Chapter Text
Hey guys, I'm Anne, basically, I went crazy with this idea, so this first chapter will be about the lore of the city (obviously the city is fictional) and also about the locations, in the next chapter I make the characters
But a disclaimer: there will be original couples!! so if you don't like it, that's okay, it's okay, I really went crazy
---
Wolfsburg was founded in 1906 in Iowa. Founded by English and Austrian immigrants, the city briefly blended customs until World War II, when German immigrants fled the war, marking the first major immigration to the small town. Until the Cold War, the city was relatively "large," but soon after the Berlin Wall was built, people left. However, there was a second German immigration in the 1960s, but the city continued to decline, reaching a population of 8,000.
After the 60s and 70s, the city became remote, it even seemed forgotten. Some people found themselves trapped in that place, or most left as soon as they graduated or even before. Several cases of young people who fled the city happened over the years, which became the event "The Escape." Another event that also happened, but in the 80s, was the modernization event, but it was so unsuccessful that it was called "The Fiasco." However, later during the 90s, they tried, and succeeded in the 2000s.
The places in the city are:
Saint Nikolaus High School - This is the school where the group attended, but it's not entirely important in the story.
Wolfsburg Gazette - This is one of the oldest newspapers in the city, founded in 1908. It's a more traditional, conservative, and resistant to change newspaper.
AM 135.0 (The Voice of Wolfsburg) - The local radio station with oldies, rural bulletins, and daily news.
Wolfsburg Pharmacy - The furthest pharmacy from downtown. It's secluded, near the forest, discreet, and open 24 hours a day.
Nightcade - The downtown arcade, another meeting place for the group.
Grimhollow Dam - An old dam with signs of cracking, closed to visitors.
Crowbell Street - One of the oldest streets.
Wolfsburg Police Department (WPD) - The main police station.
Moonlit Cinema - The town's cinema.
Grimmroot Forest - An abandoned forested area. of the city, closed since 1932
Wolfsburg Town Hall - the city hall, not very relevant
Our Lady of Wounds Catholic Chapel - the city church, where most people go on Sundays, is the oldest church in Wolfsburg
Wolfsburg Plaza - the only "mall" in the city, more like a gallery, and also a small shopping center on the outskirts
Wolfsburg Central Terminal - the city's bus station, small and poorly lit, not relevant to the story
Line 6 (Schatten Trail) - the bus line that serves outlying neighborhoods and forested areas
Line 19 (West Marrow Route) - the longest line, runs through sparsely populated and quiet areas, and is also near the Grimhollow Dam
Oblivion VHS - a video store and rental store popular with young people
Old Fern Reach - a rural area surrounded by swamps and dense forests, quite isolated, where Mick lived before moving to the city
Hinterwald Acres – is a German name for "secluded forest." The farms in Wolfsburg operate differently. They were like boarding houses where poor people or people from rural areas stayed. It's a farm where the Germans who founded the city stayed. It was where Till lived for a time.
Wolfsburg Pawn & Curiosities – is the town's pawn shop, it's quite old.
St. Agnes School – the traditional Catholic school, with a strong connection to the local community.
"Oh but Anne, what could the mystery be??"
you'll find out in a little while.
