Chapter Text
Kim Dokja slid into the backseat of the police car with minimal complaints, unbothered as he sat down in the confined and familiar space. He clicked his seatbelt on without having to be told to do that, a practiced move on his part.
"Behave yourself," was all the female cop told him off-handedly before closing the door on him, leaving him trapped there until it was time for him to be let out.
Humming in delayed agreement, Kim Dokja shuffled around on the plastic seat for a more comfortable position. Once his ass wasn't complaining about the lack of cushioning, the car was already in motion, the radio playing sweet tunes far too loudly. Bobbing his head leisurely to the beat of the song, he looked out of the deeply tinted windows.
It was hard to see through the dark tint because of the late hour, but the city lights he could spot were beautiful. Admiring the nighttime he's come accustomed to, Kim Dokja's attention was grabbed by the suppressed cough coming from his left. Head turning to said direction, he was surprised to see a whole person sitting next to him.
How didn't he notice him immediately?..
Kim Dokja stared at the man for a long while, who in exchange was very obvious ignoring his presence. That side profile of his looked quite good, jaw sharp and limps plump. Not too much, but enough for him to admire it, and perhaps have a taste of it.
Turning his whole torso towards the stranger, he kept looking at him. With a side profile as good as that, his face must no doubt be gorgeous as well. He needed to see it. Deciding to make that his goal for no reason besides boredom, Kim Dokja shamelessly leaned his head towards the guy to catch a glimpse of his face.
It was covered by dark wavy hair, making his attempt difficult. Pushing aside the thought of wanting to touch it to see if it was really as soft as it looked, he inclined closer and closer until was practically sprawled across the middle seat. It was at that point that the man snapped his head to him, glaring murderously.
"Sup," Kim Dokja smoothly said—after having stared at that handsome face for seconds too long—and flashed a smile. He did not get a smile back.
"What are you..." came the gruff unfinished question from the other man whose face somehow turned more sour.
"I'm sitting in the back of a cop car, just like you are," the shorter man ended up answering, assuming that was the man's question. "Name's Kim Dokja by the way."
He extended a hand out for a handshake, getting a glare in response. Holding it in the air between them for an awkwardly long time, the taller man ended up taking him up on the offer to stop him. The stranger raised both of his hands despite returning the handshake with one.
The reasoning for that was simple: he had handcuffs on, something Kim Dokja wasn't as worried about as he should be. Blame the drinks, not him.
"...Yoo Joonghyuk," the man said reluctantly, his voice a low timbre.
The shorter wished he could listen to it on repeat.
"That name fits you amazingly," was what he muttered instead, his voice almost overshadowed by the music.
He got a grunt from Yoo Joonghyuk, signalling his compliment was heard, a bigger reaction than he was expecting. Shifting closer to him, Kim Dokja leaned further into the stranger's personal space for no good reason. He just wanted to, that was a reason.
"So... What's got such a handsome man like you in the back of a cop car...with me?" Kim Dokja asked, smirking when the other man scowled at him.
How expressive.
Yoo Joonghyuk, after much visible hesitance and teeth gritting, proceeded to murmur unclearly. His face pinched up as he spoke, as if saying it physically hurt him. Unfortunately for him, the radio was much louder than his whispering.
"Come again?"
"...Assault on an officer..."
The drowsiness made it hard for Kim Dokja to immediately understand what he said, but once he did, he grimaced. He forgot other people didn't sit in cop cars for no reason. Pursing his lips, he sent a semi-worried glance at both of the cops through the transparent plastic wall in front of them.
"...The woman or the man?"
"Man," came the constipated response from Yoo Joonghyuk.
"Ah."
Kim Dokja took another peek at that specific cop, having forgotten what he looks like. Said officer was tall and buff, muscular in a way that made him look more like a bear than a human. Yoo Joonghyuk had similar characteristics aside from the whole "looking like a bear" thing, but still, he was considerably smaller than the police office.
"Impressive... Why'd you attack him?"
"None of your business."
"Fair enough," Kim Dokja relented without missing a beat, not looking to be the next person who Yoo Joonghyuk assaults. It's not like he cared anyways, he was just bored and very woozy.
"So... You going to the police station?"
The deadpan look he got at that was a little humorous to him. He held back a chuckle.
