Frontier Quest
Episode 1:
The Journey to Johto
*Tom comes right through the doors* “The intruder has been dealt with. Now, a brand new season to start the fall with.” He sits in the new swivel chair.
Sara: A new season with possibly many returns.
Tom: A lot of old characters set to return later on and many things to happen. We hope you all are ready.
Announcer: We certainly are, Tom. It’s time for the brand new season or the Hear and Soul Series to commence. Right here, on KidsWB!
Tom: Let’s go ahead and kick it. *he hit the touchscreen buttons and slams his fist down*
Ash and Misty get into a cab that changes color before it drives off.

“It’s time! It’s time! Time for a new quest, a new journey. To face who I am, who I will be. To see what my destiny is. To find my rightful place” Ash runs along a field with trees. His past battles going through his head and seeing Misty appear right in front of him then next to him. “Along the path, I’ll become stronger. Facing new challenges, meeting and seeing new friends.” Ash and Misty run along each other with Pikachu on his shoulder, images of their friends passing by. “To take on new and old enemies. My cause is clear.” Ash and Misty face Team Plasma with N, Hilda, Hilbert, and Iris with them before they run at them. “To be a hero is what I am. It’s IN MY HEART AND SOOOUUUULLLLLL, POKEMON!” Ash and Misty stand with their friends.
Two weeks have passed since the gang had to part ways. Ash, Misty and Pikachu were now nearing Pallet Town as they went around Viridian Lake. They all looked at the lake, seeing how calm and peaceful it was. Both remembered how they first met each other, but then Ash remembered this was close where he met back up with Pidgeot, finding out that he had a family and how his son needed the training.
Misty stayed near him as they walked around the lake. She laid her head on his shoulder. “I still remember this place.” She recalled.
“I do too. Especially since I started around here once more and caught Pigeot’s son.” Ash replied.
She looked at him, very surprised. “So this area is where you caught him?”
“Close enough. What the hey. I still remember you accidentally fishing me out of the lake as well.”
Misty giggled. “I remember that as well. I honestly thought you mistreated your Pokémon when I slapped you.”
“Pika pika pikachu. (I remember that as well.)” Pikachu recalled.
“You thought I mistreated him?” Ash asked her, very confused.
She nodded with her eyes closed with an ‘Mm-hmm’ confirming what he asked, “I am sorry that I did slap you. I honestly didn’t know you were running away from all those Spearow.” She explained.
Ash smiled at her and pulled her close. She smiled at him when he did that. “It’s alright, Mist. I do forgive you.” He told her. She gave off a calming sigh, pretty relieved he forgave her after all those years. “I’ll admit it, though. The two of us were pretty young and naïve. Still having a lot to learn about both Pokémon and each other.” He admitted.
“Yeah. Pretty young and naïve.” She confirmed softly before she laid her head on his shoulder as she closed her eyes.
They continued on walking the path that would take them to Pallet Town until Ash thought of something. “I do wish that our friends came with us. But with how things are going, it’s difficult to continue on traveling at times.” He confirmed.
Misty got her head up and looked at him, with a sad expression. She knew what he was feeling. Primarily since they had to go their separate ways years prior. “I know what you mean, Ash. But I’ll admit that we all have our duties and goals.”
Ash looked up. “I understand that as well. It’s just hard to believe that we’re going to be heading to Johto once more,” Ash recalled. “I do wonder what Prof. Oak wants us for?” Ash wondered.
Flashback
The whole gang is at the Pokémon Center as they’re getting ready to depart to continue their journey.
“Even after three days. It still feels weird without Iris being with us.” Dawn commented.
“I understand that right there. This is still the first time that a member of our group has left without the journey ending.” Misty commented.
“And yet, we’ve traveled up until Johto.” Ash reminded her.
“Oh, boy. Don’t remind me. Traveling until we were thirteen. Then what my sisters pulled.” Misty added as she further recalled.
“What did they do?” Serena asked.
“Oh, boy. They won a cruise around the world. Left me with the duties of a being a gym leader.” Misty said in an annoyed tone.
“Wasn’t that a good thing, though?” Serena asked.
Misty walked forward a bit, her eyes glistening a bit. “I didn’t at first, until I got the encouragement from Nurse Joy and managed to beat those so-called Invincible Brothers and tamed Gyarados. After all of that, I thought that being a gym leader was more of my calling or something. But over at least a few years, I felt like I needed something more in my life.” She replied.
“So that’s why you met up with me and Brock. Right?” Ash asked her.
“Y-yeah. Along with waiting for you at your house when I found out you were coming back.” Misty told him very emotionally.
