Chapter 1: Reckless
Chapter Text
Jungkook comes from a broken family. His mother had died in an accident when he was just a child. He had been sick and his mother started driving to the pharmacy to get him medicine, but once she was driving a drunk driver had hit her. She died instantly.
Since that Jungkook was living with his alcoholic father. He father would always verbally abuse Jungkook, calling him a disappointment and how he should have died instead of his mother, blaming Jungkook of the accident.
When Jungkook was a child he always had nightmares and he was crying in his sleep. No one knew how much he was hurting, how he had completely lost his self worth, really believing like he was just one big disappointment and how he should die.
That was a long time ago. Now Jungkook was in high school and he had built himself a shell which was fierce, tough and even almost emotionless.
Jungkook didn't think of his mother anymore. No, he had to move on with his life, pick up the broken pieces of his life and act like nothing bad had happened. Jungkook's heart was ice now. He wouldn't let anyone break it. He wouldn't let anyone know about his mother's death or about his alcoholic father. No, Jungkook didn't want anyone's pity.
Jungkook had already moved out of his childhood home. He cut all the ties to his father. He didn't want to see him ever again. He might be cold, but so was his abusive father who hadn't shown him kindness in years.
Now Jungkook was living in the cheapest are in the city when he didn't have much money for expensive rent.
All Jungkook knew was violence after his father always abused him. Jungkook really thought that violence was the answer to everything, how only physical force would be the only way to solve every difficult situation.
After being abused for years, Jungkook had many scars on his body after his cruel father used his leather belt on him, tearing his skin open as he hit the boy's skin with all the strength he had.
Now many years later, Jungkook got into a high school. He was a reckles, always picking up a fight. He was in trouble in general, often getting detention when he misbehaved in classes or just didn't concentrate.
Jungkook was also smoking heavily even at his age and every weekend he drank alcohol and got really drunk. No one ever thought he would make it to high school, not his teachers or the young student himself. To everyone Jungkook was a huge disappointment, but mostly to himself. His life seemed so dark and it was all his own fault. He still couldn't care less about school and education when he was younger. He didn't know how to turn his life around and how to make it all better.
Jungkook even got expelled from his old school after he had punched one of his classmate when he lost his patience completely. After that he had lost all his friends. He really saw red easily and he could get furious in a fraction of a second if someone unfortunate annoyed him and got on his way. Now everyone knew to leave him be.
To many Jungkook looked almost intimidating with his tattoos, piercings and with his raven black hair. No one didn't even look him in the eyes, fearing that they would only provoke him. Jungkook really had a violent character. He was like a volcano that could explode at any moment and how he would destroy everything around him and take everyone down with him.
No one knew, but Jungkook was part of a very feared gang. The leader was an older student called Yoongi who was already out of high school. Jungkook he was the older one's most trusted gang member, his right hand, the bravest of them all.
Jungkook had done many things he wasn't proud of. Since Jungkook was Yoongi's right hand, he was always asked to do the most dirty things that other members wouldn't even dare to do. Jungkook was like Yoongi's trained pitbull, fearless and ready to anything he was asked to.
When Jungkook entered his new high school, he was instantly feared for his black eyes and how he was glaring at everyone with his sharp and cold eyes. Jungkook couldn't care less about making friends, his gang members were enough. With them Jungkook could be himself, to drink, smoke and use harsh language. That was Jungkook's dark life: drinking, smoking, fighting and obeying Yoongi's every command.
When Jimin was walking in the hallway, he accidentally bumped into Jungkook when he was too concentrated on reading his book.
"Watch where you-", Jungkook started angrily, his voice low and raspy, but once Jimin lowered his book, he first saw that blonde boy looking up at him, he fell silent instantly.
Jungkook was almost holding his breath when Jimin quickly apologized with his light and soft voice, "I'm sorry. I didn't look where I was going", he apologized quickly, but unlike everyone else he didn't seem to be frightened by Jungkook's angry eyes or his low growl which would make others tremble.
Jungkook was quiet. He could only stare at Jimin who was looking right back at him with those beautiful eyes.
