough to cover his tracks.
Iruka was reaching for the top computer desk drawer and felt himself freeze when three rapt knocks came from his bedroom window barely a metre away from himself.
He knew for a fact that the fire escape exit was located at the bathroom window. One of the reasons he had chosen this particular apartment.
"I know you're in there little dolphin." The deep muffled voice singing through the bedroom window.
Of course it was Iruka's bloody luck that there was someone crazy enough to be outside his window. At least the pull up window was locked. Really it should be nearly impossible for someone to be outside of his window being on the 12th floor and the fire escape at the opposite of the building.
Not knowing what to really do except for gingerly getting off the desk chair and grabbing the fork from his instant ramen cup he started backing towards his bedroom door. He had to make sure that Naruto was safe.
Before Iruka could even grasp the bedroom door handle he could hear the distinctive slide of the window opening and the sight of a pale fingerless gloved hand pushing the burgundy curtain to the side and gripping the inside window pane. In one fluid movement black clothed legs pushed through the open window followed suit by the rest of the man's body swinging through.
"Maa that's bad manners not even greeting someone knocking." The deep voice drawled almost lazily.
Iruka took in the sight of the stranger that had swung through his window. And what a sight it was, a tall man dressed in almost all black tactical clothing with compacted muscle and large spikey silver hair not even properly contained by a navy blue bandana. What really struck Iruka was his face or lack of he could see. The man had a black cotton mask reaching up high barely leaving room for the man's dark grey eyes, over the skin of one eye sporting a deep scar. Though what Iruka could make of the man's face it looked angular and a nice jawline.
Shocked at his own thoughts, Iruka's brain stopped short circuiting and registered the man's words.
"I'm definitely not the one being rude here, who the fuck breaks into someone's home via the bedroom window" Iruka hissed at the stranger whilst raising the fork trying to look intimidating. The silver haired man chuckled, taking a couple of steps forward.
"Well now, you started this rude business by breaking into my security, let alone the firewall. I gotta say I'm rather impressed though." The man tilted his head and deeply stared at Iruka almost quizzically.
"I uh think you have the wrong person." Iruka flustered out. He knew that it sounded weak even to his own ears.
"I was immediately altered when you got into my system. I've been watching you this last week and a half Iruka." The man moved closer to Iruka as he was talking.
Yeah Iruka was definitely in a bit of a pickle. He should've known he was fucked when managed to get tangled into the legendary Hound's programming.
Iruka cursed at himself again when a tall silver haired man had managed to creep closer into his personal space without him realising. He couldn't stop the feeling of anxiety bubbling over. The man took a sharp inhale of breath.
"That's interesting, your file didn't mention anything about you being an omega." Hound said, the curiousness in voice evident.
"What don't you think an omega can be smart enough?" Iruka snapped at the man.
Though Iruka couldn't smell the second man's gender in the slightest, it was off putting.
The masked man raised his hands slowly with two palms face up, trying not to look hostile.
"Maa, just surprised however I shouldn't be knowing how sneaky old man Sabutori is." He tried to come across as placating.
Someone had definitely done their homework, Iruka thought to himself. It shouldn't be shocking that someone like Hound would be rather thorough. A lot more attentive than what Iruka had been. He chided himself for not being more careful, he had gotten a little bit lax as no one had gotten close to discovering his other persona.
Still he needed to get to Naruto, make sure no one else was in the apartment except for this one stranger. Iruka twisted his arm for the door knob, keeping his back to the door again except the taller man shoved both his hands on either side of Iruka's face, trapping him in place.
The masked man was barely an inch away from his face. Iruka could get a faint whiff of the man's actual scent. There was a trace of lemongrass and pine, barely a musky undertone of alpha.
It wasn't easy to hide one's scent, Iruka knew this after years of practice himself. It took Iruka a second that the man had tried to subtly scent him which was why he could smell the man's real scent.
"What do you think you're doing?" Iruka groused at him.
He could feel his face beginning to heat up whether from embarrassment or anger. It was considered rather intimate to scent another person.
"Sorry, got a little carried away there. Just curious why your scent is so muted." The silver haired man muttered the words out. He shook his head a little, seemingly trying to snap out of a daze. "But I do believe we have more pressing issues to address."
