Chapter 1: it's just a dream
Chapter Text
It's only been two weeks since they came back from their breaks, class hasn't started yet for another five days. Wednesday woke up with a jolt, air rushing into her lung, gasping, eyes wide, filled with fear and the cold of the room seemed to bite into her skin as she tried to regain her composure. The memories of her nightmare are fresh in her mind. A repetition of what happened that night in Crackstone crypt before Goody came and healed her so she could carry out her revenge.
The problem is Goody's power only healed her partially so she'll have the strength to fight the nasty pilgrim but after that she's on her own. The healing process was a nightmare and unpleasant as she remembered waking up in the hospital. Both her parents are coddling her and being unbelievably affectionate. Her relationship with her parents has somewhat improved, Turns out it only takes a near-death experience to bring a family together.
Her body shakes with a sob she didn't even know bulding. Racking through her body so harshly she felt nauseous, with hands over her mouth to stifle the choked sound, breathing harshly and using the box method Dr.Kinbott had suggested. Curling into her stomach and pressing her head on top of her knee, she shut her eyes tightly, images from that night still playing in her head. Wednesday pressed her nails into her forearms hoping the pain would distract her from the flashbacks.
______
Tyler held her by her neck, dark eyes blazing with anger. His face seemed to be permanently in a scowl while Thornhill was telling her about how she's going to resurrect the pilgrim to destroy all Outcast for good.
"You're the key Wednesday. You and that obnoxious principal almost ruined everything with that trick of hers. Too bad she's dead now." Miss Thornhill (Gates, whatever her name is) spat out. She seemed to be seething with anger until she looked at Wednesday with a glint in her eyes. She seemed pleased seeing Wednesday chained up and struggling to breathe. "Bring her to me, Tyler baby" she almost cood.
Tyler dragged Wednesday by her neck, the blood moon seemed to be haunting the sky. Panicked, she tried to flee. Kicking and choking against his hold until she was roughly thrown into the cold stone. She couldn't even get a second to gasp for air as her dorm mother grabbed a hold of her hand and sliced her palm. Choking on the air, the blood dripped to the concrete floor until her hands were slammed on the symbol in front of her.
Eyes wide, feeling her energy drained from her, the wound seemed to heat up until she hissed at the pain. Her head pounding with blood slowly tickled down her forehead, arm cramping, trying to snatch her hand back to safety. Thornhill was muttering a spell, her eyes looked wild and her breathing laboured excitedly as the room began to glow in neon green.
At last, crackstone stands tall, bones and whatever remaining flesh he has. His eyes seemed to bore into Wednesday as he accused her of being her ancestor. Goody Addams. Wednesday cursed as she tried to stab him, only to be thrown onto the pillar and stabbed by the same dagger her palm was sliced open. The blood poured as she slumped against the pillar, breathing shallowly trying to stay awake.
The pilgrim moved, making his way to Nevermore as Thornhill told Tyler to dispose her. Ruin her spirit so she won't come back to life to stand in a way. Wednesday are aware of her body being moved. Eyes fluttering, trying to see past the blurriness. Her skirt was roughly pushed upwards as her underwear was discarded harshly, leaving a red streak on her thigh from the friction. Wincing, she tried to kick whoever was undressing her, but that quickly stopped as she was slammed against the asphalt, making black dots swim in her vision. She sobbed, body shivering from the pain, head pounding against her eyes. She's going to die.
Tyler eyes were dark and cold, filled with lust as it racked through Wednesday's body. Her blouse buttons are undone, exposing her black lace bra to him. His hands snaked inside fondling it, pinching and pulling, making Wednesday wince and her eyes watered. She's confused fully assuming they would kill her but perhaps death is more merciful than this. As she lay there breathing harshly, Tyler hands kept roaming. All over her body, hiking up her skirt again to hook his arms under her legs, pulling her close. Wednesday felt like deadweight as he manhandled her. The drowsiness and blood loss is preventing her from thinking properly as Tyler inch his face closer to kiss her.
