Chapter Text
Dark.
It was dark in the void.
Particles swirling in the air, sparkling and dying and sputtering altogether.
There were parts of them getting together, blinking and fusing with eachother. And then a bright light shone,
Many call this void as the sweet voice of death, the way it grapples and takes the breath from your lungs as you freeze and die of suffocation in the nothingness in the dark.
There is nothing here.
And there wont be anything here.
But somewhere beneath all that void is a suspense in the everything and nothing. Somewhere beneath all of that death.
Is a…middle.
That’s where the lights were meeting. Its where the particles of nothing, get together and make up something.
Something in the dark. Something in the nothing.
It’s there that the shape of a person started to form. Floating as if a newborn in the middle of the nothing. The light shone all around him as he materialized into the nothing.
He was afloat. Eyes closed and asleep in the nothing.
This is where Cloudy awoke. After he exploded.
Cloudy blinked awake, trying to make sense of his surroundings. It was too dark here.
Where the hell-
His mind stopped thinking when a doorway opened, a large bright shining yellow light coming from the other side of the door. He put up his hands, shielding himself from the light.
A silhouette of a person appeared, walking through as they stood in the doorway, their hands outstretched. Cloudy blinked away the light, and there stood,
..
“Cloudy, come on. Lets go home..”
She said in a soft tone.
Cloudy blinked his two eyes-… two eyes?, his hands flew up to his face, feeling the eye that was scarred now healed. There wasn’t even a trace of a different texture of skin, or any pain and…
He could see.
He focused on his hands, the fabric of his jacket.
And then turned to check his attention back at…her.
“youre not-..why are you here.” His brows furrowed in concern. This was a fake. Because the real Kaz was still alive.
“what are you talking about?” she said, Cloudy was hesitant. Her hands were outstretched and waiting. And he hated to make Kaz wait. “Lets go home.. you had a rough day.”
She smiled so softly and kindly that he took it. Submerging himself in the belief that she’s here he’s home. His fingers met her hands and immediately he felt a surge go through him, his body felt lighter, his mind released of all thoughts, his feet were floating in the air but there was Kaz and she was taking him somewhere.
Cloudy walked to the light,
He shielded his eyes from the sun.
Kaz let go of his hands and he opened his eyes to multiple houses from what seemed like..a village?. There was the sounds of conversation and people around him. Cloudy turned seeing people.
He knew these people.
“Don’t you remember? We’re home Cloudy..” Kaz whispered beside him, snickering in his ear. Cloudy cant help but crack a smile, turning to Kaz seeing her back away with her hands behind her back.
“CLOUDY!” a shout pierced through the peace, there crouched with a hoe in their hand over some grown wheat, was Blep.
“HELP ME WITH THIS BRO I CANT DO THIS ALONE!”
Cloudy shook his head, this..was unreal.
“uh- yeah..” he made his way over.
“come on just help me replant these..” Blep explained, twirling the hoe in his hand. Cloudy noticed that but he soon realized that he didn’t have anything with him “what- but..i don’t have my-“.
A netherite hoe materialized in his hand, his eyes widened at the weight of it on his hands. It was then he realized he was wearing armor too.
“what the-“
“what did you say?” Blep asked, tilting his head to face him. Cloudy stammered, struggling to find the right words. The light was too bright and this felt…unreal.
“nothing. I- yeah.” He crouched down, beginning to help Blep tend the wheat farm.
Oddly, he could feel it, the texture was there. He was actually feeling it, every strand and bump of the wheat. And as he cut the wheat off and threw them to a chest aside, he found himself laughing.
He bickered with Blep for awhile, he couldn’t remember what he was talking about with them. Something about paradise, something about being happy that its over. (whats over? What happened?)
Cloudy turned and leaned back on the fence that surrounded the farm. His gaze lingered over the horizon and the view of the land, his eyes landed over to Kaz.
“Is that..?” Cloudy says, straightening his back and standing, “hm?” Blep hummed in response. There in the far distance was Kaz talking to someone.
And Cloudy cant say for sure but he definitely remembers seeing her before. “oh yeah that’s Zio” Blep responded.
Cloudy felt his heart (theres nothing there) twist and his stomach flipped. He passed over the fence, “theyre..talking? normally?” Cloudy huffed in a mixture of disbelief and joy. Blep shrugged “yeah, they’ve been for a long while now” he leaned on his elbows on the fence.