The man hadn't made a move to back off. Not even allowing Iruka any extra movement. He could feel the man's body heat being so close. Absently he wondered when he had let go of the fork.
"I've heard about the rumours of a certain hacker going by Dolphin. They didn't do you justice for how clever you are." The man winked at him." I've got a business proposition for you, I'm sure old man Sabutori wouldn't mind joining forces again."
That was definitely new news to Iruka. He hadn't heard about Hizuen working with Hound before. Of course it shouldn't be too shocking considering the company's many shadowy deals. A lot of jobs were completely off the books so to speak.
Iruka gulped, "I'm not at liberty to make those choices."
"Old man got you on a short leash?" Hound sounded amused.
Iruka was angered by the man's words. It was true Hizuen had kept a close watch over him but being a rare commodity so to speak wanted to make sure Iruka was safe.
The main reason why Iruka wasn't 'officially' working for the family business. It was best not to attract any attention to himself, let alone being found to be a male omega. The world had changed but discrimination was still present.
Feeling the surge of anger still rising and feeling cornered, Iruka swiftly brought his knee up aiming for the man's groin. Before even making contact the masked man had moved one arm down blocking the blow with his forearm.
"That's a bit vicious, struck a nerve there, did I?" The smug arse raised one eyebrow at him. The man slipped his forearm off Iruka's knee and replaced it with his hand.
"Get off me." Iruka said angrily.
"Promise not to try to run off again?" Hound sounded amused.
Iruka weighed up his options and knew he was out classed to try and stop the man. He had decent self defence but clearly Hound was highly trained by what he had seen so far.
"I don't really have a choice." Iruka murmured.
"You don't have sound so miserable. I'm not going to hurt you." The man removed his hands and took a couple of steps back.
The taller man let out a sigh and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Iruka, I've been in this game for a long time and it's not very often I come across people who've got certain skill sets like yours. I've got another contract coming up and wouldn't mind another set of eyes to help. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity, quite a lot of money if you choose to do so." The man had dropped the bored drawl, sounding serious.
"I'm doing just fine, thank you." It's not like Iruka had the time for a third job.
It was a struggle enough to look after Naruto between but that nice summer camp had set him back a bit.
He didn't like asking for money from adoptive father. Iruka had wanted to be independent and show him that he could be responsible enough to look after Naruto without help. He had barely turned twenty-three years old and was only just starting his career in teaching.
The man cocked one eyebrow up again. "Didn't you hear the part where I've been keeping tabs on you?"
"You sound like a stalker." Iruka snapped, feeling frustrated.
"Look I'll run it by the old man, I'm sure he would be fine with the proposal and me borrowing you for a while." The man doing the eye smile while tilting his head, completely ignoring the previous comment.
Well Iruka could really use the extra money especially if Hizuen agreed to contract him out temporarily. With a frustrated sigh he found himself replying back to the man. "Fine, if you get Hizuen's permission I'll take you up on the offer."
"Wonderful news Iruka, you won't regret it in the slightest." The silver haired man beamed at him, clapping his hand together.
"Was there anything else to discuss?" Iruka asked hesitantly.
"Maa I'm sure we could iron out the rest of the details after your shift finishes tomorrow." The almost bored drawl slipping back in.
How much had the other man observed and looked into his life? It was truly unnerving how much he knew about Iruka and all he knew was the alias he went by.
"You should tell me your name." Iruka blurted out.
"Ahh, I suppose I should probably introduce myself. Kakashi Hatake at your service." Kakashi winked at Iruka with his hand rubbing the back of his neck. "I should probably leave you to your night."
Iruka gawked at Kakashi who started to approach the bedroom window. He was definitely a bit of a character.
"I have a perfectly good door, you know." Iruka stated.
"I find windows more convenient." Kakashi mused.
"I highly doubt that, please use the door instead." Iruka pleaded.
He really didn't want any of his neighbours to see a strange (handsome) man leaving his bedroom window.
Kakashi half shrugged his shoulders and somehow managed to pronounce the man's thick biceps more. Iruka could feel his face heating back up and averted his gaze near Kakashi's booted feet instead.