It was clear how much Jungkook was changing from the inside when he first saw Jimin's pretty face. Only Jimin's smile made him want to change and become a better person. He wanted to make himself proud and he also wanted to be someone who Jimin could love. Jungkook also wanted to prove his teachers wrong.
Jimin was quite naive and so he often got into trouble when he blindly trusted everyone, even people he didn't know. Jimin really was the opposite to Jungkook. He was always smiling, being so kind and easily approached, but he did lack an instinct to see danger.
"Your bruises look painful", Jimin said, looking how Jungkook's eye corner had a painful looking bruise, how his lip had a small cut and a bruise as well.
"Where did they come from?" Jimin was happily unaware how Jungkook was rather dangerous, how he had done many bad things in his dark life.
Jungkook was relieved when Jimin didn't know what kind of monster he was. Now he could be reborn and be a man who could make Jimin fall in love with him. He really wanted to change. He really wanted to make Jimin love him for who he wanted to be and not for who he really was right now.
Jungkook didn't know what to answer without revealing his past, so he stayed quiet.
"Here. Hold this on your eye", Jimin handed Jungkook his cold Pepsi Max can, smiling so innocently all the time.
"Thanks", Jungkook could finally talk, taking the can and pressed it against his eye corner. Oh, how good it felt.
"Are you new?" Jimin asked with a smile, cutely tilting his head to the side.
"Yes", Jungkook answered shortly, somehow feeling so clumsy. He wasn't used to be treated like this, not with such kindness.
"Let's go to the school nurse. I'll clean your lip", Jimin really wasn't scared when everyone else again kept their distance on Jungkook. Jimin couldn't see the truth about Jungkook. No, he really was too naive, always thinking only good things about everyone.
When Jimin almost pulled Jungkook to the nurse's room.
"Sit down", Jimin gestured Jungkook to sit down on the bed.
"When did you transfer here?" Jimin asked with a smile when he started cleaning Jungkook's lip, feeling how cold his lip piercings felt under his small fingers.
Jungkook fell silent again when he could feel Jimin's soft fingers on his lip.
"Just today", Jungkook answered shortly. He really didn't know how to relax and talk more freely. He was scared he would scare Jimin with his roughness.
"Do you like it here?" Jimin asked softly, smiling constantly.
Jungkook only nodded, looking right into Jimin's beautiful eyes, feeling like he was high in the clouds, finally seeing a light in his dark life. Jimin really looked like an angel to Jungkook, his savior and his new friend after losing everyone else in his life.
"All done", Jimin smiled as he placed a small band-aid on Jungkook's eye corner.
"Thanks", Jungkook muttered, watching how Jimin put the first aid kit away and then turned to the older one again.
"Are you hungry? Do you want to get something to eat?" Jimin smiled, moving his hair away from his forehead, that gesture looking so beautiful to Jungkook.
"Sure", Jungkook got up from the bed, following Jimin when he started heading to the school cafeteria.
The whole day, Jimin spent time with Jungkook. Jimin was very talkative, but Jungkook didn't mind, no, he honestly loved the younger one's soft voice and he could just listen him talking for hours.
The same night, Jungkook got into a fight in a dark alley when Yoongi asked him to get his debt back from their enemy gang. Jungkook had went there all alone, beating the other young man, but he got hit as well.
Jimin was just walking home when he heard a low, painful growl coming from the shadows, hearing how someone was falling on the ground.
"Hello?" Jimin called when Jungkook grunted again, taking his phone out to get some light, he soon saw Jungkook sitting on the ground, holding his bleeding eye corner.
"What happened?" Jimin kneeled down with such worried eyes, looking at Jungkook's bruised face.
Jungkook looked at Jimin. He didn't want to let Jimin know about his gang, not about his interference to so many things he wasn't proud of doing.
"Nothing. I'm fine", Jungkook answered then, spitting blood on the ground.
"You're bleeding", Jimin looked so sweet when he was worried.
Jungkook felt like he didn't deserve Jimin's innocence and kindness.