They had a brief moment of connection together as they looked at each other. Into one-another’s eyes. Their friends could feel what they had – a solid relationship. One that went past being just friends. “Umm. Ash Ketchum?” Nurse Joy requested as she went up to them.
Ash and Misty snapped out of their connection and looked at her. “Yeah? That’s me.” Ash told her as he turned to face her.
“There’s a call from Prof. Oak. He says it’s pretty urgent.” Nurse Joy told him.
Ash didn’t expect an urgent call from Prof. Oak and wondered what it was. He went over to the video phone and picked up the phone part. “Hello? Prof. Oak?” he requested.
“Oh, hello, Ash. Long time no see. It’s been some time.” He told him.
“Yeah. It has been. So what’s the urgency?” Ash requested.
“Oh. I need for you, Misty and possibly Brock to come here right away. I just got a call from someone very important not too long ago.” He told them.
Hearing this, everyone could tell one thing. They were going to split up and they honestly didn’t want to, but there was a lot going on in their lives where they had no other choice but to do so.
“I-I honestly didn’t want for us to split up.” Dawn told them.
“I’m afraid we don’t have any other option. After all, I’ll be going into the Battle Frontier.” Paul spoke up.
“And Dawn and I have our contests to do.” Serena mentioned.
“I still have gym badges to get into the league.” Calem added.
“The best option for us is to split up. I know we’ll meet back up again. Once we do, let’s meet someplace.” Ash told them.
“I suggest that we meet up in a little over a month; after Ash and Misty get to Prof. Oak’s. Probably in Celadon.” Calem suggested.
“Sounds great. I’d say it’s settled. We’ll meet up in Celadon City to continue our journey from right there.” Paul confirmed.
“Is it agreed, then?” Ash asked them. They all nodded to confirm where they were meeting at.
Flashback ends
Ash and Misty got up to a small stream and saw some stones going across it, but very unevenly. “Hmm. I’ll go across first.” Ash told her before he stepped on each stone carefully and got to the other side. Once over there he looked back over to her. “Okay, Mist. Your turn.” Misty looked at the river then to him. “You can do it, Mist.” Ash encouraged her.
Misty knew she could and went on ahead and stepped on each stone to get across. Once she was over there Ash grabbed her hand and pulled her on over to help her. She looked at him when he did and smiled at him. “Thanks, Ash.”
“No problem, Mist. Now let’s get moving.” He told her as he continued to hold her hand and they went to where the path was. Misty noticed this and didn’t mind at all. She remained close to him and they came upon a bit of an opening. Ash recognized this place as it was where everything began. They walked over to a tree and looked up it before he looked at the grassy area. “I still what happened here.” He commented.
Misty looked around, as she could feel this is where the start of his journey took a turn for the worse. “I take it that this is where the Spearow attacked you, right?” she requested.
Ash nodded with two ‘mm-hmms.’ “Yeah, I was pretty dumb back then.” He commented embarrassingly as he rubbed the back of his head with his free hand as he laughed slightly.
“No comment from this corner.” She giggled.
“Pika pikachu pika. (You had a lot to learn.)” Pikachu pointed out as he nodded his head with his eyes closed.
Ash gave him a look but wasn’t serious with it. “Best watch it.” He joked before he looked over to Misty. “Same you with you.” He told her as he smiled.
Misty giggled and kissed his cheek. “I’d say you best watch it, Ketchum.” She playfully retorted.
They continued on down the path until they reached the top of the hill of Pallet Town. Ash gave off a small chuckle and let go of Misty’s hand and looked over the whole when he put his hand over his eyes. “It took us two weeks, but we’re here.” He told her.
Pikachu and Misty looked at Pallet Town as well and recalled how well the two had looked, but she was pretty surprised to see some construction. “Huh? When did this happen?"
Ash was a bit confused and took another look and saw some construction workers building new houses there. They headed down and began to go by them. Seeing fighting-type Pokémon lift lumber, brick, stone and other material as they built the houses. “New houses being built? I didn’t expect to see this when we got back.”
“Pika pika pi pikachu pi. (I am curious as to who the new neighbors are.)” Pikachu commented, not knowing how any of this works either.
Ash and Misty went to his house first to pay a visit to his mom. He opened the door and went in, taking off his shoes and putting the slippers on. “Hey, mom. We’re here.” Ash announced.
Misty went in as well and took off her shoes before putting the slippers on and stepping in with him. “Is she here, Ash?”