"I suppose if you insist so much I could use the door." Kakashi whined.
Iruka shook his head and opened the bedroom door which led out to the small lounge room with the kitchen right next to it.
"Your apartment looks a lot nicer on the inside than from the outside." Kakashi commented.
Iruka could see from the corner of his eyes as the silver haired man scanned over his home. Maybe Iruka shouldn't have agreed to work with what appeared to be a stalker.
Iruka walked past the orange love couch that Naruto had begged for when they had gone op shopping for furniture. It was definitely an odd assortment of furnishings but Iruka was proud of it.
They had reached the front door and Kakashi had paused, almost looking unsure of himself.
"You do know how a door works right?" Iruka said with amusement.
"I'm a genius thank you very much, I just normally prefer the back entrance." Kakashi leered at him.
Feeling a familiar heat rising from his neck to his face, Iruka snapped. "You're an arse is what you are."
"Honestly it's part of my suave charm." Iruka glared at the alpha. "On that note I think I should take my leave for the night."
Without any further comments from Iruka; Kakashi made quick work of the two locks and chain opening the apartment door. With a quick two finger wave the spiky haired man walked out closing the door behind him.
Iruka hastily pressed his face up against the peephole to double check that Kakashi had actually started to move away from his apartment and just maybe catch a glimpse of that admittedly nicely built body. Instead Iruka saw or heard no trace of the man anywhere in the shared corridor. Iruka thought to himself who exactly was the man he had promised to work with.

Chapter Text
Iruka could feel a headache starting to form, likely from stress and not enough sleep. He wasn't sure how his adoptive dad was handling the news that his identity had been discovered. Hizuen had wanted a peaceful life for Iruka, called in a couple of favors to get into the prestigious Konohagakure Academy.
Hizuen had reassured him that they had offered to do a trial run as favour and that it was Iruka's own abilities that secured him a position. It was an incredibly stressful month before offering Iruka a permanent part time position with potential to lead into full time work in the near distant future.
"Earth to Iruka, I repeat, space cadet come into landing" Anko's voice cut through his racing thoughts.
Iruka made eye contact with her with her arms swinging about trying to get his attention. God did Iruka just wanted to stop blushing whenever he felt the slightest amount of embarrassment.
"Our precious space cadet has come in for landing!" Anko jumped up from where she had been sitting across from Iruka in the staff room.
"Anko, how do you still have so much energy?" Iruka light heartily grouching her. They had been friends for many years, it wasn't easy hiding his anxiety away from her.
"Don't try to change the subject with me, Umino. Something's going on, I've been trying to get attention for the last ten minutes at least." Anko crossed her arms and gave Iruka the 'stare'.
"I can't really talk about it here." Iruka huffed, nothing short of an avalanche would stop the lilac haired woman when she latched onto something.
Anko looked around the empty teacher's room before whispering. "Is it about the family business?"
"Yes, could you drop it for now please?" He asked her.
She raised her pointer finger to her mouth pretending to think it over.
"I'll just ask Ibiki when I see him at home." Anko grinned at him.
Iruka only slightly regretted occasionally introducing them to each other. Anko had tagged along to one of the company's dinners a few years ago and had noticed the way those two had looked at each other.
Most people were intimidated by Anko's alpha gender but the beta man Ibiki was captivated by her. It was delightful seeing his best friend finding someone who understood and appreciated her. However today was one of those he had slightly regretted introducing the mated pair.
"Anko you know you're not meant to be digging for information." Trying to chastise his friend.
"That's adorable little Ruka, I'm-" Anko was interrupted mid speech.
"Anko, that's not very appropriate trying to get someone to submit." Kotetsu chided as he walked into the staff room.
Iruka began to laugh, feeling his shoulders shaking as Anko sank down into her chair, spluttering. Iruka wiped a tear from his eye.
"That was amazing Kotetsu." Iruka said, still laughing.
Kotetsu scrunched his slightly thick eyebrows together in confusion. Not everyone had known that Anko and Iruka had known each other since childhood.
"Iruka please tell Kotetsu I wasn't doing that!" Anko hissed at him.