"Here", Jimin offered his hand to Jungkook, so he could pull him up, "I live close. Come over, so I can take care of your eye corner", Jimin smiled his usual adorable smile. Jungkook was looking at Jimin. The younger one really was too kind and unaware of any danger. Jungkook was worried that Jimin would someday get into trouble with his beautiful face.
When Jungkook finally got up, he started following Jimin.
"Why are you out so late? It's not safe here", Jungkook tried so hard to be and sound more gentle when he was with Jimin. He really didn't want to scare that precious boy.
"I was on a dance class", Jimin giggled happily.
Jungkook only nodded. Oh, he could only imagine how beautiful Jimin must look when he was dancing. Jungkook could only imagine how Jimin's body would bend, how he would move sensually and let himself get lost with the music.
When Jimin and Jungkook finally got to Jimin's place, Jimin's parents weren't home like most of the time.
No one knew how Jimin's parents owned a huge company. They were very rich. Jimin's parents weren't very loving or caring towards their son. All his childhood Jimin had had a nanny when his parents were always working. Jimin's parents were practically married to work, the boy was staying at home with his private nanny until he was ten years old.
Since his childhood Jimin had been so lonely at home, being so sad that he always desperately tried to make friends.
Jungkook had never seen such a huge mansion when they arrived to Jimin's home.
"You live here?" Jungkook had to ask.
"Yes", Jimin giggled, almost pulling Jungkook inside, "Come", he smiled beautifully, pulling Jungkook to the bathroom where he kept the first aid kit, so he could clean Jungkook's wounds.
"Sit down", Jimin smiled when he took a piece of band-aid.
Jungkook sat down while he was staring at Jimin in awe, staying silent. He didn't really know to talk with Jimin, fearing he would only sound rough and scary, fearing he would only frighten the younger one if he opened his mouth.
"This might sting a little", Jimin warned, but Jungkook had experienced so much pain, so he didn't even flinch when Jimin started cleaning the corner of his eye.
Jimin was so gentle. When he finished cleaning Jungkook's wound, he gently placed the band-aid on it.
"There", Jimin giggled, getting up from the floor and put the first aid kit away.
Jungkook could only sit there and stare at Jimin in awe. He had never seen anyone so beautiful or heard such a adorable giggle.
Jungkook's life had always been so dark, but Jimin was like a small ball of light and happiness, slowly bringing happiness to his life which had been so violent for many years. Jimin really made Jungkook to become more gentle and even a person who could love and be loved. Jungkook started to feel all warm inside.
Jungkook almost didn't notice how he was already falling for Jimin. The younger one was simply so easy to like with his cheerful and adorable smile and with his petite body that almost screamed people to touch it.
But... Would Jimin ever like him if he knew the truth about the older one?
Jungkook had no idea how much pain Jimin's smile really was hiding.
Jimin had a valvular heart disease since he was a small child. He couldn't even run without getting breathless. Since his childhood Jimin couldn't keep up with children of his age, making the boy really hate himself and his stupid heart that kept him away from everything fun. For years, Jimin only stayed inside, following from the window how other children were running and playing. The boy always felt trapped, trapped to always spend his days indoors.
Jimin hated his stupid heart so much. He had always been alone. Only friend was his nanny who was an older woman who also was more like a parent to the boy when his parents were at the company around the clock.
Jimin always felt so lonely. Since his parents cared more of their company than their own son, Jimin still desperately tried to be a perfect son, always studying hard to get A+, but no matter how many good grades he got, his parents didn't care. His busy parents never complimented him. No matter how desperately he tried to be the best at everything, his parents didn't even smile at him.
The little time Jimin's parents spent at home, the boy always felt invisible. Jimin always tried to get his parents attention, but he only got a quick pat on his shoulder and a small, fleeting smile or a quick hello when they finally came home from the company.
Jimin felt so insignificant. Could he ever get his parents love he so desperately wanted and needed?
"Are you hungry?" Jimin asked when turned to look at Jungkook again.