"Right, no choice."
Instead of feeling ashamed for his very brainless question, Kim Dokja gave Yoo Joonghyuk a tipsy grin. The latter turned a suspicious colour of pink at that, though his frown didn't disappear.
Then again his so-to-say frown was more of a pout with the way his lower lip stuck out in a way that made him want to bite it. It was strangely cute even if it was a man doing the pouting. Unable to resist himself, the former reached up and brushed his thumb over the plump lip.
Yoo Joonghyuk's breath hitched at that, a sound Kim Dokja missed because of how intensely he was staring at his lips. Wetting his own, he felt a spark of excitement zip down his spine, going straight to his crotch.
Seeing as the taller wasn't stopping him, the shorter was confident enough to try his luck. And he did exactly that. Gently, his thumb pressed its way in between the lightly pursed lips, eager to see them wrapped around it.
The sight of Yoo Joonghyuk's lips encasing his thumb made his brain malfunction. Blood rushed to his head at a speed that made Kim Dokja think he was gonna vomit. Swallowing dryly, the heat pulsing through him was no longer only because of the alcohol, but rather from lust. A lot of it.
Opening his mouth to tease the other man, the words died in his throat when warm, wet, hot tongue that flicked against his thumb—accidental or not—and made his bones melt. Kim Dokja retracted his finger as if he had been burned, eyes blown so wide it made him heady.
Yoo Joonghyuk stared right back at him a delicious blush on his face, lips parted around his breaths. Zeroing his attention at the beautiful sight beneath him, he felt his self-restraint snap. All sane thinking thrown out the window, Kim Dokja flew forward tackling them both down.
He pressed his mouth against the other man's in a clumsy kiss. For a split second, Yoo Joonghyuk kissed him back, his lips moving against Kim Dokja's. Losing himself rapidly in the sweet taste of him, the shorter was snapped back to reality when the taller man suddenly pushed him away.
"...You taste like rum."
Huh?
The abrupt complaint caught Kim Dokja by such surprise that he ended up laughing out loud at the absurdness. Cheeks hurting from how widely he smiled, he suppressed his laugh into a snicker at Yoo Joonghyuk's disgruntled expression. He didn't want to piss off the man too much.
"Not a big fan of rum balls?" Kim Dokja mumbled teasingly nevertheless, pressing their noses together and loosely circling his arms around the other's waist.
"It didn't taste very sweet."
That wasn't wrong. He hasn't eaten a single rum ball today. Unfortunately for the other, Kim Dokja didn't feel like playing fair since seeing him so grumpy made him want to devour Yoo Joonghyuk more than he already did.
"Maybe..." the former trailed off, licking his lips in a way that had the latter tracking the movement, "...you just need another taste?"
Smirking widely at the stunned expression pointed right back at him, Kim Dokja waited until Yoo Joonghyuk opened his mouth for a response to dive right in. His tongue pushed into the taller's mouth without hesitation, caressing everything he could reach.
The startled groan from Yoo Joonghyuk was delicious, the same way the taste of him was. Kim Dokja kissed him with fervour, swallowing every tiny noise that left the other man. Slowly, the latter lay down on top of the other man, enjoying how the former's hips twitched up.
Inwardly, he wanted to do the same, but he was certain that if he did so, he wouldn't able to stop himself from humping Yoo Joonghyuk like a dog in heat. But he'd rather not finish in his dress pants since he just paid for them to be dry cleaned. It would be a huge waste of his money.
Rather than grinding against the man, Kim Dokja busied himself with sucking Yoo Joonghyuk's tongue into his own mouth. Swapping saliva with someone never sounded that appealing to him, but now, with his head spinning with pleasure, he has to admit he loves it.
With the way Yoo Joonghyuk sprawled across the seat under him, he looked like sin incarnate, making all the blood in Kim Dokja body rush south with such intensity his vision spun. And something below the belt ache was aching against his zipper in a painful way.
He mapped out every single centimeter of Yoo Joonghyuk's mouth, trailing his tongue along his gums. The smoothness of it all was driving Kim Dokja up the wall, the kiss turning more sloppier the longer it went on.