“It doesn’t look like…” “Mime, Mr. Mime. (Ash, you’re here.)” Mr. Mime announced very pleased as he came down the stairs. They looked and saw Mr. Mime. “Ha, ha. Well, now. Mr. Mime. I should’ve known you were here. Where’s mom?”
“I’m right here, sweetie.” Delia told him. She came in through the back door of the house. “It’s nice to see you again and hello, Misty. I’m glad to see you as well; and you’ve let your hair grow.” She told her as she took off her gardening apron and gloves.
Misty looked at her. “Why, hello, Mrs. Ketchum. It’s nice to see you again, too; and thanks for noticing.” Misty replied as her hair was a bit further down in its side ponytail.
Delia looked at her son. “I hope you have been treating her well, Ash. Especially since you’re sixteen.” Delia told him.
“Of course I am, mom. Why would I treat her any different?” he requested.
“I know how you both used to behave before. But seeing how much you’ve grown over the years. I am proud of how much you’ve matured.” Delia told him.
“I know, mom. And thanks.” Ash replied.
“Also, I take it that you both wanted to visit here before going up to Prof. Oak’s. Am I right?”
“Um, yes. I take it that he told you we were?” Misty asked.
“Mm-hmm.” Delia acknowledged with her eyes closed with a single nod before she opened her eyes and angled her head to look at her son. “Since you both have a long journey, why don’t you both rest here for the night?”
“Hmm!” Ash exclaimed as he looked at Misty. “Well, what do ya think, Mist?”
She looked back at him. “Sounds good to me. I could use a bath and a good bed.”
“Well, it’s settled then. Go ahead and head over to Prof. Oak’s. I’ll make sure to make you both a great dinner.” She told them.
“Great! Thanks mom. We’ll be back in a flash.” Ash told her.
“Oh, and, Ash.” Delia said to him before he could change his shoes as he looked at her. “Where’s Brock? I thought he’d be here as well?” she wondered.
Ash faced her a bit more. “Well, you see…” he started.
Flashback 2
Brock looked at them after they asked him if he was able to go with them to Pallet Town. “I honestly wish I could, but I have to study up for another test. After all, I’m taking classes to become a Pokémon Doctor still and I’m one of the top students in my class.” He told them.
“What the! One of the top students?” Ash asked, being very surprised.
“Yep. One of the top students.” He confirmed.
“Well it should be that much of a surprise. Especially since he’s been great with the Pokemon you guys have encountered.” Misty commented as she recalled past events.
“This is certainly like the others. You have more responsibilities to tend to.” Ash acknowledged.
“Right on the nose with that. I do wish you both the best of luck.” He told them.
“We will, Brock. And best of luck on your test.” Misty told him as she and Ash turned around to head on out.
“We’ll see you as soon as we can.” Ash added as they headed off.
Brock waved at them. “Thanks you two and good luck on what Prof. Oak needs you for.”
Flashback ends
Delia was surprised to hear this. Primarily since she thought Brock was more than willing to reunite with them for another journey. But, he had been traveling with Ash and a new companion for much longer than Misty had. “Well, once people get older, they tend to have more responsibilities on their plate.” She added to them.
“On their plate?” Ash wondered.
“It’s an expression. Like when you do extra work for others on your journey.” She explained.
“Seems like there’s still more for us to learn, isn’t there.” Misty pointed out before they departed.
“See you soon, mom. We’ll be back as soon as we can.” Ash told her. Before he closed the door.
“Bye honey. See you later on.” Delia called back as he had left. After he did she looked over to Mr. Mime with a bit of a worried expression. “Did – did you tell him?” she asked.
“Mime Mr. Mime Mr. Mime. (I didn’t tell him anything from what happened.)” Mr. Mime assured her.
Delia gave off a sigh of relief. “Good. I’m glad to hear that. When Looker took me to that place, I wasn’t for sure if I’d be able to get back here or not.”
“Which is a good thing, Mr. Ketchum.” Someone told her as he came out from in the kitchen.
Delia turned to look at him. “No matter how long you’ve been here. I’m still not used to that.” She told her, pretty surprised from how he revealed himself.
“Mrs. Ketchum. You have nothing to worry about. Your son and his girlfriend won’t even know I’m here. Especially since I’m due back at headquarters soon. I’m surprised that Pikachu didn’t sense me.” He told her.
“It’s probably because he didn’t sense any danger. I’ve been taught a bit about Pokémon as well.” She told him.
“Still, for your safety, along with those two, don’t mention us being around here. Otherwise it would be even more complicated on the events that have happened.” He told her before he went outside.
She watched him before tuning back to the door where Ash and Misty exited. “I honestly hope he doesn’t find out anything.” She said to herself in a sad tone, her eyes glistening a bit.