"Are you enjoying this Wednesday? I've always wanted to fuck you. That's all I ever wanted." Tyler chuckled darkly as Wednesday gave a choked scream as she felt him penetrating her with one thrust. Disgusted and horrified as his member tears her apart. He didn't give her any time to adjust to his size when he started to thrust repeatedly, his member never fully pulling out, only until the tip as he slammed back down. The only sound that could be heard was the slapping skin of their hips and the grunts coming from him as he pounded into her. Wednesday started to dissociate, desperately wanting this to be over or to have take her away. Suddenly, she was flipped onto her stomach, the knife shifted inside her, going further to the side. She screamed from the pain and the feeling of Tyler thrusting into her rear end. Hot tears stream down her face while Tyler continues to violate her body. "You love feeling me inside you don't you? God, if this was all it takes for you to shut up and for me to fuck you, I would've done this sooner" He sneered into her ears.
"STOP STOP AHH" Wednesday shouted hoarsely, the time seemed to stop when Tyler thrust faster and deeper, bruising her hips and grunting like an animal. Few more thrusts and he pulled out moaning loudly as-
_____
Wednesday shakes her head to get rid of the dream. Tyler has left her to bleed out once he's done with her body. She still remembers how he looked at her with so much hate and she shivered, body tensed, feeling sick to her stomach, she rushed to the toilet and spilt her guts out into the porcelain bowl. Coughing and heaving, her throat covered in stomach acid and a little chunk of bread from dinner. Clutching her abdomen, feeling phantom pain from her scars, she shut her eyes and gritted her teeth so harshly you can hear them against each other. Getting up from the floor to clean up the evidence of her moment of weakness, she washed her face and brushed her teeth to get rid of the acid in her mouth. The cold water trickling down her face, she exhaled a shaky breath as her muscles tensed and untensed, unsure if she was safe or had to flee. She looked into the mirror; her skin looked paler than usual, ashy grey, while her dark circles became more prominent as the days went by. She shut her eyes harshly fighting the tears. "Pathetic, crying because of a little nightmare. Get a grip of yourself. No one should ever see you like this." The little voice inside her speaks.
sighing she went back to her bed. Phantom touch and pain plague her as she tries to focus on one spot of her ceiling. Breathing harshly she crossed her arm against her chest tightly, the pressure was welcomed with a relieved sigh. Her breathing gradually slowed as she turned her head to the side of the room. Enid's side doesn't make her want to claw her eyes out with her silver dagger as she looks in the dark, searching the room for anything remotely suspicious. The large King bed with the nauseating pink comforter looked dull in the dark, saved for the light from the moon.
She was glad her roomate is not here with her. She went to Bianca's room to have a sleepover, Yoko and Divina are with them. Thing is with them too, gushing and twirling getting his nails done- Probably gossiping about the newest trend. Wednesday had declined as she's not a fan of socialising. She hopes morning will come soon so she can start her routine and put this moment of weakness behind her. So Wednesday waited, fixating on the chipped paint on her wall, waiting for her alarm clocks to ring. Until then, she won't relax. Her hands clutching tightly on the dagger under her pillow. Eyes wide and body tensed like a statue. It's a little after 4 am when she started to feel like the room was closing up on her. Sighing she silently scolded herself to snap out of it.
Slowly she peeled her heavy blanket, her eyes bloodshot and heavy, grabbed her blanket and put it on her shoulder so it would hug her body to provide warmth. She debated whether she should start her morning early and have a walk before breakfast or write her novel. Making up her mind, she carefully stands up as if daring the dizzy spell to be upon her. When she's sure the room no longer spins, she walks to her closet to prepare her clothes for the day: black pants and tops. Once she gathered all her things she started the shower, Her braids came undone as before she let the water hit her. The water seemed to be colder during this time of day since no one else was using it. She washed her hair with a shampoo made with Coconut and black petal rose, a little bit of wood ash was mixed too, courtesy of grandmama.