An involuntary groan left the latter, barely heard over the radio alongside his ragged breathing. He hasn't felt this worked up over anything in so long. It was doing wonders to his desires. Eyes half-lidded, he gazed down at Yoo Joonghyuk who was looking up at him with a flushed expression of his own, confused why they parted.
The enticing display challenged every thread of Kim Dokja's restraint it possibly could. The want to pin the man down and bury himself deep inside his warm velvety walls was overwhelming—so much so that he almost reached for the man's belt. Thankfully, all his fingers did were dig further into Yoo Joonghyuk's waist.
Yet not so luckily for the other man, Kim Dokja freed one of his hands and dug his fingers into the man's messy wavy hair, wholeheartedly enjoying the grunt it pulled out of Yoo Joonghyuk. His rough voice was to die for, making the shorter's body tingle in ways he didn't want to name.
Slotting their lips together again, he hungrily licking into the taller man's mouth, who was so perfectly pliant under him. Doing as he pleased, Kim Dokja parted from Yoo Joonghyuk for a split second, taking a singular breath and going right back in. The little whimpers he got in response was the very reason he kept doing that.
Switching between carefully caressing Yoo Joonghyuk's tongue to mindlessly shoving his tongue down the man's throat, Kim Dokja felt his tipsiness get worse. If he were just a bit sober, he would have realised that the car had come to a stop. But he wasn't.
His interest was placed in the arms ghosting across his shoulders, never grabbing onto him as if they were afraid to touch despite clearly wanting to. Tightening his hold on Yoo Joonghyuk's waist, Kim Dokja got fed up with the teasing touches and parted their lips just enough to whisper out: "Hold me."
He was already licking back into Yoo Joonghyuk's mouth the second he finished that sentence, unwilling to separate for too long. It's not like physically could, he was addicted to the taste of him. Quietly moaning into his mouth, Kim Dokja was delighted to feel arms grasp onto his shoulders with surprising force.
The slight pain it brought along was welcomed if it meant the taller was finally holding him. After all, the pleasure was much stronger. Tugging on Yoo Joonghyuk's hair as makeshift revenge, Kim Dokja could almost cum from the moan he got at that. He swallowed it whole, savouring it.
Yoo Joonghyuk ground his hips upwards impatiently, grunting when Kim Dokja raised his hips away from him to avoid the contact. He couldn't help it, neediness was a good look on the former. Closing his eyes, the latter gave in after the other let out another annoyed groan and lowered his hips with an agonising press.
He abandoned the thought of taking things slowly very fast, overwhelmed by how good it felt to grind his crotch against Yoo Joonghyuk's. Attention focusing solely on humping out the pulsing orgasm in his veins, Kim Dokja had his tongue deep down the other man's throat when the car door suddenly swung open.
Eyes fluttering open and peering up through his lashes, Kim Dokja caught a hazy glance of Jung Heewon's face. Said police officer was shocked silent, staring down both of the men with a mix of anger and shock.
"Kim Dokja!" she yelled out before grabbing the man by his scruff and wrenching him off Yoo Joonghyuk. "The hell are you doing!?"
"Kissing?" was the slurred and immensely delayed answer from Kim Dokja. It earned him an angry glare.
"The man who punched Lee Hyunsung?"
Ah— Right, Yoo Joonghyuk did admit to assaulting him...
Lost on a response, he got pulled out of the car and onto his feet with a rough yank, leaving him tumbling on the concrete. Although, it could be because he was still relatively tipsy. Regaining his balance, Kim Dokja felt the police officer's eyes bore hole into him.
"How much did you drink for you to make out in a cop car. With a criminal no less!" Jung Heewon scrutinised him.
Pinching the bridge of her nose, she sighed in disappointment. Despite being far from sober, Kim Dokja could tell he was in deep trouble. But, why? He didn't know kissing a handsome guy was illegal.
"...Next time, we won't be your designated driver. You're buying a taxi back home from the bar. Get in your house."
"Hey now, wait—"

I didn't know what to put in the summary so spare me.
Chapter 2: Size difference
Chapter Text
Yoo Joonghyuk set a large bowl of salad in front of Kim Dokja, who in response hummed happily. The former got a thank you for his kind gesture, which he replied to with a grunt and swiftly went back to washing the heaping pile of dishes. For two people, there were a lot of dishes after dinner.
It was all thanks to Kim Dokja.
