“Welcome to my place,” Kaiser says as he helps you carrying your stuff into his – now your and his – apartment.
You drop your final box down before straightening up and wiping your sweaty forehead with the back of your hand. “You say that like I’ve never been here before,” you laugh.
You two are a couple, who are moving in together for the first time. It is a big step in your relationship, one you have been looking forward to. Kaiser has also been looking forward to it, thought he always tries to brush it off with his cool and suave demeanour.
“We would spend more time at your place–” he starts.
“But I know this place well enough,” you cut him off. “See, I’ll show you…”
You move from room to room, naming its function and pointing out any points of interest. Finally, you come to his bedroom.
“And this is your – our – bedroom… Right, only one bed,” you hesitate.
“Did you forget?” Kaiser smirks.
“Of course not!” you puff out your chest, but then it deflates as you chuckle nervously. “It’ll just be such a big step, to spend every night next to you. It will take a bit to get used to.”
Kaiser brushes past you into the room. “Don’t worry,” he smirks, “I don’t have any nasty sleeping habits.”
“Riiight,” you say in mock doubt. “If not for our occasional week-long holidays away, I never would’ve agreed to this,” you laugh.
“Then I suppose we have my team manager to thank for allowing me the rare time off from practice,” Kaiser nuzzles your ear.
You giggle.