It wasn’t long with Ash and Misty that they were walking on the road. It was still a dirt road that led all the way to Prof. Oak’s lab and Ash remembered having to run all the way to Prof. Oak’s lab that morning. When he remembered this Misty saw him smiling and wondered what was on his mind. “Hey, Ash. What’s on your mind to make you smile like that?”
“You’re probably not going to believe this.”
“Try me.”
“Well, the day I started my journey was when I missed my alarm clock and accidentally woke up late. Realizing what time it was I didn’t change into my original outfit. I changed later on; but I had to run down the road that morning to get my first Pokémon.” He told her.
“I’ll believe that.”
“Heh. I thought you would, Mist.” It didn’t take much longer to make it to Prof. Oak’s lab and they went up and into the house. “Prof. Oak. We’re here.” He announced.
“I’m up here, Ash.” Prof. Oak answered. Ash and Misty went up the stairs and went into his lab area. When they did they saw him getting three new poke balls ready as he was polishing another one. “There we go. Now for you.” He said to the other ball and he picked it up and started to shine it until he noticed Ash and Misty. “Hello you two. It’s been some time.” He told them.
“It certainly has been, Prof. Oak. But what have you called us for?” Ash requested until Tracey came up as he held an egg.
“Huh? Another egg, Tracey?” Prof. Oak asked him as he took it after putting down the other poke ball.
“Yep. Third one this month.” He replied.
“Third one? What all is going on?” Misty requested.
“It’s like mating season around here. Pokémon are getting together and are reproducing these eggs. I’ll have to take this one into storage until I can examine it properly.” He told them.
Misty looked over to Tracey as Prof. Oak left. “You guys certainly have your hands full, huh?”
“Yeah, no kiddin’. With these eggs, it’s hard for me to focus on my own life. It might be a third egg, but I suspect that there will be more down the line.” He stated.
“How are the rest of the Pokémon outside?” Ash requested.
“Behaving incredibly well. Bulbasuar has some extra help to maintain not only order, but also peace.” Tracey replied.
“Nice. I best go and see him to let him know I’m back once more.” And departed smiling.
Misty went on over to Tracey, wondering something. “How have things been with you and my sister?” she requested.
“Eh… same-old, same-old.” He replied.
“I still can’t believe she had me to contact you a while back. Not to mention that Prof. Oak thought I was interested in you.” She noted.
“Oh yeah. He and I chatted about that briefly during yours, Ash’s and Pikachu’s party.” He recalled until he looked at Misty. “But how’d you find out?”
“I found out when Ash and I talked about it in Silver Town. You’re a great guy, but you’re more like my brother.”
“And you’re more like my sister and… huh? Did you grown your hair out?”
“Yeah, I did. I thought I’d try something a bit different. How does it look?”
“Has Ash noticed?”
“I think so. He’s probably forgotten to mention it.” It was right there they heard an explosion. “What was that?”
“Oh, no. This is why Bulbasaur needed the extra help.” Tracey pointed out and they ran outside.
Prof. Oak heard this and ran outside as well and had just arrived right before Misty and Tracey got outside. “Professor Oak! What was that?” Tracey requested and they looked and saw Ash and Bulbasaur attempting to stop a feud.
“They’re at it once more.” Prof. Oak commented.
“Another feud? Can they ever find peace?” Misty wondered.
Ash attempted to keep them all at bay along with Bulbasuar. “Come on you guys. There’s no need for this.” Ash told them.
“Is it over some territory?” Tracey wondered.
“Unfortunately, yes. I honestly don’t know why they keep on trespassing onto each other’s territory.”
“Ash! Be careful. You don’t know if they’re gonna…” she then saw how well maintained they were along with how Ash and Bulbasuar stood their ground, not moving as they only turned their heads. “What the? I know we’ve been travelling for a while once more, but has he really gotten this good while he’s been traveling?” she wondered. This made her wonder about what if she had managed to travel with him through the other two region and the Battle Frontier.
“Hey, guys. Come on. You all know that the territory has to be shared.” Tracey reminded them.
“Yeah, guys. Wouldn’t that make more seennnsssseeee.” Ash then fell asleep as Bulbasaur got out of the way as a Butterfree flapped its wings to douse them with Sleeping Powder.
“Wait! Is that Butterfree?” Misty wondered.
“Yep. It’s dousing them with Sleeping Powder. That one is one of Bulbasuar’s assistants.” Tracey told her.
“I wish you could’ve warned Ash about that.” Misty told him as he was passed out on the grass.