She basked in the water longer than usual until she started to shiver. Brushing her teeth and spitting it out, she dried her hair. Now dressed and brushing the tangles braids her hair again tightly against her scalp. She slowly walked towards her desk where her key writer and novel are placed. She will write until an hour before breakfast, leaving her enough time to ponder in the woods before facing the world. She does not look forward to another overwhelming day with Enid and her friends. Enid had said that her friends are Wednesday's friends too, but she had dismissed that, saying she prefers solitude. in truth, she's afraid of what comes from being her friends. Doom seems to keep following her wherever she goes, not to mention that she is hiding her autism. Sitting down, she started to type, continuing how Viper was locked in a secluded room and how the character would escape. The room is dark, the only light source are from her warm desk lamp and the moonlight. She glanced at the clock, "4:44 AM," glaring at the numbers displayed on her dusty clock. She focused her full attention on her novel and continued typing. The sound of her filling in the room.
She's not sure how long she sat there, too immersed in her story. She checked the time "6:06 AM." Eyes widening a bit, she finished up her chapter quickly and went to her closet to get her combat boots and coat. Making sure she has enough daggers, knives and shives, Glancing into the room one last time she went out to Ophelia's hall, locking her door and making her way to the "quad" into the forest so she can start her morning walk. If she's lucky enough she'll find a monster lurking around just to take her life. Sighing she avoided the muddy area and went straight to the cemetery, feeling nostalgic and a bit homesick. She wonder if she can go home for the weekend but it's only been two weeks since she's here. Maybe she can crystal ball her mother after breakfast, if Enid hasn't yet come back to their room. Thinking about Enid, Wednesday's heart felt like it was poked. Confused and finding pleasure to the slight pain she kept walking.
As she sat at the cemetery, she slowly inhale the scents of the wet earth and decaying corpse. It reminds her of home. As time went by, her mind wondered to a certain wolf, Ajax and Enid had broken up over the summer for a reason Wednesday doesn't know but when she offered to nail gun his pitiful snakes and dispose his body, Enid had said that he didn't do anything wrong and it was her decision. She still talks to him when they occasionally meet. They had been friendly, as if nothing bad had happened so Wednesday let it go. She still glared at that gorgon every time he get close to Enid or when he say something stupid and upset Divina and yoko with his single working brain cell.
Shaking her head as she was slowly getting agitated every time the thought of that damn gorgon popped up in her head, she thought about what Enid do during her sleepover. what blinding colours did she paint her nails this time, if she's going to wear that ugly pink sweater with a huge unicorn plastered in the middle of the fabric or if she dyed her hair again making it looked like a rainbow threw up on top of her head. Glancing at her wristwatch, noting how it's almost breakfast she hastily packed her things and walked back towards Nevermore. The whole time she was walking, her heart tug painfully, leaving her almost out of breath when she see her bubbly roommate across the quad. Confused and slightly troubled she just silently walk towards the table.

Chapter Text
Enid walked to the quad, going to the table where Yoko and Divina were already seated. Her tray slid over the table, since she’s literally a growing wolf; her tray was almost full. Full of red meat, mashed potatoes, an apple and an orange juice. The apple almost rolled over when she was seated, having slid her tray with a little more force than necessary. She felt slightly on edge that morning.
“Hey! Have you guys seen Wednesday?” Enid asked almost immediately. Wednesday haven’t been in their room when Enid came to freshen up. Knowing her, she’s probably in the woods doing whatever she's doing, still Enid worries. She hasn’t seen Wednesday as much lately and after what happened last semester, everyone had been more cautious and alert. The Nightshades in particular were very determined to protect the school, taking their oath more seriously.
“Probably torturing some poor kid for looking at her with adoration” Biance mused as she sat down next to Divina who’s poking at her pudding.
“HAH, yesterday she literally pushed someone when they bumped into her. She seem more grumpy lately” Yoko laughed.
“He had it coming tbh, everyone know to steer clear of Wednesday’s path- heyyyy Wednesday, what’s up girl!” Divina exclaimed in surprise, almost choked on her food as she saw the goth approach the table.