Jungkook once again just nodded. Oh, how blinding Jimin's beauty was.
Jimin started walking to the kitchen, Jungkook following him closely, just staring at the younger one's petite body from behind.
"You know, it's late. Would you like to stay over?" Jimin asked while cooking, smiling constantly while looking up at Jungkook.
Jungkook was hesitating, but he really wanted to spend as much time with Jimin as he possibly could.
"Would that be okay?" Jungkook asked finally.
"Of course. We have many guest rooms", Jimin giggled softly.
"Well... Okay", Jungkook said once again shortly, but it still made Jimin smile and giggle happily. To be honest, Jimin was always scared to be alone in his huge house when he often had terrible nightmares. In his dreams Jimin was always lost in a dark forest, all alone, screaming for his parents to get him home, but no one came to save him.
After eating, Jimin took Jungkook's hand and started he leading him to his biggest guest room which was so inviting with a huge bed, white walls and with beautiful windows. The scenery from the window was so beautiful with the beach that was so close to the mansion.
Jungkook was speechless. Jimin's life seemed so luxurious, but he didn't know the lonely and sad truth about the younger one's broken life. Jimin really managed to fool everyone with his sparkling smile that always reached his beautiful eyes.
"I hope you'll sleep well", Jimin smiled when Jungkook already layed on the bed.
Jungkook showed a clumsy smile.
"Good night", Jungkook finally said, once again staring at Jimin's beautiful smile before he left the room.
Jungkook turned on his back, staring at the ceiling now, lost in his own thoughts and almost chewing his lower lip.
Could he really change and become a man who deserved Jimin?
Jungkook really did care about Jimin already. Everything in Jimin made the older one weak and scared. He was scared that something bad would happen if he couldn't protect Jimin at all times.
Jungkook sighed deeply. Was he really falling in love for the first time in his life?
It felt like it.
Jungkook slept better than in years. At his home area there was always people fighting and partying. Jungkook wasn't scared, but he often couldn't sleep, so now sleeping at Jimin's home was so peaceful. Jungkook fell asleep fast, tugging under the white blanket, really getting comfortable and all warm.
Jungkook felt so hopeful about Jimin and his kindness, but... Jungkook knew he wouldn't be able to leave his gang. No, he knew that anyone who would try to get out of the gang would get beaten up close to death.
Jungkook felt trapped. He wanted to become a better person, but he knew what would happen if he ever wanted to really change and get away.
Jungkook sighed deeply.
What was he supposed to do now?
Chapter 2: Learning to love
Chapter Text
In the morning, Jimin woke up before Jungkook, letting the older one sleep as long as he wanted to.
Jimin still came to peek into the room where Jungkook was sleeping. He could hear the older one's steady breath. It made Jimin smile, carefully closing the door, so Jungkook wouldn't wake up if he made noises in the kitchen.
Jimin started walking downstairs and to the kitchen, so he could surprise Jungkook one with a delicious breakfast, thinking of making American pancakes with blueberries and sweet syrup.
Jimin was very good at cooking. After all, his parents were always working, so he had to do every meal all alone. Not that he minded, he really loved cooking, but sometimes he got sad when he had no one to eat with. Now when he could cook for Jungkook, he felt beyond happy and he felt joy when after years, he didn't have to eat alone anymore.
Jimin was only wearing his black boxers, he wasn't very confident about his body, but he also didn't have a need to hide it. No, he felt rather comfortable since it was a hot summer day and while cooking close to the stove, he was sweating a little.
While cooking, Jimin put some music on and started dancing to the bass. He really was good at dancing, looking so delicate and sensual when his small body was moving and bending so gracefully. Jimin always got lost in the music and moving his body. Even when he sometimes got breathless when dancing for too long, he wouldn't give up on his dear hobby. No, it was one the fewest thing that made the boy forget how lonely he really was. It was his way to express himself, to let out all the hurt and for a moment just forget about everything.
When Jungkook finally woke up, he followed the delicious smell to the kitchen. There he stopped like hitting a wall when he saw Jimin dancing there all half naked.