Not long after, Ash was back inside the lab and his eyes began to open. Once they were he rubbed his eye and got up, only to see Misty with Tracey, looking at the new starter Pokémon. He was checking them over as he had a stethoscope on Charmander’s body. “Mmhm. That’s sounds good.” He commented as he put it down and wrote down some notes.
Ash got up and stretched and Misty took notice of this. “Huh? Hey there, sleepy head.” She told him with a smile.
Ash walked over to them. “How’d I fall asleep?" he asked them.
“One of Bulbasuar’s assistants. A Butterfree. It used Sleep Powder to quell the other Pokemon. It helps to settle the territory dispute.” Tracey informed him as he checked Squirtle with a much stronger stethoscope. He listened for a bit and put that one down. “Yep! You’re good as well.” He commented.
“Huh? Are you guys expecting new trainers?” Ash wondered.
“In about a week.” Misty answered.
“They’ll be in a tight schedule once they start. The League might be a while away but they’ll have to train hard to make it there.” Tracey pointed out as he finished his notes.
“That’s one thing that I’ve been wondering about is how the Pokémon trainers manage to get their work done before the League starts.” Ash wondered.
“Well, Ash, it’s simple.” Prof. Oak spoke up as he arrived upstairs. “When you first started is when the Pokémon League began their preparations for the upcoming Pokémon trainers. After you turned eleven, You were arriving right on time for the next League to start.”
Ash was surprised at this. “So the Pokémon League had started while us new trainers were starting out?”
“Oh yeah. I completely forgot that the League was just starting when you first started.” Misty spoke up.
Ash looked over to her. “You knew it was?”
She looked back at him. “Mm-hm. There weren’t anymore trainers allowed to enter gyms as they had started to close during the events. Although I think some of the gyms allowed them in to ear a gym badge right before the league started.” Misty pondered.
“How many trainers were your sisters letting in at that point?”
“Hardly any. It was also the reason why I left Cerulean City and went on my own journey until I met you.” Misty recalled.
“Do you regret it?” Ash asked in a joking way.
Misty giggled. “Sort of.” She joked back as she winked at him.
“Oh, ha, ha. Very funny, Mist.” Ash replied.
Professor Oak saw how these two got along incredibly well. From what Tracey explained to him at the party he certainly saw how Ash and Misty had great chemistry. As for the time being, though, he knew they needed to get down to business. They sat down on his two couches to hear what he had to say.
“So what’s going on, Prof. Oak? What all did you need to see us about?” Ash requested.
“Do you all remember Kurt?” he requested.
Ash and Misty looked to each other then back to him. “Of course. We went to see him in the Johto region about the GS ball. Why?” Misty recalled.
“Well, it seems as if he has figured out the properties of the GS ball and has requested that you two and Brock come and see his discovery. In speaking of Brock, where is he, anyway?”
“Oh, I’m afraid he wasn’t able to make it.” Misty started.
“He couldn’t make it?” Prof. Oak wondered.
“Well, you see, he’s still currently studying to become a Pokémon Doctor and there’s a test he’s trying to get ready for.” Ash informed him. Prof. Oak was surprised to hear about this as he thought that Brock would’ve been ecstatic to return to Johto. But with his current studies, he wasn’t able to continue on with his journeys. “Not only that, but he feels like he’s been on enough journeys after traveling all of these years.” Ash added.
“So, currently, we’re the only ones who are able to continue on. Not to mention, we’re more than willing to go to Johto.” Misty told him.
“Yeah. It’ll be like old times. But without Brock.” Ash added.
“I see.” Prof. Oak replied.
“I do understand that you guys did want for him to join. But from what I can tell, is that he’s now in his twenties getting ready for a potential career.” Tracey pointed out.
“Not only that, but he’s also becoming a better breeder. From my understanding, he’s including breeding in his studies.” Ash added.
“It’ surprising to see how much he’s grown over the years. More or less in some areas.” Misty added.
Later on, out in the field, Ash and Misty were watching the Pokémon, along with Ash’s Tauros. She was standing right next to him as they watched. They ran around and Ash was surprised at how strong they had gotten. Not only that, but Misty was surprised as well.
“It seems like your Tauros are like you, Ash. Getting stronger over time.” She pointed out.
“I’d say so, yeah. All of my Pokémon here have gotten stronger over time. It’s how I’ve managed to win those other leagues.” He commented.
“While we’re here. Are there any Pokémon you want to switch out?” she asked him.
“Maybe so. I’m not for sure which ones I would take with me.” He told her as they started walking along the fence.
