Chapter 1: Shopping!
Chapter Text
Katherine took the kids with her to Costco to pick up groceries for the hotel and house.
Ben and Esther were in the car while Abadonn was hiding in the hotel.
“I don’t have time to play these games, we need to get groceries.” Katherine told her youngest son even though he’s a demon in a child’s body “why must we go inside to harvest our crops?” Abadonn asked.
“It's not just crops, we also need to buy you some clothes and other essentials for the hotel and house.” Katherine told Abadonn.
“I’m intrigued by your idea of harvesting crops.” The boy demon said before he walked to the car without any shoes on.
“We need shoes for you before we can go.” Katherine said.
“I don’t need any footwear for the carriage.” The demon said with his arms crossed over his chest before Katherine wrestled some shoes on Abadonn’s feet before carrying him to the car and placing him in his booster seat with the seat belt on before Abadonn could get out.
Once at Costco Katherine took Abadonn’s hand and held it as they crossed the parking lot before grabbing a cart and placing the demon into the seat and buckled him in “unhand me! I don’t want to be restrained!” Abadonn said.
“It’s only so we can go shopping without losing you or you running off and we can’t find you.” Ben said as he helped his mom place stuff in the cart.
Abadonn tried every way to get out of the cart but he was held down by the restraint of the buckle.
“Esther help me get unchanged!” Abadonn said.
“Sorry demon bro, I can’t. Mom thinks it’s safer if you ride in the cart. You do look like a very young child so people won’t question it.” Esther told her brother.
Katherine picked a few new outfits for Abadonn along with some PJ’s and more modern looking clothes so he could blend in more with the family when they go out of the hotel for dinner and shopping.
“Abadonn which ones do you like?” Katherine asked, hoping to get the demon’s opinion on what he wears.
Abadonn looked at the clothes and picked the most basic looking ones while Katherine picked a few more fun looking clothes that 6/7 years old boys wear like superhero PJ’s and other characters clothes.
After shopping it was time to hit up the food court to buy the kids some lunch or a snack to eat on the way home.
Once home the kids (mostly Ben and Esther) helped bring groceries in while Abadonn was hiding in the vents again.
Night time.
Katherine wanted to give Adabonn a bath before putting him a new set of PJ’s “come on kid, it’s time for your weekly bath.” Katherine said “I took a wash last week.” Abadonn said “and you need a bath this week.” Katherine said “you can’t make me!” The demon said before he was picked up by Nathan who took the little boy upstairs to the bathroom “there you go sis.” Nathan said before he left to let his sister wash the demon.
Washing the demon is no easy task as he’ll fight water as if it will burn him (it won’t) “we do this every week Abadonn and you always survive the bath.” Katherine said as Abadonn was splashing and screaming.
After the bath Katherine wrapped Abadonn in a towel and placed him on the counter to brush his hair and teeth.
“Can you please go to your room and get a new pair of underwear out of the drawer and PJ’s on your bed?” Katherine asked, hoping the basic task wasn’t too hard for the demon “what do you think of me, a little boy?” Abadonn asked before he went down the hall to the bathroom and got dressed for bed.
Katherine read to her younger kids as Esther liked sharing a room with the demon. He doesn't sleep but he’ll stay in bed with her till morning and keep watch of her.
Chapter 2: A room fit for a demon!
Summary:
Abadonn gets his own room. Not to sleep in but to just claim it as his own.
Katherine takes Abadonn to IKEA to buy furniture and Target to get the bedding and other room decor.
Nathan helps build the furniture to the best of his ghostly abilities.
Notes:
Every demon needs their own space to call their own. Even if said demon doesn’t sleep and can be a pain in the neck most days.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
After dropping the other kids off at school Katherine takes Abadonn to IKEA to look at furniture for his new room.
“We need a bed, dresser and some storage containers to keep your toys and other stuff in.” Katherine told Abadonn “and my bones?” Abadonn asked.
“Yes, your bones and other random treasures you keep around the hotel.” Katherine said which made the little demon boy happy.
Katherine grabbed a flatbed cart and placed Abadonn on it “think of it as a ride. Like your big wheel at the hotel.” Katherine told the demon who said ok before they headed to look at the kids beds to see which one fits Abadonn.
“Can I get in them?” Abadonn asked when he didn’t need a bed but he liked the idea of having a bed to rest or even sleep in.
Katherine helped Abadonn in the beds as the demon liked the small reversible bed that he can play under. And they can turn it into a bunk bed if Esther ever wants to sleep in Abadonn’s room.