Cloudy put away his hoe, his movements felt blurry. He walked over to the two. He couldn’t believe it, Kaz and Zio having peace? Two of the people who’s been having so many trouble with eachother (why were they in trouble again?) now standing facing eachother, smiling and talking.
“Zio..?” he said, words gone in the air yet didn’t go unheard by Zio herself. At the sound of her name being called, she turned her eyes towards him and waved excitedly. “Cloudy!”
Cloudy waved back awkwardly, Kaz smiled and walked towards him. “You had a long day, why don’t you walk around?”. Cloudy nodded, his eyes still fixated at his teammate. Zio simply stared back at him, smiling as she did so.
His gaze was torn from her and onto a house, where the door opened to yet another familiar face. Scratch that, there was another coming from the house to his right, the door opened yet again to a masked person.
“Cloudy!” the person in front of him exclaimed, he struggled to match a name for the person.
Lynn.
“lynn…?”
“glad you could make it” Token says next to him, their hands in their pockets, even behind the mask Cloudy could tell when they were smiling.
Lynn wrapped his arms around him, laughing in his ear and jumping excitedly. Cloudy laughed alongside him.
It made him wonder if his entire team was here? Of course they were. He made this place after all, a civilisation of peace. This was what he had planned oh so long ago, a wish that was yet to be fulfilled.
An explosion suddenly rattled through his skull from another side of the land. He and the other rushed to the space, seeing a man rubbing his head on the ground. Soot and ash covered his hands and clothes.
“Ace what did I tell you about the explosions bro” the words left his mouth before he could comprehend them. The man chuckled and was helped up by Lynn on his side. He shrugged, “eh, twas just a test”.
Cloudy snickered and shook his head, “be careful bud” he said. Ace nodded as his conversation with Lynn trailed off into somewhere.
He continued back to a path he hadnt been in, Kaz staying a bit of distance from behind him but always by his side.
“Cloudy! Finally! I didn’t think you would take that long to get here haha!”
The voice came from a bright blonde haired person with green horns sticking out of their head. Cloudy sighed, “yeah..sorry I..didnt know why it took me awhile”. Duck twirled a pickaxe in their hand, “well if anything I hope youre doing great! See you when I see ya!”
They walked past him, it was then that Cloudy turned and saw a red cloaked person in a hole beneath the dirt. She smiled happily seeing his attention was on her. Cloudy bit back another laugh, “ort?! The hell are you doing down there?!”
The voidling simply laughed and scurried off into the ground. Cloudy stood and dug his hands in his pockets.
The sun was setting, were there other people? If so where are they?.
“Cloudy, lets go home” Kaz said, and he followed her as she led them towards one of the houses. A bed situated in the middle.
Blue.
He was home.
He was.
Home.
Home.
Months has passed, it couldve been years.
His house has been bigger now, the used to be measly village now home to their civilisation.
Cloudy breathed the air as he walked through the paths. He’s met a lot of other people here, Noom passed by him while chasing after Kris. “KRIS GET BACK HERE, IM TELLING YOU THAT PUMPKIN WAS MINE-“
He laughed at that.
He wanted to visit someone today, going through the paths he had recognized. He saw the house on the other edge of the street.
“|||?”
His hands swung quickly towards his lips.
What?
He tried again
“|||..?”
“Cloudy?” he gasped and turned to see Lynn standing, looking at him with one wide eye.
“what are you doing in my house? You knowww you couldve told me if you wanted to visit” he smiled, walking up the porch, next to the place he stood.
“i-..no I was..looking for…”
He turned, the house was..did it always have white walls?
“me?” Lynn questioned. Cloudy shook his head, “i- no.” the name was at the tip of his tongue.
Who?
“what. No I..i was..i..there was a person.”
Lynn shook his head and shrugged, “I don’t live with anyone else Cloudy, I don’t know what youre talking about? Have you been hanging around Zio too much?”.
Impossible, Lynn didn’t live alone. He lived with-..
With…
…
“ahah…mustve been my mistake, I guess.”
There was no one. Who was he thinking about?
. ..
.. . .. .
.
They were in a party, fireworks exploding in the air. The sounds of people all around him, food was on the table and someone was being shoved in a barrel of water. (that person is Blep.)
Cloudy twirled in his jacket happily, people were clapping around him. “you really need to try these” Zio said, handing him a slice of pie. “something I was cooking up” she smiled “hope you like it!”
Cloudy took a bite, but nearly choked at the sour taste that filled his mouth. Quietly he spat it out somewhere and left the pie on the table.