Oh, how beautiful Jimin was... He was indeed small, but even more adorable and precious. Jungkook couldn't stop staring. Jimin's body was so beautiful and flexible, bending so gracefully and moving to the music almost like a ballerina.
Jungkook felt like a huge wolf, imprinting to Jimin, promising himself how he would protect the younger one for the rest of his life. He didn't want to be apart from Jimin. Not anymore. No, he would never let Jimin out of his sight, watching over him like a hawk. He would even fight against everyone who tried to get close to the younger one. Jungkook would become Jimin's protector for life.
Jimin did one graceful spin, only now noticing Jungkook who was still standing still quietly, but his lips almost formed a small smile while looking at the younger one and his beautiful body.
"Oh, morning", Jimin giggled, putting the music off.
Jungkook only nodded his head, rubbing the back of his neck. He somehow felt a bit nervous and stiff when he desperately wanted to get closer to Jimin, but he felt so clumsy, not knowing how to gently approach Jimin.
"How did you sleep?" Jimin smiled, staring to fry the first pancake.
"Well", Jungkook answered shortly once again.
"Good", Jimin was giggling. He was too innocent to understand how Jungkook was looking at him.
Jungkook really got worried and protective. If Jimin really didn't understand how he was half naked infront of a stranger, how beautiful he looked, it made Jungkook really worry that the younger one couldn't tell who was dangerous and who wasn't.
What if Jimin didn't understand to fear anyone and who he should be avoiding?
"Breakfast is almost ready", Jimin was smiling constantly, gesturing Jungkook to sit down and wait. When Jungkook sat down, he was still staring at Jimin's beautiful body. Oh, how soft Jimin's skin looked... Jungkook desperately wanted to know how it would feel like to touch Jimin's skin all over.
Jimin really was the most beautiful human being Jungkook had ever seen. Jimin really was both beautiful and so adorable. Everything in the younger one made Jungkook so weak, never feeling like this before, never feeling so vulnerable and protective. Jimin made Jungkook feel so many new emotions after being so cold for years. Now, Jungkook felt so hopeful. Maybe he could finally change and become a better man who deserved Jimin and his endless kindness and pure innocence.
"My parents are away for the whole weekend. Would you like to stay over?" Jimin asked hopefully, smiling at Jungkook when he turned to look at him and gave him a plate full of delicious looking pancakes.
"I can't", Jungkook answered. He had a meeting with his gang, knowing that Yoongi would once again give him orders to get back some old debts.
"Oh...", Jimin was clearly sad, looking down like a miserable child.
Jungkook felt a strange sting in his heart when Jimin looked somehow so broken and miserable. He never wanted to see Jimin so sad, so he rubbed the back of his neck while thinking how he could make some arrangements, just so he could stay with Jimin.
"Maybe I can make some arrangements", Jungkook said then. Even when Jimin already made Jungkook change, he was still very tense and clumsy. He wanted to become more gentle, but he didn't know how, knowing that he might look a bit intimidating with his tattoos and piercings. Deep down, Jungkook really was a good person, but who just had a painful past and a dark life right now when he was part of a gang.
How long he could keep it as a secret from Jimin? What would happen if Jimin would find out? Would he run away?
"Great!" Jimin giggled happily, sitting down as well and started eating.
It was Friday, so Jimin and Jungkook had a whole weekend ahead of them.
"I need to go grocery shopping. Want to come with me?" Jimin asked after he came out of his room, now fully dressed, smiling and looking so happy when he didn't have to be alone for the whole weekend again.
Jungkook only nodded again. He couldn't stop staring at Jimin who looked extra adorable when his hair was a bit messy and how he was wearing a over sized shirt on his petite body.
When Jimin and Jungkook got to the closest grocery store, Jimin was constantly walking right next to the older one, giggling and talking about everything possible. Jungkook was listening quietly, but he was finally smiling. He could honestly listen Jimin's voice for hours and hours, always finding the younger one's voice so beautiful and calming.