Roughly over a month ago, things weren't like how they are now. Figuratively and literally. Having finished the scenarios, their hardships far behind them, both men were still living with the rest of the company. It was temporary, maybe for a couple months or so until they figure out what they wanted to do. That was the imitation plan.
The members didn't mind their presence too much, content with having them around. The kids were particularly happy to see Kim Dokja on a daily basis, and Yoo Joonghyuk begrudgingly shared the feeling. The feeling only grew stronger after he confessed.
One day, out of nowhere, Kim Dokja decided it was a smart idea to check if the scenarios had actually turned off. No one had raised worry over it, that being because it had been three months since everything calmed down. But the man was nothing if not stubborn.
And to worsen the whole ordeal, in his mind the smartest way to test it out was by using his Demon King transformation as the example, something Yoo Joonghyuk was an unfortunate witness to in the living room.
Turns out, the scenarios were still in motion, but only for a mere two minutes before the probability ran out. Everything shut off without a warning, leaving Kim Dokja trapped in his demon form. The sight was humorous for a moment, up until Yoo Joonghyuk realised that his boyfriend was stuck like that, forever.
Panic offset in the entire house. Many things were tried to revert Kim Dokja back into his previous body, the ideas ranging from bad to worse. Unfortunately, nothing could be done, meaning everyone—including both of them—had to get used to the change. It was difficult to say the least.
Besides the obvious fact of Kim Dokja havinv grown two heads worth in height, making Yoo Joonghyuk to crank his neck back to look the man in the eyes, a lot of other problems arose with it very fast. Like how Kim Dokja couldn't fit into rooms without having to bend his spine or how he'd constantly knock everything down because he didn't know how to control his wings.
Sometimes when he stood up, forgetting he had to duck, the tips of his horns would go straight through the ceiling. By the time they all collectively decided to find a new, taller house for Kim Dokja to move into, each and every ceiling of the house looked like a strainer.
Yoo Joonghyuk naturally went with him. But just getting a house with higher ceilings didn't solve every problem. Like the fact Kim Dokja ate for nearly three people. He didn't grow much in size, so the sudden hunger was concerning to say the least. The concern however transformed into dismay when the dishes began piling up after each meal.
It was safe to say that Yoo Joonghyuk was a dishwasher at this point. Perhaps an actual dishwasher would do them good.
Finishing up cleaning the dishes, he stepped to the side and began drying them with a towel. With how much and frequently he has been doing this, the action was engraved into his mind alongside a couple new muscles in hir arms. Cleaning so long in total silence was bittersweet.
It gave him time to think about his and Kim Dokja and how the new change had screeched their—at the time—barely three week long relationship to a halt. It was impossible to progress it for countless reasons, the main one being how Yoo Joonghyuk wasn't used to it. They had shared a singular kiss before the transformation, which was currently also their last.
It's not like he didn't want to be affectionate with his boyfriend, he did, but he never the one to initiate stuff. That was Kim Dokja's role. Yet ever since his body changed, he's been avoiding it. Sometimes he'd try to hold Yoo Joonghyuk's hand or hug him, except the former would immediately pull away like he was afraid to get hit.
His behaviour was confusing, considering he never acted like that before his change. If anything, he'd be hanging off Yoo Joonghyuk any chance he got. There wasn't a good reason behind the sudden change. Derailing his thoughts into less depressing ones, he could spot Kim Dokja placing his already empty bowl into the sink
A pair of arms wrapped around his torso after that, followed by a chin resting on top of his head, making Yoo Joonghyuk faltered in his movements briefly. Kim Dokja noticed that in an instant, starting to retract his arms, but he was stopped by the former dropping the towel and holding his hands in place.
"Joonghyuk?"
"...I like it."
"Oh," Kim Dokja dumbly murmured, wrapping his arms tightly around the other man.
Instead of dropping his chin on Yoo Joonghyuk's head again, he buried his nose into the side of his neck. It was ticklish and uncomfortable. The shorter didn't complain about it, wordlessly picking up the towel to continue drying the dishes.
His hands were a lot shakier than before, the drying taking him twice as long as it did earlier. He blamed it on the extra weight on his shoulders, though it was obvious the reason was something else. Mainly the way Kim Dokja was taking lungfuls of air.
