An Interview with...!

Summary:

The Solaris-3 phenomenon is the resultant interaction between SUGC Planet ██████ and Solaris-3, culminating in the event designated 'The Lament.'

An interview with…! is a little fun slice-of-life-ish short story project about, as the name suggests, interviews with different characters from the Wuwa universe in transcript form. This compilation is an ongoing series, inspired by j-gems’ “The Interviewed” series and the SCP Foundation Creepypasta. Do leave as much (preferably brutally honest) criticisms as and when, I need to improve after all.

[████ ZULU TIME, FORWARD OPERATING BASE ███████]

Yangyang: The wind whispers spellbinding stories into my ears, do you wish to hear them as well…?

2LT Walker: (Papers shuffling) Uh… no, thank you.

Yangyang: (Chuckling) Very well. No stories. Is there anything I can assist you with?

2LT Walker: (Clears throat) For starters, let's discuss your combat abilities.

Yangyang: I see. What would you like to know?

2LT Walker: How do they manifest?

Yangyang: I wield a sword, calm as the sleeping tide until I bid the currents rise. When the wind begins to hum, that is when danger is nearest, and I am already listening. Would you like to see it in motion sometime?

2LT Walker: (Slowly nodding) Er… right. We’ll save that for another time. And what would be the source of this?

Yangyang: It is not a source you can draw from a map or a database. I am a Resonator, and I simply attune myself to the Aetherial flow — the breath of the planet. My sword is a key, and when I move, I am just giving shape to the Kinetic currents that are already dancing around us.

2LT Walker: I see… so these Resonators. There are more like you?

Yangyang: The wind is rarely alone. There are many who feel the call of the currents, though perhaps not all listen to the same tune. It is not a unique gift, Lieutenant. It is an awakening. Many of us are scattered across the world, each with our own Forte, our unique way of channeling that universal breath.

2LT Walker: Hm… I understand that you are a member of the primary military force of Jinzhou (pause and paper being shuffled) the Midnight Rangers. Correct?

Yangyang: Indeed. Though, my rank and affiliation are a matter of public record, Lieutenant. I thought you had completed your document review. If you're interested in my duties, that’d be an entirely different set of questions, won't it?

2LT Walker: My apologies. We’re going in completely blind here. These questions were pre-planned by Lieutenant General ████████. (Smacks lips) Back to the questions… I understand that the Midnight Rangers’ combat personnel are primarily, if not entirely, made of these ‘Resonators.’ Is that correct?

Yangyang: Combat with Tacet Discords require Tactite weapons, which needs a specific harmony with a Resonance. A feat currently impossible for regular humans. It is rare to survive frontline service with such disabilities. The vast majority of our forces provide logistical support to keep us in the fight. Even with Resonators we pay for every inch we take.

2LT Walker: I see. We’ll have our intelligence division look into this. Thank you for your time.

(2LT Walker packs his belongings and begins to stand up)