She looked at the many other Pokémon and they came across the small pond area and Froakie popped out. “Oh, wow! It’s Froakie.”
Ash knelt down to the little frog Pokémon. “Hey Froakie. I hope you’ve been doing good.”
“Kie froakie froakie froa. (Just been training during my time here.)” Froakie replied.
“I must say. He certainly does look stronger since you sent him here.” Misty commented.
“That makes me wonder. Do you want to join up with us when we go to Johto?”
“Kie fro kie fro. (I would love to join.)” Froakie said happily, wanting to stretch its legs.
“Then I’ll clear it with Prof. Oak. But I will need to leave one behind.” Ash stated as he had to think on one to leave behind. He grabbed his Poke Balls and tossed them into the air. “Come on out, everyone.” He called out and the balls burst open and each Pokémon announced themselves: Goomy, Boldore, Infernape and Pidgeotto. “Let’s see here.” Ash wondered.
Misty looked at them as did Pikachu. “Listen, guys. Ash is wondering which one of you he should leave here.” She told them until Ash’s Pidove came up and landed on his shoulder.
Ash looked over and smiled at his feathered friend. “Hey there, Pidove. Say would you like to join us as well?” he requested. Pidove nodded happily, wishing to get out and stretch its wings so it could ger stronger. “Great! Awesome. So now we need two to remain behind.” He stated.
“Fernape. (I will.)” Infernape said as he stepped forward.
Boldore stepped forward as well and Ash was surprised to see them do this and realized why. “Right. Understood. I’ll let him know about you two remaining here.” Ash confirmed before he went back to Prof. Oaks lab along with Misty, Foakie and Pidove. Once they arrived they went up to see him and Tracey. “Prof. Oak. Tracey. I have two Pokemon that would like to go with me on our journey to Johto.” He informed him.
Prof. Oak looked at him and saw Pidove and Froakie. “Oh, so those two? Pretty good choices.” Prof. Oak agreed. He went to his storage in which Ash and Misty followed him and they went in and saw all the Poke Balls that were in there.
“Seems like he has his hands full with these Pokémon.” Misty commented.
Prof. Oak had sat himself down at a computer and started typing away. “Of course. I do take care of all the Pokemon that come here, but there will a time that Ash will either have to take them with him or allow them to stay at a breeders. But he still had a good while until that.” He told them as brought up Ash’s Pokémon.
“Why do you say that Prof. Oak?” Ash requested.
“Even though I’m supposed to take care of the excess Pokémon each trainer captures over time. There does come a time when that trainers Pokémon must depart the lab to their trainers place or a breeder that they hire.” Prof. Oak informed them.
“I honestly didn’t know or think about that.” Ash replied.
“That’s going to be tough to do.” Misty added.
“Oh, it won’t be that tough. As long as you get a plan started it’ll roll along over time.” Prof. Oak reassured them as he picked Froakie’s and Pidove’s Poke Balls. The hand picked one up and brought it over to Ash. “Now all Ash has to do is have the other two Poke Balls at the ready.” Ash brought out each one and was handed Froakie’s first, then Pidove’s as Infernape’s and Boldor’s were put in their place. “There we go. All set.” Prof. Oak stated and he turned to face them. “I hope you both are ready.”
“I’d say we are, Prof. Oak.” Ash replied.
Later on he and Misty arrived back at his mother’s house as she was starting to prepare dinner. She looked around and saw them. “Hello, sweetie. I hope you’re hungry.”
“Of course. I’m starved.”
Misty giggled at him, remembering how hungry he’s been over the years. Misty got a look at the food Mrs. Ketchum made. “This looks great, Mrs. Ketchum.” She complimented.
“Thank you, dear. Anything for Ash’s friends and closest friends.” She told her.
They started to eat with Ash beginning to scarf down his food until his mother pulled his ear. “Ash Ketchum. You may eat like that while on your journeys, but not here.” She scolded him.
Ash swallowed his food. “Ow, ow, ow, but mooommmm?”
“No buts young man. Also, you’re right at being a young adult. You should have had some manners at this point.” She reminded him before she let go.
Ash rubbed his ear, still feeling the pain his mom inflicted. “Ow, mom. Okay.”
Misty gave off a sigh and looked at Pikachu. “Old habits die hard.” She commented.
“Pika pika. (Very hard.)” he acknowledged as he nodded his head a couple of times.
It wasn’t lonog after that Ash and Misty used the bathroom separately as they knew Ash’s mother wouldn’t approve of them using it together, despite their maturity. And even though they got used to sleeping together, they made sure they would sleep separately in his mother’s house.