“Maybe chew before you talk Divina. Don’t want you to choke when you can drown instead.” She snarked back. Everyone looked at the pale girl standing in front of them, unsure what to say. “Enid.” She greeted as she sat next to Enid, not close enough to touch but close enough to feel the girl's body temperature. A plum in hand and a book in the other. She quietly bit into her plum while reading her book, occasionally stopping to wipe the juice from her lip.
“Wednesday! Where were you? You weren’t in the dorm.” She leaned into Wednesday so they could have a little conversation as the other barked out laughter at Divina.
“I was at the cemetery. Enjoying a cold morning walk. It was dreadful.” Wednesday replied with the same monotone voice as she side-eyed the wolf. Enid seemed satisfied with the answers and started to dig into her breakfast, eating it slowly as the other Nightshades joined them. Enid slowly slid the apple from her tray to Wednesday. Enid’s breath hitched as she felt the cold fingers brushing on her right pinky when the latter girl took the apple silently. Slightly dazed, she gave Wednesday a wide smile. If the others noticed, they didn’t mention it.
While they had their own moment, Ajax had come and sat at the end of the table talking to Kent about the new Botany teacher. Enid saw how Wednesday’s eyes shifted slightly when she acknowledged his presence, eyes narrowing slightly and giving a glare, it could wake up the dead. Enid was amused by this, ever since she told the girl her relationship with Ajax has come to an end, Wednesday seems to look at Ajax in a more threatening way. She hasn’t told her the cause of the breakup of course. She hasn’t told anyone actually. The only thing she say was that she’s a lesbian which is true but also because she had found her mates the night she shifted.
Yes, mates. Enid has 3 mates which freaked her out to the point she’s in tears because not only she’s mated to the emotionally constipated Wednesday Addams. She’s also mated to both of her best friends who are already in a relationship, Yoko and Divina. It absolutely ruined her and kinda makes her feel a bit like a homewrecker. What if they don’t feel the same way or worse, this whole thing can ruin their friendship? Wednesday isn’t even big on romance or even feelings, her experience with relationship was with that Hyde last year and that was a disaster. Enid wondered how she will react to the fact that she’s now bonded with the werewolf and the siren and the vampire. She’d understand if she’s completely put off from romance alltogether but for Enid’s sake, she hopes the girl will at least think about it first. The first few days she was back at Nevermore she had avoided Yoko, Divina and even Wednesday but of course the goth girl didn’t even notice it.
Sighing quietly, she shakes her head and tunes into the conversation that is happening. Yoko and Bianca were laughing to what Kent said while Divina was smacking her twin brother in the head. Wednesday was still reading and was halfway through her apple, occasionally throwing a deathly glare towards Ajax, who was shifting in his seat, shoving a spoonful of his food into his mouth. Xavier, Eugene and Pugsley came shortly and took a seat. Xavier was looking at Wednesday so intensely through his sketchbook that it made her inner wolf growl in annoyance. Everyone knows how obsessed he is with Wednesday to the point that it is actually concerning. No one should be able to look at her mate that way, let alone that lanky obsessive artist. She’s not even sure why he still hangs out with them, probably because he’s a member of The Nightshades.
“Wednesday! Do you want to go check out the bees later? There’s a new queen and I want to transfer it to a new hive.” Eugene's eyes were bright with curiosity and expectation.
“I suppose that’s acceptable. I will accompany you later in the evening.” Wednesday without looking away from her book replied. Her voice was monotone as always but there was a hint of softness in there too. She has always a soft spot for the bee boy since last year as he reminds her a lot of her brother.
Eugene nodded, satisfied and then continued to talk with Pugsley about how he’s able to manipulate other bugs now and not just bees. Xavier is still drawing in his sketches, throwing looks at Wednesday. Enid leaned over and scooted a bit closer to shield his view while smiling brightly, half listening to what Bianca was saying. Wednesday’s shoulder seems to have sagged a little bit. She had finished her apple and is slowly rising from her seat, tucking her book under her armpit.