Jungkook could soon see Yoongi walking right towards them. Even from from afar Jungkook could see how his boss was looking at Jimin. It was such a disgusting look.
When Yoongi finally came closer, he was still staring at Jimin, practically eating the younger one with his eyes. Jungkook knew well Yoongi's taste in men, knowing how Jimin was just his type. If Yoongi wasn't Jungkook's boss, he surely would punch him right there.
Fortunately, Yoongi didn't say anything about the gang, seeing clearly how Jungkook treasured Jimin and didn't want him to know about the truth.
"He's cute", Yoongi only smirked darkly, whispering in Jungkook's ear, so that Jimin couldn't hear him.
Jungkook gritted his teeth. He was right. Yoongi really had his eyes on Jimin. What could he do to keep Jimin safe?
"Was he a friend of yours?" Jimin asked with a smile when Yoongi finally left.
"Just an acquaintance", Jungkook would do anything to keep his true life as a secret from Jimin, hiding it all and praying that Yoongi wouldn't ever meet Jimin again.
Jimin nodded with a smile.
When Jimin and Jungkook were shopping for food, Jungkook was constantly looking over his shoulder, fearing that other gang members would walk behind a corner and look at Jimin the same way Yoongi had just a moment ago.
"Everything okay?" Jimin asked when Jungkook looked somehow so worried.
"Yes", Jungkook only said, now looking at Jimin again. Jimin didn't quite believe Jungkook, but he didn't want to insist and push Jungkook to be honest. Jungkook really looked like something was bothering him. It made Jimin worry.
Later when Jimin and Jungkook got back to the younger one's home, Jungkook followed him to the kitchen and silently helped him to unpack the groceries.
"Where's your parents?" Jungkook asked when he realized that for a whole night he hadn't seen Jimin's parents at all.
Jimin looked down and Jungkook could see how his usual smile fashed away again. Jimin looked so sad.
"They're at work", Jimin finally whispered.
"All night?"
"Yeah. They... They don't really care about me", Jimin nodded while holding back his tears, looking down while putting the groceries in the fridge.
Jungkook's black eyes started to soften. Jimin was clearly very broken about his parents always working rather than spending time with their son.
"I'm sorry", Jungkook said, feeling rather clumsy when he tried to comfort Jimin the best he could.
"It's okay... I'm already used to it", Jungkook could still tell how sad Jimin still was. How he desperately just wanted his parents love and their time rather than just money and gifts to fill the void.
"You're not okay", Jungkook took a step closer to Jimin, making the younger one look up with his teary eyes.
"I really am okay. I... I have you now, so I don't feel so alone", Jimin said it so sweetly that it made Jungkook speechless. The way Jimin said it was so adorable, making Jungkook desperately want to be part of Jimin's lonely and broken life.
Jungkook really didn't know what to say to sound gentle, so he only smiled while looking at Jimin when he tried to dry his eyes.
"I'll start cooking", Jimin then giggled, acting like he didn't just have a weak moment right infront of Jungkook.
"I'll help", Jungkook said. Jungkook was very skilled at cooking. It was a passion of his. Jimin was constantly looking at Jungkook while cooking. Jungkook really knew how to use the knife so skillfully.
Jimin was giggling again while following Jungkook's cooking. It was so fascinating to see how focused Jungkook was and how he almost didn't see anything around him. It was just him, the ingredients and his knife.
After eating, Jungkook was taking a shower while Jimin was reading in the living room, smiling when continuing that romantic love story while giggling at a sweet scene. After finishing a chapter, Jimin was just about to go to his room when he accidentally bumped into Jungkook just like when they had met for the first time.
Jungkook was topless, so Jimin could now see his bruised and scarred body for the first time. He covered his mouth with a shocked gasp, looking so worried to see Jungkook's broken body.
"What has happened to you?" Jimin carefully took Jungkook's right bicep and looked at the spot that had the most fresh looking bruise. Jungkook had gotten it that evening when Jimin had found him on the dark alley.
Jungkook was quiet. He didn't know what to lie, so he didn't say anything, but only looked at Jimin who was still holding his bruised arm.