"It's alright Kotetsu, it's just a silly thing when we're kids. She decided I was little because she was four months older than me." Iruka wheezed out, almost getting his laughter back under control.
"Oh, sorry Anko I thought you were doing a weird alpha thing. Though I suppose trying to intimidate beta wouldn't work overly well." Kotetsu mused somewhat.
"Dude do you know how much trouble I could be in trying to intimidate a non-alpha." squawked Anko looking a little bit pale.
The black spiky haired man let out an amused huff and shook his head.
"Anyway, what are you two doing here so late?" Kotetsu inquired. "Naruto is starting to fret, sent me in."
"We were going over each other's teaching plan for the next syllabus." Anko answered, gesturing at the binders and papers sprawled about on the coffee table.
"Jeez, we've barely even started the term and you two are working on the next?" Kotetsu looked impressed.
"Duh, we like working here so we have to impress the bigwigs." Anko shot Kotetsu a look like he was an idiot for even asking.
Anko and Iruka shared a class with each other taking alternative days except for Mondays when they worked together.
They had wanted to strive for a better future and well both wanted full time employment. It was hard to forget that poverty wasn't right around the corner like it had been when they were children. Still it never hurt to keep striving further ahead for a better future.
Both of them had been a victim of the system. Two orphans that had managed to almost slip through every crack. Iruka would forever be grateful for Hizuen's generosity and looking out for Anko's wellbeing. He wasn't sure how his adoptive father managed to get her accommodation and a semi-regular caretaker to boot. Anko did have the option to be adopted by the Sabutori family.
However Anko had carried too much trauma from her last placement to trust anyone else to her care like that again.
Iruka glanced at the clock and swore under his breath. Naruto would definitely be getting antsy to get back home. He was still surprised he hadn't heard anything from Hizuen to say that Kakashi had been by to negotiate a deal. Iruka pulled at the top of his ponytail slightly in frustration.
"Anko, I better get Naruto back home and fed before goes completely feral." Iruka sighed and haphazardly began packing away his teaching plans for the day.
Anko gave a nod. "Alright next Monday we'll go over the science experiments we could do and calculus quizzes."
"Would it be alright if I tagged along?" Kotetsu asked sheepishly.
"The more the merrier, it would be nice to bounce more ideas around." Iruka said. "Alright but I better go make a move before Naruto gets into something."
The three said their goodbyes to each other as they made their way out of the staff room. Iruka could see a tuff of unruly yellow hair sticking out from the corner of the school entrance.
"Hey Naruto, I didn't leave you waiting for too long?" Iruka asked gently.
Naruto whipped around and lit up with a smile that could put the sun to shame with how bright it was.
"It's all good, Mr Izumo after school program was getting boring.” Naruto said nonchalantly.
It wasn't a surprise that Kotetsu had been hanging around the other teacher. There was a lot of gossip going around if they would both realise their feelings for each other or were already dating.
“Thank you so much for being exceptionally patient waiting for me, Naruto. I didn't mean to stay back for so long, especially the first day back.” Iruka apologized.
“Well you could always make it up to me by buying ramen.” Naruto said mischievously.
“You'll never grow if you don't eat enough vegetables.” Iruka tsked at his adoptive son.
“I know dad, you keep telling me it won't be long until I turn into ramen.” Naruto grumbled lightly. Hearing Naruto call him dad would always make his heart swell. He only started to call Iruka dad just over a year ago.
Before Iruka could reply his phone started vibrating from a call. Looking at his phone, it was Hizuen who was calling.
“Sorry again Naruto, I better take this call.”
Naruto shrugged with one shoulder and kept pace with Iruka towards the car park.
“Hey Hizuen, how can I help?” Iruka felt himself getting anxious.
“Well it seems you've made quite the impression with a certain someone. Come over for dinner and we'll talk more.” Hizuen replied and hung up before Iruka could say anything else.
“Feel like going to grandpa's Hizuen for dinner?” Iruka asked.
“Yay, Grandpa Hizuen's cooking is so good!” Naruto jumped up in excitement.
Really Iruka should feel insulted that Naruto wasn't overly fond of his cooking but he couldn't fault the boy for it.
