Chapter 1: An Apology

Chapter Text

It’s another day in Kincaid academy, and Rev couldn’t seem to get up. Yesterday was… chaos. He couldn’t seem to think, move, or feel properly, and it wasn’t the potions’ side effects.

“Rev? Are you okay?” Asked a curious Mark.

“Fuck off, vampire.”

“Okay, okay! I get it. You just seem… lost.”

“I’m fine, Mark. I just need some time to think for a bit.”

“If you say so! By the way, Rehabilitation starts in 7 and a half minutes!”

“Yeah, fine- WAIT, WHAT?! WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME EARLIER?!”

He scrambled out of bed, rushing to get his uniform and spellbook. Maybe he could apologise to Bella. About flirting with her under the influence of a love potion. About causing the whole situation. About being childish. Or he won’t. It depends if they see each other at all. Rev quickly ties his tie, and rushes to class as fast as he can before the bell yells in his ear.

Rev sighs as he walks to class, with the vampire trailing behind him. Why did Mark stay with Rev anyway? He was always a jerk to Mark. Whatever… not like it mattered to him. He just needed to find Bella to give his stupid apology and be on with his day. As they were about to step into class, Bella pushed past them, as if the room was her only life source.

“Bella! Wait a second!” Rev called out to her.

She turned, looking down at the red and black carpet below her.

“C-can we talk after class? I have some w-work to do…”

Before the revenant could answer, she scurried off to the front of Rehabilitation. Guess after class is the smarter choice anyway…

He sat down in his usual spot, followed by both Mark and Sera, all ready for the boring lecture about… to be honest, the lecture was so utterly boring that I can’t remember either, and I’m the author! Oh, right, bad time for my yapping sessions…

“UGHHHHH! That lecture SUCKED ASS!” Rev complained, just as he always does.

“Uh… Rev?”

“AHHHHHH”

“WHAT? IS EVERYTHING OKAY?”

“YOU SCARED ME, BELLA!”

Bella lets out a disappointed sigh, “You absolute wimp.”

“I’M NO WIMP! IM A MAN!”

“Whatever you say… so you said you wanted to talk to me? About what exactly?”

“Oh! Right… I wanted to… apologise. I shouldn’t have made a potion without knowing all the ingredients.”

“…is that all?”

“UGHH! Fine. I shouldn’t have made a potion at all, flirted with you, been childish and all the other stuff. Is that enough for you?”

“Good enough. Thank you for actually apologising.”

“Yeah, yeah.”

“Uh, by the way… um…”

“What is it?”

“Mind if I could… join your lunch gang?”

“Uh, yeah, sure, whatever.”

Rev was actually quite excited that someone not annoying would be joining him at lunch - maybe it would make Mark’s yapping sessions more… tolerable. Not like it actually would, but it’s the possibility that makes him happy. An actual friend for Rev… how interesting.
