Chapter 1: the accident
Chapter Text
Ben was pissed. Saying that today was a hectic day would be an understatement. It started off as a normal day of eating, sleeping, and saving the day. The first issue was with a math test he had tomorrow, which he didn't study for, not for the lack of trying; he always found it so difficult to stay still and focus on things. The second and main issue is he found an imposter running around pretending to be him. He's still a bit salty with Kevin for pulling that stunt when he was ten.
The imposter was a gray matter named Albedo and wanted the Omnitrix, which led to the current situation. fighting in an abandoned factory, or at least he hoped it was abandoned, or he would be calling OSHA the moment he finished Albedo. "Your Omnitrix will lose power, Yeld!" Albedo shouted as if Ben already didn't know that; he had been counting the changes and time. He only had about one more in him now just to get the spidermonkey off of him because the punches were starting to get annoying. The shouting yeld with each punch wasn't helping either. So using Jetway energy, he blasted the annoying weekly villain away.
Ben quickly swapped to Chromastone, landing on the ground with a meaty thud. He only had a minute left, so he sprinted forward to the smug bastard before he just detransformed. "Ah, oh," he sighed out. Ben really should get better at math. Lucky for him, Albedo was too confident. "I told you! I told you! You have drained your Omnitrix. Whereas mine," Albedo says as he slams the watch, turning back into human form. It was a stupid move, really; he could have won if he had stayed alien. "I don't need an Omnitrix to destroy you," Albedo says confidently before throwing one of the most, if not the most, terrible punches ever. Ben returned this sloppy with a pretty alright punch nowhere near his cousin.
Ben would regret that soon enough; as the punches passed each other, it felt like a magnet pulling them together. The watches snap together, shooting green lighting in all directions, locking face to face, making it impossible to change even if his watch had any more charge. Ben had a bad feeling, but before he could do anything about it, pain filled him; he could only scream as it felt like thousands of volts going through his body. Ben wanted it to end; it felt like something was ripping apart from him, almost being torn out. It felt like he was 10 again on Vilgax's ship, getting the watch ripped from his DNA, but this time it was everywhere. His vision blurred as tears streamed down his face. The ripping feeling went, having failed to rip something from his soul. It then felt like things were being attached or stitched onto his very being.
Ben lost track of time; it felt like days, but in reality it only lasted more than a few moments. The watches shot apart, making Ben fall onto his ass. Ben panted and tried to wipe his eyes to see again. "Ben! Ben!" Gwen yelled, crouched down next to him, having escaped sometime during his torture. Ben looked around for Kevin, noticing him standing in front of them protectively. "WHAT YOU DO TO HIM!" Kevin yelled. Ben had never seen him this pissed, not even when he was mutated at 11. Ben had to look away and back at Gwen as she pulled him into a hug; it felt nice. "What happened?" Ben asked.
Ben wasn't ready for his cousin to pull out a mirror and show him "what?" He could only ask in shock as he looked at his reflection: snow-white hair and piercing red eyes, skin as pale as paper, his outfit stayed the same luckily, but the red and black color of his Omnitrix was new; he was sure he was in shock because you're sure you heard Albedo say something just before a bright green light flashed, and standing in front of him was the creator of the watch looking sympathetic for once.
Chapter 2: creative explanation
Chapter Text
Azimuth is arguably the smartest being in five galaxies, or at least three, and he has made an error. He doesn't admit it often, but he is not that full of himself to admit this was user error. Azimuth looks at what used to be a brown-haired, green-eyed teenage human male, now his chosen user of the Omnitrix. Ben now had long snow-white hair along with red-maroon eyes that, with the pale skin, showed he now suffered from albinism. Not the worst side effect—that would be how Ben is now more feminine than before. Azimuth believes what is in front of him is an anodite mix, as all anodites are female.
Gwen hasn't left their side; they'll be okay to wait a bit longer, so he turns to look at his former student. Albedo, whom Kevin had trapped, it seems, had the great idea to use the Polymorph—a smart idea if he didn't need to worry about a pissed-off Osmosian. who had walked straight into the polymorph, allowing his outer layer of absorbed material to dissolve within it, and yanked the gravity device, turning Albedo into a puddle of shame—an amusing thought.