After finding a bed and Katherine took a picture of it so she knew what they needed to pick up they moved over to a dresser and storage unit for clothes and toys “what are those for?” Abadonn asked.
“To keep your clothes and toys organized so they are not thrown all over the room.” Kathrine told her son who didn’t say anything as he was more intrigued by the stuffed animals on display.
“Do you want to get a stuffed animal for your bed?” Kathrine asked the demon “no, it’s ok. I don’t need it.” Abadonn said with sadness in his voice.
“Come on kiddo, pick whatever you want.” Katherine told Abadonn who smiled and said ok before he went over to look at the stuffed animals.
Abadonn picked a stuffed lion as he was happy before he sat back down on the cart.
Katherine picked up some closet organizers and some shoe racks “ok do you want any chairs in your room?” Katherine asked Abadonn who shrugged his shoulders.
“What if we look at chairs that you can relax in?” Katherine asked “ok, if we must.” Abadonn said while he was just happy with his lion.
Katherine picked an egg chair as she thought it fit Abadonn the best since he’s so secretive “no bones in this chair please.” Katherine said “that’s no fun.” Abadonn said.
“If you want to keep them, I’ll get some shelves for you to put them on. But no in the bed or other furniture please.” Katherine said before they went to pick up the boxes they needed and checked out.
Katherine took Abadonn to Target to pick up some bedding and other room decorations to make the room more comfortable for Abadonn.
Katherine placed Abadonn in the cart since he was being a very good demon today so she didn’t feel the need to buckle him in.
Katherine got Abadonn more outfit from the clearance section along with some slippers to wear around the house and a wearable blanket before they found some dinosaur bedding with a blue comforter.
After bedding Abadonn and Katherine went to look at toys as Abadonn didn’t know what he wanted to buy so he needed some help which Katherine was more than happy to help him out with picking toys.
After Target it was time to head back to the hotel since the other kids will be out of school soon.
Back at the hotel!
Abadonn helped bring bags in while Nathan helped bring the furniture boxes in.
“What room is Abadonn’s room going to be?” Nathan asked “the one between Ben and Esther’s room so they can be close to each other.” Katherine said before she brought in more bags from the car.
Once Katherine went to pick up the other kids from school Nathan worked on building the bed while Abadonn was sitting in the room watching him.
Katherine and the kids came home and they worked on Abadonn’s room together as a family.
Abadonn didn’t have much stuff to begin with but in the end he had some toys and more clothes from this century “don’t forget Abadonn’s bones to display.” Ben said.
“Those can go into the kinetic sand so Abadonn can dig them up. But if Abadonn wants to, he can display them on the shelves.” Katherine told her son.
Once the room was all put together Abadonn and Esther played in the room.
“Esther you can play with Abadonn and his new toys but don’t forget to do your homework and chores.” Katherine told her daughter.
“Yeah, yeah, I won’t.” Esther said before going back to playing with the new Lego sets.
Bedtime!
To say that bedtime would be easy with a demon wouldn’t be as hard, you would be wrong.
“Abadonn it’s time to go to your room for bed.” Kathrine said “I don’t sleep.” Abadonn said “I know you don’t, but most of us do, so you need to be in your own room or Esther’s room till morning.” Katherine told the demon who didn’t move.
Katherine picked up Abadonn and threw him over her shoulder as they headed upstairs to Abadonn’s room.
“Can you get dressed or do you need help getting dressed?” Kathrine asked Abadonn “I can get dressed. I’m not a baby.” Abadonn said “if you say so.” Kathrine said going to check on her other kids.
After saying goodnight to the other kids Katherine went to check on Abadonn who was still in his clothes instead of PJ’s.
“Alright I let you do it yourself now I have to get you changed.” Katherine said grabbing a pair of PJ’s and got Abadonn dressed and placed in bed with a small goodnight kiss as if he was one of her other kids.
“Goodnight, stay in your room till morning.” Katherine said before she left to head to her own room.
Abadonn played with his toys and looked at some books before he picked up the tablet that was left in his room and played some games and watched some videos till morning.
Notes:
I went with a dinosaur bedding as it has bones on them and I have a feeling anything bones would fit Abadonn’s personality.
I would also love to do a chapter of the family heading to Spirit Halloween and getting Halloween costumes and Abadonn’s reaction to scary things.
Chapter 3: Wagon for a demon + Halloween shopping!
