“It’s been a few weeks since the red death was defeated. Berk had made friends with the dragons and we’re living together. Life couldn't be any better. It's strange but I'm not complaining” Astrid thought as she sharpened her Axe leaning against stormfly she looked up her eyes softening “turns out you were right, Hiccup your stupid dream came true” she thought turning to the forge where Hiccup was working.
Toothless was there too, helping Hiccup keep his balance. Hiccup had lost his leg in the fight; he was still recovering and he had gotten a hang on having a metal leg but sometimes he would fall. Gober was there too, he was helping out. “business has been a little slower at the forge since we made friends with the dragons, don't you think stormfly?”
Stormfly looked down and tilted her head she understood what her rider meant she squawked in understanding as Astrid signaled stormfly to follow her. As she walked over to the forge hiccup glanced up at her “Astriiid. Hey Astrid. what can I do for you” his quirky voice cutting high as he adjusted his position to look at her. Toothless rolling his eyes in the background at the interaction. “Um no I was just wondering why the forge hasn’t been getting much work done recently”
“Well after the red death was defeated and we made peace with the dragons there have been less dragon attacks and we don’t need to be prepared so often” “I guess that makes sense. How’s Toothless? I’m sure you’re both happy about this development” “oh yeah! We’re both so happy we get to continue being friends. There's the occasional teasing here and there but other than that we’ve been great!”
“Teasing. Why?” “Well because I’m hiccup you know it’s normal by now don’t worry I don’t let it get to me” “no I mean why are people teasing you after you almost died saving them from something you warned them about!-“ Astrid took a deep breath gathering her composure “sorry Hiccup” “it’s fine?” He said with confusion in his voice “why are you sorry exactly?” “For yelling at you, you mutton head. So what are you working on this time?”
“um well I was making a new wing for Toothless. The last one broke in the fire when we killed the Red Death” “hows it coming along?” “good. Gobber’s been helping me out. He took a look at my designs and we’ve made some improvements. I think he's happy I found something I like other than inventing” “is that so” “yeah”