The night was alive and there were cheers of all sorts, they were celebrating. Cloudy leaned onto a wall, humming a soft tune while admiring the view of the night sky exploding with color.
“Having a good time?” Token asked, creeping behind him, Cloudy was startled, jumping a little. “jesus token, you scared me haha!” he laughed, Token laughed along with him. “Duck is trying to convince Blep not to drown Zio, its pretty chaotic there.” Token explained, Cloudy huffed “yknow i havent heard zio and Blep do anything back then, crazy how time changes huh..”.
Token didn’t say a word.
Cloudy shrugged and walked over to the crowd. On the way, they bumped to a person.
“sorry!” Cloudy smiled and shook it off, “its alright i-“
The party was silenced in his ears, there was no one beside him. He was standing in the middle of a field and he just bumped to no one.
But the voice was familiar and it brought joy to his heart but there was no one.
“Cloudy!, come on we need to finish that project of yours” Ortharia said from beside him, the sun was shining and there was a sweet breeze in the air.
The smell of morning dew as Ortharia stood and waited for his response.
“yeah”
And the day moved on.
. .. . .
.. . .. ..
.. .
.. .
Cloudy peeked inside the doorway expecting to see them.
“wheres ////// ?”
…
“//////”
His hands flew to his mouth.
“what..”
“oh cloudy come on, lets go back home, you must be tired” Kaz said, taking his hand and leading him off to the streets. This was his home. This was home.
..
.. .. ..
.. . ..
.
.. .
Cloudy laughed as the ball hit the ground, he ran to get it far out in the fields.
“Cloudy” she called out.
But when Cloudy turned, the ball in his hand was gone. He was staring on a mountain, looking down at a cliff with a river streaming in the valley below.
Familiar. But not his home.
He turned to walk home.
.. .. . .
. .
.. .. ..
His mind was nothing but a blur.
He turned seeing a broken wheat farm.
There was someone to tend the wheat right?
No. It was him. He just forgot to do it today.
.. . . .
. .. . .
.
. .. .. .
Cloudy stands on the top of his roof. The stars shining back towards him.
Noom and Kris were bickering about something from behind him.
Someone approached Cloudy from behind him, a hand reaching out to his shoulders.
He turned.
He was in his house.
And the fire was on.
Odd. Truly odd…

He sat by the pond today, watching the fish swirl in the water happily. He threw some bread crumbs, watching them swim around in search for the food.
“that’s the last of it. Cloudy? Do you want to go home now?”
He knew the source of the voice, he knew the voice. He knew them. He-
The sun was setting and he needed to head home.
.. . .
. . ..
.. . .. .
.. . ..
He passed by a cathedral today, the large one just outside of the path.
Oddly when he passed the same street the sun was shining at him instead.

Morning came and he would be in here.
Either that or other times he’d be thinking he was busy, working as if he had a purpose.
Most of the time he’d be here, the wrench in his hand while he rechecked the brewers in his station.
Or maybe he’d be with the turtles, their silent grunts bringing a smile to his face.
Right when the sun sets, his eyes drifted to the clock on the wall that shows the time.
Yesterday there was a sun, today the clock was blank. And he was surrounded by deepslate.
He needed to be more careful honestly, placing the redstone in the wrong direction could cause the entire thing to zap him to death. He shook his head and brushed the dust off his jacket.
He needed to get down…
Cloudy’s hands reached for the sladder as he slid down the tall pillar which he used for his brewer. Smiling and tapping the barrel proudly, this was his pride and joy after all.
Making his way through the hall, he turned to see Kaz standing in the middle of the hallway.
Her eyes were shut and tears were streaming down her cheeks.
In an immediate panicked reaction, Cloudy swiftly ran up to her, his lips parted to speak but no words came.
“its ok Kaz.”
He said instead.
What.
What was ok? Was kaz alright? whats going on?...
“I don’t want to do this.”
“I know”
Suddenly the lights were all flickering, nothing and everything existed in the space where they stood.
Cloudy felt himself straightening his pose out of his will, he was frozen on the spot.
This was what you wanted. This is what youll get.
“Im sorry.”
Kaz whispered and he felt a great agonizing pain as the sword slashed through his chest.

He opened his eyes, he was floating.
There was a platform beneath him, and suddenly a bright light shone from next to him. His hands instinctively raised to shield himself from it.
A silhouette of a person appeared, walking through as they stood in the doorway, their hands outstretched. Cloudy blinked away the light, and there stood,
..
“Cloudy, come on. Lets go home..”
She said in a soft tone.
