Under Pressure

Summary:

What would have happened if the Vega twins never left Solaria? What would have happened if they were raised to become leaders like the Celestial Heirs? The twins as advanced as the Heirs and already know how to wield their elemental powers and their order forms?

Notes:

Hiii guyss!! So basically, since there is a very obvious drought in Zodiac Academy fanfics, I’ve ultimately decided to make one of my own! And to be very clear, I intend to not go easy on you guys since this is my first fan fiction on the AO3 platform. Also I lowered Lance and Gabriel’s ages by like two years to make it less weird. Anyways enjoy!! xx

Work Text:

Darcy’s POV (starting in Lance’s room at the Palace of Souls, since the Heirs + Twins have close relationships by being raised together)

“So, how long am I supposed to be your dirty secret?” Lance asked teasingly while wiping the remnants of my blood from his mouth, his admiral midnight blue eyes locked onto mine as he did so, making my stomach coil from the sight.

”As long until I can try to summon the courage to tell my dad,” I explained with a smile, pulling my shirt back on over my head. “Though my mom might already know.” Since she was gifted with the Sight, you couldn’t really put anything past her.

We tried to steal as many moments as we possibly could together, since him being a professor at one of the most prestigious academies Solaria had to offer and me being a Solarian princess plus Heir to the throne wasn’t exactly the most appealing combination, but I didn’t care. The forced proximity of the two of us bound us together. Particularly from Lance and Darius’s bond that Lionel Acrux had enforced on them when Darius was only 15 years old, and our friendships with the Heirs practically forced Lance to hang out with us all the time, even though we all already knew him years prior.

I couldn’t say that I hadn’t had the tiniest crush on him for a few years before getting together with him. He was just so gorgeous and athletic, and smart, and funny, and super hot with his vampire fangs, and his assholeness, and his muscles- okay I guess you could say I had a huge crush on him. We had only given into our feelings for each other a few months ago when my parents had thrown a celebration for Tory and I’s eighteenth birthdays. Lance was alone and sitting at the bar by the pool in the backyard of the palace, looking scruffy and hot as all hell while drinking a glass of bourbon.

That night ended up being arguably one of the best of my life, ending with Lance giving me the present of taking my virginity. And after that, we kept up this glorious affair. Tory and the Heirs eventually found out when I couldn’t keep up the lie anymore.

The law in Solaria wasn’t exactly the most ineffective. A teacher and a student was strictly forbidden, but since my parents were the ruler’s of the kingdom I could see us getting away with it. But I couldn’t really think that far ahead to Lance and I becoming so serious to the point of coming clean to the whole kingdom. We didn’t have many opportunities to get together, but when we did it was always amazing and filled me with a sense of peace. I couldn’t explain my feelings directly, but I knew I had a soft spot for him.

We got dressed, and he used the speed of his order to quickly rush me back to my room.

“See you tonight,” I whispered before I pressed my lips against his for a quick kiss.

“Are you going to be alright?” he murmured against my lips before pulling back and looking into my eyes, his hands sneaking up my sides and slipping beneath the hem of my shirt.

“Of course I will be.” I assured him, my corner of my mouth lifting up from his concern. “It’s just orientation. Tory and the Heirs will be there.”

Tonight was the night Tory and I will be officially attending Zodiac Academy. Our parents had arranged for the two of us to tour the campus and meet some of the professors to get some insight on what the next four years of our life would look like. Since we were both ahead of most of the freshmen, we’d be taking higher level classes with the Heirs, due to our awakenings taking place as soon as we turned 15.

Nobody will see me complaining about taking extra lessons with Orion.

“Yeah, and I’m guessing you’re going to try and challenge Seth for house captain?” he joked, his head cocking to the side with a scheming smirk on his face.

”Try?” I quipped, my hands exploring his abdomen before trailing up to his chest. “I’m going to get it.” I stated with a grin, even though I fully meant what I said.

Seth was one of my best-friend’s, but there was no chance I was going to pass up the opportunity to become Aer house captain. I needed to prove that I was capable of ruling Solaria with my sister one day. You could say that I was under a little bit of pressure, but I would take all of it if it meant I secured the throne for me and my sister. Whatever it takes.

"You seem eager." he pointed out, tilting his head downward so that his lips brushed over the hollow of my neck. I felt the sharp points of his fangs scraping alongside the sensitive skin of my throat, the very touch igniting a heat of fire spreading straight down to my core.

"I can be even more eager, if you want?"

His hot breath scorched along my skin, his fangs threatening to sink into me at any given moment. The warmth of his hands descended even lower, making the needy heat build between my thighs. "I might take you up on that later," he growled, the tone in his voice tinged with the heaviest hint of a promise for later's intentions.
