“Something happened. Tell me.”
“Nuh uh, everything is totally normal and fine!” Gunwook stammers, obviously flustered.
Yujin narrows his eyes. “Bullshit, hyung, you’re definitely hiding something.” His eyes flick to Gunwook’s death grip on his phone.
Gunwook’s heart thuds. Yes, something did happen and yes, he is hiding it! He’s not embarrassed exactly, but he can’t tell Yujin. Because once he tells Yujin then Taerae will know, and Taerae will tell Matthew who will tell Hanbin who will tell Guuvin who will tell Ricky who will never let him hear the end of it.
So he can’t tell Yujin.
“Hyung, come on!” the maknae pouts. “Why won’t you tell me? Is there a reason you’re blushing like that?”
Right then, Gunwook’s phone buzzes and in a moment of weakness he glances down to check. It’s only a moment. A split second where the screen of his phone is visible. Just the tiniest fraction of a breath where the reason he’s all out of sorts flashes in big, bright letters. It only lasts for a moment, but it’s enough.
“BEOMGYU SUNBAE?” Yujin screeches.
“Bro, it’s not what it—“
Yujin's hysterical laughter cuts Gunwook off. “You’re flirting with Beomgyu Sunbae?!”
Gunwook groans and holds out his phone, “Here, just look for yourself.”
As he scrolls through Gunwook’s messages, Yujin snorts. “You’re so bad at this, hyung.” He teases.
“Do not start.” Gunwook scowls.
“Wait, oh my god.” Yujin howls with laughter. “No way did you start off this conversation with ‘Hope it’s okay that I saved your number as Handsome Gyu-Hyung! ㅋㅋ‘“
Giving up, Gunwook burrows his head in his hands. “Let me die, please strike me dead right now.” He whimpers.
Yujin shakes him urgently. “Gunwook-hyung, get up! You can’t die yet, he just texted you back!”
Scrambling, Gunwook grabs his phone back from Yujin and feels his cheeks blush bright pink as he reads the message.
“Don’t tell the hyungs about this, okay Yujin-ah?” Gunwook says weakly.
Yujin smirks, “Way too late for that, bro!”