Misty came out in her Pyjama underwear and went into Ash’s room as Ash went in to take care of his own business. Afterwards, he was in the same room with her and they both sat down to watch a bit of tv. As they did she noticed how old his tv was and was still surprised at how well it worked.
“I’m surprised that you still have this old thing and I’m still surprised at how well it works.” She complimented him.
“Well It’s been years since this tv was last on. I also know that my mom keeps the house clean, including my room.” He stated, knowing how much she loves to keep a spotless house. Misty laid her head on his shoulder as they watched a small Pokémon match that was a rerun from a while back. It was the Champion League when Lance was taken on by another challenger. “From what I can recall, from Lucian. He told me that in order for someone to become champion, it has to be in the region they live in.” Ash told her,
Misty looked to him, realizing what he means. “So then, even though you managed to win the other Leagues, you still have to take on this one in order for you to become the Champion?” she wondered.
Ash nodded. “That what I understand. There might be more to it than what we know, though. But if there is – I’ll find out from Lance and Cynthia since they know me pretty well.” He added.
Misty continued watching tv and as she understood what he meant. Ash needed to win this league in order for him to hopefully become Champion.
It wasn’t until later on that the time had come for bed and Ash helped Misty up to the top of the bunk. “Here you go, m’lady.” He told her as he smiled.
Delia was just going by when she heard this and looked in and saw Ash helping Misty up and heard her giggle. “Thank you, good sir.” She replied. But she bent down and kissed his cheek before Ash help her the rest of the way.
Seeing this Delia smiled and knew her boy had grown up and was in the right hands. It wasn’t long until Ash cut the lights out in his room and laid on the floor, Pikachu crawling up beside him. “Night buddy.”
The two of them closed their eyes to drift off to sleep, but Misty looked at them and felt like something was currently missing. She wanted to sleep with Ash, but she knew she would have to wait until after they left. But if this did continue to happen at times. She would need a Pokémon companion to have as her own. But her previous companion who was her baby had evolved during a gym battle a while back.
Flashback
“Go on, Azurill. Use Bubble Beam.” Misty called out. Her Azurill fired a Bubble Beam attack at its opponent which was an Excadrill.
“Dodge it and use Metal Claw.” The male trainer commanded. His Excadrill dodged the Bubble Beam as its claws began to glow white.
“Watch out, Azurill.” Misty warned but it was too late. The Metal Claw hit Azurill, nearly knocking it out. “Are you all right?” she requested, worriedly. Azurill just barely started getting up, still willing to out up a fight. “Come on! I know you can do it.” Misty called out.
“Honestly, it looks like your Pokemon can barely fi…” that’s when Azurill started to glow white. “What’s that?” he questioned in disbelief.
“Azu-Azurill is evolving.” She acknowledged, in disbelief as well. Azurill’s body grew larger and more round as it grew ears as well and the light faded.
“Marill mar. (Ready for more.)” her newly evolved Marill stated.
“You-you evolved.” Misty acknowledged.
Flashback ends
“Even though my little baby evolved, Marill sill lost the battle. But she did great work at trying to win it.” She thought to herself before she went to sleep.
The following day the two of them were now up. Ash put on his jacket-vest along with his gloves and he grabbed his hat. Pikachu scampered in as Misty came in. “Oh, you’re up! I thought I’d have to wake you.” She told him with a smile.
He turned and smiled at her. “No need for that. I’m up and ready to roll.” He stated as he smiled back, ready for what they’ll face when they get to Johto.
“Great! Your mom has made breakfast.” Misty told him.
“Awesome. I’m starved.” He stated as he left the room, going past her as she smiled at him.
She lowered her head a bit and shook it, still smiling before looking back up to him. “Things certainly never change with him.” She pointed out before following behind.
Ash sat in the kitchen as he saw his breakfast on the table. “Awesome! Misty told me that breakfast was ready.”
“Well that’s good. She made it herself.” Delia told him.
He looked at his mother in surprise. “I know we’ve been traveling together and how she’s been cooking as well, but she made this?” he questioned, knowing how his mom loved to make his meals.
“She did, but I assisted her.”
“You assisted her?”
“She certainly did.” Misty spoke up as she came in. “I’ve always wanted to know how she made her breakfast, so when I got up, I asked her if I could.”
“How could I say no to her. She does know her way around the kitchen, but she wanted to learn a bit more.” Delia added.
“Not only that, but Ash doesn’t need to know about the kiss on his cheek from this morning” Misty thought to herself.
Pikachu came up to the table as well and Delia put out his food. “Let’s not forget Pikachu.”