Most of the meals Iruka cooked ended up being bland and too salty the majority of the time. He wasn't sure how it had happened, he always followed the recipe!
They had reached Iruka's car, a simple sedan showing some wear and tear. With the click of the key fob Naruto had scrambled into the passenger seat. Iruka shook his head with fondness at the excited kid.
—------
Iruka and Naruto had let themselves into the Sabutoris’ house. It was an impressive place with three stories and boasting a large backyard with a koi pond. The house itself had been inspired by Victorian architecture with pale blue shingles and dark shingled roof.
Naruto kicked his shoes off and made a beeline to the kitchen. Iruka sighed and rubbed at his scar on his nose. He tidied the boy’s shoes up and noticed a pair of black combat boots. Hizuen hadn't mentioned a guest would be with them. Not giving it much more thought, Iruka followed after Naruto.
Inside the kitchen Iruka could hear a very excited Naruto talking a hundred miles an hour. Iruka smiled to himself and walked in.
“Can you believe they gave us homework on the first day back after school holidays!” Naruto had whined at an amused looking Hizuen.
The older man had short cropped white hair and boasted the trademark goatee. He was mixing something in a large pot that smelt divine.
“I wish dad could be my teacher instead. He's never mean to his students like Mr Ebisu.” Naruto grumbled.
“Naruto, have you even washed up yet?” Iruka inquired, knowing full well the kid hadn't.
“Noo, but I haven't seen grandpa Hizuen in forever. I haven't even had the chance to tell him about the summer camp yet.” Naruto used his puppy dog eyes on Iruka.
“Naruto, why don't you go wash up with Iruka and I'll start serving up dinner.” Hizuen said with fondness.
“Okay, I guess we can go do that.” No sooner did the words leave his mouth and Naruto was off again.
Iruka could never remember being that energetic as a kid. He followed after Naruto once more and scolded Naruto for trying to flick water at him. Naruto just grinned and let Iruka in at the bathroom sink.
Making their way back to the kitchen, Iruka noticed the once empty dining room had three people sitting down.
Iruka's attention was instantly caught by the silver haired man from last night sitting at the table. Kakashi was wearing a tight fitting black turtle neck sweater with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
Kakashi had his arms resting on the dining table and had forgone the mask he had worn from last night. The mask hadn't done his face any justice. Cutting cheek bones along with a sharp jawline and nice squared chin with a little beauty mark under his lips. The jagged scar almost ran down to his lip.
“Dad, isn't it rude to stare at people?” Naruto hesitantly asked.
Kakashi smirked at Iruka and made something flutter inside of him. Asuma, the dark tanned man sported a similar goatee to his father who was sitting across from Kakashi let out a snicker but stopped when Hizuen shot his son a pointed look.
“Sorry I was caught by surprise.” Iruka flustered, rubbing at the scar on his face.
Naruto sat next to Asuma at the mahogany dining table who reached over slightly to ruffle the blonde’s hair in an affectionate manner. Which meant for Iruka to either sit next to Naruto or next to Kakashi as Hizuen was sitting at the head of the table. Iruka decided it was probably best to sit next to the silver haired man and across from his son.
It had long become tradition that when invited for dinner in the family home that business would be discussed afterwards. That especially became true when Naruto had been adopted by Iruka three years ago. All Naruto knew of Iruka working at the family company was that he helped write boring codes and programs. However, it was very unusual to have an outsider so to speak at family dinners.
“Hi I’m Naruto, what’s your name mister?” Naruto directed at the silver haired man. It was quite clear that the boy was suspicious of the newcomer as he had a guarded look and inched a little closer to Asuma.
“Nice to meet you Naruto, I’m Kakashi.” The man gave the boy a small smile. “I used to work with your grandpa before he founded his current business.”
Iruka watched Naruto minutely relax his shoulders but not dropping his guard entirely. Iruka could remember when he was just as mistrusting and guarded but the kid had made tremendous progress.
It didn’t take long until Naruto had started to chat Hizuen’s ear off about what he got up to during the school holidays. Asuma occasionally chiming in with his own questions and managing to keep giving Iruka amused looks. Iruka had done his best to ignore the silver haired man that felt too close to him.
