The mistake their captors make is thinking Shen Wei would be helpless without his powers. Zhao Yunlan doesn't know how Shen Wei had gotten loose, not if they'd bound him up the same way Zhao Yunlan is currently, but clearly, somehow he had.

Zhao Yunlan makes a muffled noise behind his gag, trying to catch the guard's attention. He hasn't noticed Shen Wei yet, and Zhao Yunlan would like to keep it that way. The guard turns slightly towards Zhao Yunlan at the noise and—

Zhao Yunlan watches, with just a little bit of horror, as Shen Wei grabs him by the head and twists. He can hear the snap. The gag stops him from saying anything, and maybe that's a good thing. Intellectually, he gets it. They're clearly at a disadvantage here and showing mercy is tactically unsound or whatever, but—Shen Wei just snapped someone's neck.

Shen Wei crouches down to grab the gun off the guard's waist, and then stands up again, making it across to Zhao Yunlan in two strides. He gets the ropes away quickly, along with the gag. Zhao Yunlan swallows a few times, shakes his arms a little and then takes the gun Shen Wei is holding out to him.

He notices there's another gun tucked into Shen Wei's waistband, and takes that as a sign that his powers are definitely still gone. You know, along with the fact that he'd just snapped someone's neck with his bare hands.

Zhao Yunlan checks his own gun and then nods towards the one Shen Wei has. "Do you even know how to use that?" he whispers.

Shen Wei gives him a look that speaks volumes. Well, Zhao Yunlan has never seen him holding a gun, let alone use one. It's a valid question.

"It's too loud," is all Shen Wei says.

Zhao Yunlan glances down at the gun he's holding and nods. Only as a last resort then. He's fine with that. He's not happy about the thought of shooting anyone.

He grabs Shen Wei's arm and then quickly leans in to kiss his cheek. He lets go and nods towards the door, knowing that Shen Wei will definitely want to lead the way.