"It looks painful", Jimin spoke so softly, clearly so worried. Jungkook had never felt this way. Jimin's kindness really was all he needed to change and to become a better person.
"Have you gotten into a fight?" Jimin finally asked.
"I fell while driving a motorcycle", Jungkook really hoped Jimin would buy his lie.
"Does it hurt?" Jimin was so worried, now looking up at Jungkook.
"No. I'm fine", Jungkook said, showing a small smile.
Jimin nodded, but he couldn't stop wondering... Was Jungkook only acting so strong or was he really like this? It seemed like Jungkook didn't feel pain at all. Or was he just so good at hiding it?
"I'm going to bed. Sleep well", Jimin smiled then, yawning sweetly that looked so adorable to Jungkook.
"Good night", Jungkook smiled faintly, staring at Jimin's back when he walked to his room.
Oh, how he was in trouble... Jungkook could feel how his heart started to feel warm, how all the ice inside started to melt and how he could finally smile. Jimin really had casted a love spell on Jungkook.
Later when Jimin had a nightmare, he woke up in horror, his eyes wide and teary. He sat up while gasping for air, holding his chest, feeling pain right in his heart that ravished his whole body.
Jungkook was just coming back from the bathroom when he could hear Jimin gasping for air and whimpering weakly.
"Jimin?" Jungkook came to Jimin's room, putting the lights on, so he could see the younger one on his bed.
Jimin was holding his chest while gasping and shaking.
"What's wrong?" Jungkook rushed to Jimin who could only point at his chest while wheezing weakly.
Jungkook started to panic.
"What can I do?" Jungkook sat right next to Jimin, starting to caress the younger one's back, trying to calm him the best he could. Jimin was shaking as he tried to point his oxygen bottle and a mask next to his armchair.
When Jungkook quickly picked the oxygen mask, he placed it on Jimin's face carefully, looking at the younger one so worriedly.
Jimin started to breath more calmly, but he was still wheezing.
Jungkook was still caressing Jimin's back, doing his absolute best to help the younger one calm down.
"Thank you", Jimin whispered while tiredly closing his eyes, holding the mask and tried to breathe properly.
"Are you sick?" Jungkook asked gently.
"I have valvular heart disease", Jimin answered while closing his eyes again, breathing deep and slow.
"Is it serious?" Jungkook asked, looking at Jimin closely.
Jimin shook his head. In reality, Jimin's condition was quite serious and he needed an operation, but he didn't want to tell anyone about it. No, he wanted to live as normally as he possibly could.
"Do you need anything?" Jungkook asked as he was still caressing Jimin's back.
"No, I'll be fine", Jimin answered, slowly calming down.
"How long have you been like this?" Jungkook stayed by Jimin's side.
"Since I was three. Ever since then I haven't been able to run or play with my friends. I was always staying indoors... Since that I've always been alone", Jimin spoke quietly, his voice sounding so sad and broken. All those years he really had been all alone.
Jungkook was listening quietly. It was clear how much Jimin was hurting even when he was always smiling.
"I'll be your friend", Jungkook said, trying to sound gentle. He really would. Yes, he hoped for much more, but even being Jimin's friend would make him happy and... Maybe Jimin would learn to like him too the way he hoped.
"Thank you", Jimin whispered, but his smile was even brighter.
"You should continue sleeping", Jungkook pulled a blanket around Jimin's body, tugging him in gently.
"Good night", Jimin smiled sleepily.
When Jimin fell asleep again, Jungkook stayed by his side, looking down at the smaller one.
Jimin was sleeping with his mask on his face, still wheezing from time to time.
Jungkook couldn't hold back as he moved Jimin's hair away from his forehead, touching very gently and carefully. Oh, how he wanted to be like this forever...
Jungkook sighed. He really did like Jimin, but he was worried about the future.
What will happen if he would confess to Jimin? How could he be a good boyfriend when being part of a gang? How could he really change and be a man who deserved Jimin and his endless kindness?
Jungkook sighed deeply. What was he supposed to do?