"You smell so good..." the taller man muttered into his neck, evoking a sharp breath from the other.
Attempting to concentrate on his drying, a strangled sound left Yoo Joonghyuk when lips pressed against his jugular. Kim Dokja pulled away from him like he had been burned, despite him being the who had done the kissing.
"I— I don't know what I w—" the older began stuttering out.
The younger man was speechless, all of his nerves having fried themselves in that exact moment. Standing there,—with the towel in hand—Yoo Joonghyuk didn't know how to react, but judging by how badly Kim Dokja was freaking out behind him, he needed to do something.
In spur of the moment, he turned around and grabbed him by the collar, tugging him down into a kiss. It was clumsy and stretched out too long, leaving Kim Dokja looking redder than a boiled beet when they pulled apart. He stood there, half-hunched, pupils blown wide.
For a second, Yoo Joonghyuk thought he messed up, since the shock on the taller's face was strong. This was their second kiss after all. Hesitating to do anything else, the shorter man found himself tongue tied for an apology.
"...I thought you lost feelings for me," Kim Dokja confessed sheepishly out of nowhere.
To say Yoo Joonghyuk scowled at that statement would be an understatement.
"Why would you think that?"
"We never did anything romantic after I become like this, I just thought..." the older man said pitifully.
"Nonsense," the younger denied, despite it being somewhat true.
He's never fallen out with Kim Dokja, never. He loves the man too much for that to ever be true even if another thousands of years passed by. But truthfully, Yoo Joonghyuk did become hesitant to do romantic stuff when he transformed into his Demon King form.
It's not because he feels any differently towards him. The problem was in the fact that he was unused to it. The entire he's known Kim Dokja, the man has always been smaller than him, with the rare instances when he used his transformation during battles.
Because of that, all of Yoo Joonghyuk's fantasies—tender, intimate, romantic, and some not as innocent—were based on the smaller version of Kim Dokja. The version where he was 176 centimeters, and not over two meters. It has taken him considerable amount of time to rebuild them.
Whereas before a fantasy about Kim Dokja picking him up and kissing him was hot and exciting, now the man could easily pick Yoo Joonghyuk up without effort, making the fantasy far less exciting. Of course getting picked up and kissed was exciting, but it wasn't the same.
There was something special about the older manhandling him and shower power him like that despite being smaller than him. But now, it was obvious he was stronger than the younger man. It wasn't a bad thing per se, it simply meant Yoo Joonghyuk had to reconstruct his fantasies.
Currently, he's reached a point where he's found a new set of things that excite him about Kim Dokja with his new height. Particularly the fact that he was so much stronger than Yoo Joonghyuk now, having the ability to hold him down or toss and turn him during cuddles.
"I... I love it when you're like this," he admitted shyly.
Kim Dokja's eyes widened further at his admittance, a small startled smile stretching on his lips.
"Joonghyuk-ah..."
Not another thing could be said by either of them as the taller effectively silenced them by pressing their lips together again. This time the kiss went much smoother, smooth enough for the shorter man to feel a tongue dart out and glide across his lips.
It ended their kiss, with Yoo Joonghyuk out of breath from the adrenaline rush it gave him. Kim Dokja looked to be in a similar condition, the only difference being that his face was flushed beyond help. It was sort of...cute.
"So...you want to keep dating me?"
"What kind of question is that," Yoo Joonghyuk grumbled angrily.
"It's just— I thought you hated me now that I was like this..." Kim Dokja mumbled, looking a tad embarrassed.
"We sleep in the same bed."
"But we don't cuddle!"
"That's— ...It's your fault, you don't hold me."
"You'd let me?"
Yoo Joonghyuk couldn't believe they were dating. If anyone else heard this, they'd no doubt think they weren't together. What kind of person does Kim Dokja he is? This was insult. Frowning to himself, the former turned around to continue his previous task.
The latter followed him suit, hugging him from behind with more confidence than the first time. It felt good, his warmth enveloping Yoo Joonghyuk in a way he's dreamt of just days ago. Cozy and nice. Kim Dokja nuzzled his nose into the junction between his neck and shoulder, a nice cherry on the whole thing.
"I love you so much, Joonghyuk..."