"Albedo, my now former assistant, do you have any idea what you have done with the inferior Omixtix?" Albedo seemed smug, speaking from his place on the floor. "Inferior! My watch didn't mutate me into a simple bioenergy feedback!" Albedo said with such confidence I couldn't help but chuckle at him. "And may I ask what you think that feedback was doing?"I said, raising an eyebrow, When I said that I was prepared for all eyes to look at me.
"It was my fault when I made the Omnitrix. As you know, Albedo, I had no user in mind; I just wanted peace, but it seems I had expected the user to have pure DNA and mixed species," I explained. At this, Kevin turns to talk to me, still covered in melted cement. He says, "So you're saying Ben changed because he wasn't purely human?" I always liked Kevin straight to the point.
I cleared my throat and explained, "Yes and no, you see, if there was only one Omnitrix." I pointedly glared at Albedo. "Then the watch would assume Ben is three-fourths human; DNA was the base level of the species, as Ben is the species donor. But since there were two, your watch tried to compare your DNA sample as someone transformed to a human albedo, making the watch notice the mistake." I then turn to look at Ben; he wanted to scold him for transforming so much, making the watch enter rest mode, but this whole situation was his fault.
"You watch, they tried to make you into a pure human, trying to rip your Ammodite parts out." I was ready for Gwen to speak. "Anodites don't have DNA; they're pure energy." "Gwen," I said, and I simply shook my head. "Wrong, they can breed; they can look alike. Just because they don't have what we would call DNA doesn't mean they don't have something of the same." I was still upset I couldn't yet anodize the watch. "Your body didn't let go of your spark without a fight, but the watch had to fix your messed-up DNA in its eyes, but—" I turn to look at Ben. "It messed up; you now have all 46 human chromosomes. and an active spark, but it mutated you."

BEN POV"So can I change back?" I asked, somewhat taken aback by the gentle tone. I was just moments away from a panic attack; it certainly wouldn't be the first time. Getting to be a hero at ten years old and watching your grandpa explode himself are not good for his mental health. I could only sigh when I noticed strands of white in my peripheral vision, and, sure enough, it looked like a panic attack was on the agenda for tonight.
Azimuth shakes his head negatively and begins to speak. "I'm sorry, Ben, but forcefully changing DNA can be dangerous. It wouldn't have even activated if the watch hadn't believed you were in danger. It's typically reserved for master control."Ben felt a growing sense of anxiety about how his parents would respond. They had always seemed to disdain anything unusual, and their relationship had never been good. He had even been forbidden from calling them Mom or Dad.
GWEN POV
I couldn't help but notice Ben was slowly getting in her head; it wasn't helping that she was also in her head, as she found Ben cute, which she had never once thought before, but it kind of made a sick amount of sense that the same species would be attached to each other. The first anodite that wasn't old as dirt; of course her spark would communicate more easily with the same species. That gave me a thought. "We will blame it all on Grandma!!" she shouted excitedly. It made so much sense to blame it on aliens Sandra knew about without sharing any more secrets being opened up
Ben looked at Gwen with a smile as she just bought him the world on a silver platter. which made her spark skip a pulse. I knew I was fucked at this moment. "That makes so much sense!" Ben shouted and stood up a bit wobbly. I was about to help when Kevin came and steadied the smaller boy. Ben just leaned into his side and started to mess with the watch. "Easy there, you," Kevin said in that husky voice that made my human half fawn. "Azimuth took Albedo and his watch away and said he'd be back. to talk when everything settles," Kevin once again spoke.
Ben, who was messing with the watch, made a happy noise: "It seems the watch has a new playlist. some new, and I got some older ones, so look who is back," he shouted, slamming a hand on the watch. transforming into a bright red light into Benwolf, but it looked very different; the body that used to be gray and black fur was now white and red (think Okami), with the body suit the form normally wears now being thick blue jeans seemingly transforming into a tight tank top. Benwolf now had the watch symbol on its shoulder. But the biggest difference was how it was skinnier with long, lanky arms ending in thick claws and the fact the alien was now a girl.