Summary:
Katherine decides to get Abadonn a wagon that he can sit in so she doesn’t have to keep putting up a fight with the demon boy.
Katherine takes the kids to look at Halloween stuff for both the hotel and their costumes.

Chapter Text
To say taking Abadonn out in public is a challenge would be an understatement, Abadonn has a wondering personality so he doesn’t understand why he needs to stay with Katherine or the kids when they go places.
“Ok, I need to buy a stroller or something that you can sit in so I don’t keep having to rush around the store to find you.” Katherine told the demon.
“You could leave me at home, problem solved.” Abadonn said “no, you need to socialize with others and being stuck at the hotel isn’t good for you no matter if you're a demon or not.” Katherine said.
“What's a stroller?” Abadonn asked “it’s what parents use to keep their kids contained so they are not losing their minds about them going off in public places.” Nathan said with a smile.
“It's mostly used for babies and toddlers.” Esther said stirring the pot to make Abadonn mad.
“I’m no baby! I don’t need a stroller!” Abadonn said “it’s not just for babies or toddlers. A lot of parents use them for their hyper activity kids.” Katherine told her demon son.
“I might get you a wagon that you can ride in and decorate with when we go trick or treating.” Katherine said, hoping to make the demon a bit more happy with the idea of a wagon.
“With blood and bones…..blenders also!” Abadonn said with so much excitement.
“Sure, blenders and bones, maybe some fake blood.” Katherine said while she didn’t like the idea of having blood on the wagon but if it’s fake she can wash it off and still use the wagon for future trips.
Halloween shopping!
Katherine took the kids to Walmart to get some Halloween decorations for the hotel “this isn’t so scary.” Abadonn said from the seat which became such a common thing that he doesn’t fight it anymore (or today at least.)
“Oh we’re going to the Halloween store after this to get costumes. They have some very scary stuff.” Esther said with a smile.
“I’ll be the judge of it.” Abadonn said as he’s lived through scary so nothing scares him.
After picking up some decorations Katherine took the kids to the show section to get Abadonn a pair of shoes that look more modern than his colonial shoes.
“These are just till I have time to order you some better shoes.” Katherine said while she grabbed some slip on shoes and some velcro shoes to see which ones would fit the boy better.
After Abadonn flicked the slip on shoes off Katherine got the velcro shoes so they would stay on and they didn’t have to look all over the hotel for them.
Spirit Halloween!
Kathrine didn’t have a cart nor wagon to keep her young son from running away from her so she was just going to try to hold Abadonn’s hand to the best of her abilities and not let him go.
Abadonn didn’t like not being able to walk around freely as he wished he could “let go of me.” Abadonn said “no, you can’t run off. You may be older but your body is of a young child so that’s child neglect if you run off away from home and get hurt.” Katherine said before showing Abadonn the kid costumes.
“There are some superheroes, animals, characters, what do you want to be?” Katherine asked Abadonn who truly didn’t know as he’s never celebrated Halloween.
“What’s Esther going to be?” Abadonn asked, hoping to match his sister “I’m not sure, Esther, what is your costume?” Katherine asked her daughter “I already told you it’s something we can’t buy. I’m making it.” Esther said “well maybe you can tell Abadonn so you can match.” Katherine said while Abadonn was pulling towards the animatronics “what are those?” Abadonn asked.
“Those are things people put in their yards to decorate for Halloween.” Ben said with his costume in hand “those aren’t scary. I’ve seen scarier things in hell!” Abadonn said till one went off and he got scared clinging to Katherine’s leg “oh it’s ok Abe, I know it just went off.” Katherine said, rubbing the boy’s back.
After getting the kids their costumes it was time to check out. Abadonn was still scared so Katherine held him in her arms while she paid “it’s almost nap time for this little boy.” Katherine said as the cashier smiled at Abadonn.
“Halloween isn’t for everyone, I hope you have a fun time trick or treating with your siblings.” The cashier said “what do you say Abe?” Katherine asked her son “thank you.” Abadonn said before he put his head down again.
On the way home Katherine found a used wagon on facebook marketplace for Abadonn so they went to pick it up “it’s not as fancy as a Wonderfold wagon but it does the same thing.” The lady said.
“Yeah,my son is very attractive so it’s hard to keep him in one place without me losing my mind.” Katherine said after she paid and put the wagon in the trunk.
Notes:
Ben: some sort of magician
Esther: some creature that she made up
Abadonn: first costume Blender
2nd costume: Spider-Man in honor of Jabone.