Kakashi must've been wearing heavy duty scent blockers yesterday night but still had enough control of his scent not to flood the entire room with it. It was an incredibly distracting smell coming from the man, no way could he mistaken anything else as but an alpha. Of course Iruka was a man with needs, who didn’t but Iruka really didn’t have the time to indulge even in simple hookups. Or expose his omega status, it was something he didn’t want to go through again.
The small dumb voice in his head reminded him that Kakashi knew about his secondary gender. It didn’t really matter though, he didn’t even know the man sitting next him besides he was a hacker and trespassing talents. At least he could get through the next job and never see the man again.
“Hey kid, come help me feed the kois.” Asuma was already standing up and not even waiting to see if Naruto was following.
It didn’t take a whole lot of coaxing for Naruto to have one on one time with his uncle. At least Asuma’s irresponsible ‘uncle duties’ were slightly less dangerous then Anko’s ‘auntie duties’. One particular highlight Anko had attempted to teach him how to play darts blindfolded. Still Asuma still had a penchant for mischief that Iruka couldn’t really call himself out on without being a hypocrite.
“Iruka and Kakashi, would you mind following me into the study?” Hizuen had asked.
They followed Hizuen up the two flights of stairs to a neat and tidy home office. Hizuen had sat down at his desk on the high winged back tanned leather chair and gestured for Kakashi and Iruka to take the two lightly padded guest chairs that faced towards his adoptive father.
“I don’t think there's much point in beating around the bush here. When you said you would have the best man for the job to test my latest work you weren’t messing around.” Kakashi grinned.
Iruka was definitely out of the loop, Hizuen didn’t disclose to him that it had been actual security work instead of being led to believe that was a job that a certain government branch couldn’t dirty their hands with directly. Iruka shot the elder man with his best glare with Hizuen giving an apologetic nod for all the trouble.
“I thought when I was working with the Saburutori Security that I was to remain anonymous.” Iruka gritted out. He didn’t expect to be exposed like this, not after everything Hizuen had done to instill trust between them over the years.
“Iruka no I hadn’t told Kakashi here that it was you, he found that out himself.” Hizuen had given the silver haired alpha a harsh look. “I do apologise Iruka, unfortunately the contract was highly classified and wasn’t able to pertain you to all of the details.”
“Maa, sorry my curiosity got the best of me.” With Kakashi’s tone he hadn’t meant the apology in the slightest.
“Moving along, I would be willing to let Iruka be contracted out of the business under certain conditions. He’s one of my best employees and my son, Kakashi if it was anyone else who pulled this stunt with me there would be exceptionally dire outcomes.” Hizuen’s threat laid out clearly.
“Understood, I should’ve been more respectful.” Kakashi managed to have the decency to look ashamed.
Iruka could feel himself breathing a bit easier knowing that Hizuen still very much had his back. Iruka was no stranger to betrayal and abandonment, it just would’ve hurt more coming from someone that treated him like family for so long. Trust wasn’t something that came easy to him, not since the death of his parents.
“What does the business proposal actually entail?” Iruka wanted to get this over and done with for tonight. He didn’t have to teach class tomorrow but he still needed to get Naruto up and running.
“Well I would need you to be my second set of eyes and come up with some creative solutions to access a high security data server. However, getting caught isn't an option due to very strict treaty laws.” Kakashi explained like he was talking about the weather. Sure Iruka had done some shady work before but not up to this caliber. As if sensing his perturbation on such a task Kakashi spoke up again quickly. “The payout from this contract would be at least five times what you earn a year. Sure there would be very strict disclosures and such but I think you have what it takes.”
Iruka simply nodded his head, it was definitely life changing money for him. He was still nowhere close to having a house deposit or any of the other things he wanted to provide for his son. However that type of financial security was hard to say no to.
The three continued to talk and hash out the conditions of Iruka’s temporary hire by Kakashi. Hizuen who finally looked appeased with the measures they would take to keep Iruka’s identity anonymous and that the timeframe they had was for three months and no longer. After all Iruka was needed for the family business but would postpone work with them until the contract with Kakashi was finished.
Iruka would be lying to himself if he wasn't looking forward to having a good challenge. Something to really test his skills and mind.