“You’re leaving?” Divina pouted slightly, eyes wide and shining.
“Yes, I will use this free time to do something more productive than sitting here in the sun chit-chatting.” She made eye contact with Divina, her voice sharp, almost mocking yet her eyes were soft. Enid of course, noticed.
“pfft, it’s okay babe let the little goth go, I can entertain you” Yoko shamelessly winked and cupped the siren’s face, smiling at her giggly partner.
“Do not ever call me that again if you value your life, Tanaka. Enid, I will see you at our dorm whenever you decide to bother me with your annoyingly persistent presence.” After threatening the vampire the girl turned around leaving Enid and her friends.
Scoffing but also amused, Enid turned back to the table. She thought about how Wednesday only ate fruits. It's not unusual for Wednesday to eat so little or skip meals altogether but it had been almost two weeks since she had seen the girl eat a real meal. Maybe she’s worrying too much. It’s just Wednesday being Wednesday, even tho she looked paler than normal, but maybe it’s because the girl hasn’t been exposed to the sun as much during her break. Enid’s brows are slowly knitting closer as she thinks about it. Her roommate hasn’t been talking that much. Sure Wednesday doesn’t talk much anyway, but this is almost too quiet. It’s almost as if she’s trying to be invincible, maybe she should check up on her later when they’re alone.
Pugsley called out to Wednesday before walking beside her, his eyes wide and shining. Whispering something to his sister while the other girl was glaring at him and waving at him dismissively. Enid noticed this and it only made her wolf more unsettled. Could Wednesday be hiding something from her? Taking a deep breath, she caught Yoko’s concerned eyes and gave her a small smile.
“Enid. We would love to invite you to the Nightshade secret society. Wednesday is welcome too. We can do the ceremony tomorrow night.” Bianca hushedly said to the table.
“Good luck with that. Wednesday declined our offer last semester, remember?” Xavier scoffed, rolling his eyes and scowling.
“Oh shut up Xav, maybe she just doesn’t want to be around you.” Yoko glared at him, her tone sharp, biting.
“Whatever, he would be safer with me anyway.” He retorted, almost smug. He have this smirk on him, it gives out an unsettling energy to the table. Slowly packing his stuff and planning on leaving.
“She got shot with an arrow because of you Thorpe. I don’t think so.” Enid practically sneered at him
“Calm down pup, he’s not worth it.” Yoko leaned over to catch her hand and brush her knuckles, sushing her. “Now, do you wanna accept our invite or not? maybe we can even throw Xavier out. He doesn’t do anything anyway. Plus, he lowkey gives me a hibby jibby vibes.” She tilted her sunglasses slightly with her other hand so Enid could see her deep red eyes.
“YES! YES YES YES!!” She exclaimed with so much excitement that she jumped in her seat. “I’ll convince Wednesday to say yes too. If I’m joining, she has to join with me!”
Everyone looked at the wolf with amusement and chuckled. Enid was too excited to notice that Yoko’s hand was still holding hers. How Divina was glancing at her and giving Yoko a knowing smile. Yoko kept brushing her knuckles softly, anchoring her while she was talking about Xavier and his stupid obsession. The whole time she was there, she could feel the absence of a certain dark, moody roommate. Her heart gave a little tug- the mating pull. Her two mates are there but the table didn’t feel complete without her. Without all four of them together. She ignored it, huffing when Ajax said they can’t throw out Xavier without a valid reason. Everyone groaned at that and kept bickering. Enid was unconsciously playing with Yoko’s ring, seeking comfort. Her tray had been abandoned the moment she felt full. Her wolf is content from the touch but also whining inside. She hoped Wednesday would come back. She wonders how she will break this news to any of them. Will they freak out? Reject her? Accept her? Hate her?
Her mind races with thoughts and fear blossoms in her chest. This semester is going to be hard for Enid and it hasn’t even started yet.
Notes:
i try my best to channel Enid's energy in this chapter and also added more dialogue. i hope i did it right...