“Pikachu! (Thank you!)” Pikachu replied before he started to chow down.
Ash did the same and the food was amazing. “Wow! You did really great.” Ash complimented as Misty and Delia sat with Ash to eat up as well.
“I hope you’re ready for today’s journey. It’s going to be a long one and swallow your food before you talk.” Delia told him firmly as a reminder.
Ash swallowed, knowing what his mother meant. “I know, mom and yeah. I’d say we should be ready.”
“Well, for just in case. I made some extra food for the road.” She told him.
Ash laughed a bit. “That’s my mom for ya.” He stated.
Hearing this made Misty think about hers and her sisters mother. She certainly missed them, but with Delia. She had a mother figure, especially since she feels like Delia treats her like her own daughter.
As they readied after breakfast, Ash and Misty were at the side of the road as they were now ready to head out. “We’ll be back after a few weeks.” Ash told her.
“That good to know, just remember what I’ve reminded you.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Ash replied as he blushed with an embarrassed look on his face,
“Ash! Misty! Hang on.” A very familiar voice called out.
They looked and saw Prof. Oak. “Huh? I’m surprised he’s here.” Ash told them.
He managed to catch up to them with Tracey alongside him. “Here to see us off?” Misty requested.
“Prof. Oak did want to see you guys before we left and Daisy wanted me to see you guys off as well.” Tracey replied.
“I’m glad you guys could make it.” Ash told them.
“We are as well. Just don’t forget to go and see Kurt about the GS ball.” Prof. Oak reminded them.
“Don’t worry, we won’t. I’m just surprised it took him this long.” Ash pointed out.
“Well, he’s a very busy man.” Prof. Oak told him.
And Delia went up and handed him a small box. “For you guys when you both get hungry.” She told them.
Misty took it with a smile. “Thanks, Mrs. Ketchum.”
“Yeah. Thanks mom.”
“Don’t mention it.” She replied.
It isn’t long after until Ash and Misty depart and the others watch them, giving off smiles. Tracey went up next to Prof. Oak, wondering something.
“Have you managed to tell them the direction they need to go into?” he requested.
Prof. Oak didn’t look at him as he continued to watch Ash and Misty walk off. “I’m afraid not.”
“Huh?” Tracey was very confused.
“You see, I can’t just send him off down that path myself. That doesn’t work every time. Once he’s ready to know, he’ll find out when the time is right.” Prof. Oak stated.
“I’m very surprised. I thought you said that’s it’s almost time for Ash to learn the truth.” Tracey replied.
“It will be time, soon. As for right now, though. All he needs to do is continue on his journeys and become stronger as he does.” Prof. Oak stated before they departed back for the lab.
Ash and Misty continued on the path that would take them to Johto. Being ready to find out about the secrets of the GS ball. But as they did continue on their journey a man with long grey looking hair, a brown over coat with a grey looking t-shirt underneath, black pants and brown boots and a Meganium right next to him was walking along his own path. As he did, he looked at a map that looked pretty old, but still in good shape as he was in a forest that was on a mountain.
“Hmm. I wonder.” He said to himself and he saw the location of where he needed to be. “Hmm. There it is and it certainly has a been some time.” He commented to himself before he put his map up and continued on before looking to his partner. “So, tell me. How do you think they’ve done?”
“Meg meganium, meg meg. (I think well, but we’ll find out.)” his companion replied.
He nodded a couple of times. “Yep, I agree. I do wonder how many challengers they’ve taken on over this time.” He replied as they continued on their own way to wherever his destination was.
TP1
Tom: With this first episode now finished. We are going to be going through not just a new path, but a brand new journey. Not to mention, some darker elements that he’ll be putting into this series as well.
Sara: There’s a lot to cover and we’ll be covering as much as we possibly can.
Tom: For right now, though. We have some shout-outs: @Yukinakm, @dream_starSOUL, @ChampionBlaze25, @KomisawaS and @corotonton5150. Not only that, but we’re getting ready to start the production on Transformers: The Iacon Knights and hopefully finish up with Finding the Disappearances this year.
Sara: All TimPrime1 has to do is get his head back in the game.
Tom: Once he does, he’ll be ready for more fanfiction work. Also, as for another trailer, it’ll be a bit longer until we can get another one to explain more about what the movie will be about.
Sara: That’s going to be fun. Along with the remake of Dark of the Moon and the sequel to The Iacon Knights – Planetary Rise.
Announcer: So many projects and so little time. Right here on Kids'WB!
Tom: In the meantime. Just sit back and relax. As I push the button. Only Toonami.
Me: Till next time.
TimPrime1 out