Yoo Joonghyuk did not have enough confidence in himself to say that back without his voice wavering or his face heating up like the sun. In its stead, he chose something easier and, in his mind, equally affectionate to say.
"I'll cook you dumplings tomorrow."
The sigh of pure joy from Kim Dokja was a sign that he wasn't too far off with his choice. His boyfriend should know him quite well after all, considering all the years they've spent together.
"You're amazing Joonghyuk-ah, I think I fell in love with you again," Kim Dokja whispered into his neck.
"Don't talk nonsense," was Yoo Joonghyuk's answer, though one could spot the tips of his ears reddening.
"I'm serious. I'm so happy that I could just whisk you away."
The taller's statement was accompanied by a series of kisses pressed against the shorter man's neck and cheek. It made the hair on the back of Yoo Joonghyuk's neck stand up, his stomach fluttering with butterflies. He's a grown man, what's wrong with him...
Kim Dokja on the other hand wasn't a tad bit embarrassed. He slumped his whole body weight onto Yoo Joonghyuk's shoulders, his wings fluttering up a storm strong enough to whip his hair around. Even the towel was moving, yet he paid it no mind until a loud cling rang out, followed by something shattering on the floor.
"...Kim Dokja."
"I'll buy you a new glass," the offender immediately said, revealing what he had accidentally knocked down.
Yoo Joonghyuk didn't nag on him, he had no reason to. They had a lot of those glasses, one of them breaking didn't matter to him. That didn't mean he wasn't going to hold Kim Dokja responsible for it.
"Sweep it up."
"Ah, right— Sorry, right on it," the taller chuckled, pulling away from him to go and grab the broom.
It took a lot from the shorter man to not stop him, having him grip the spoon with so much strength that it almost got bent. Finishing up drying the last of the dishes, Yoo Joonghyuk set the towel down and acted as a meat shield so Kim Dokja wouldn't knock any more down as he cleaned up.
"You know, I was thinking..." Kim Dokja said out of nowhere. "Do you wanna go out on a date this week? Or the next is fine too!"
Yoo Joonghyuk stared at his boyfriend in surprise, who was trying to appear busy with the cleaning so he wouldn't have to look up and see his reaction. Feeling the slightest smile tug on his lips, the latter pondered about his schedule.
"This week works."
The speed with which the former raised his head was amusing.
"Really? Oh my god, I love you Joonghyuk-ah. Wait, is "Joonghyuk-ah okay? I can call you Yoo—"
"Call me Joonghyuk-ah," Yoo Joonghyuk grunted out, trying to not sound as excited about it as he was.
It didn't matter as Kim Dokja was excited for the both of them, his smile the widest he's ever seen it and his wings almost knocking down a whole chair. Luckily it stayed on its feet. Oblivious to what he almost did, the taller man dumped the glass shards away and tackled the shorter into a hug.
Yoo Joonghyuk was swooped off the ground, legs unable to reach the ground as Kim Dokja shook them both side to side. As much as he wanted to hate being picked up so easily, inwardly, his heart was thumping with excitement. He could never not love his boyfriend, no matter what form he was in.
If anything, he quite likes how much bigger he is. But he'll never admit it, not over his own dead body.

Chapter Text
The door to Kim Dokja's bedroom closed with a loud thud, caused by the fact the owner of the room had slammed it shut. You could hear yelling from downstairs in response to the slamming, something Kim Dokja promptly ignored in favour of rushing over to his drawer and tearing his tie off.
His suit jacket was next, a piece of clothing he struggled to take off. Stuck in it, Kim Dokja groaned frustratedly and thrashed around in place until he got it off with a pinch of pain and a possible rip in the jacket considering the loud tear sound it created.
Throwing it onto the ground, his dress shoes were chucked around the room. Happy with his clothes, Kim Dokja dug his fingers into his neatly slicked back hair and tousled it up. A handful of strands were stuck to his fingers when he removed from his head—nothing he paid mind to.
Breathing harshly through his nose, the only thing he wanted to do was turn his room upside down. Unluckily for his wants, like always, he was just about to rip down a poster when his bedroom door opened up. Whipping around, he watched as his bodyguard pressed his way into the room and locked the door behind him.
The mere sight of his face had Kim Dokja fuming. If he could— Oh, if only he could, he'd punch him straight in that stupid face of his! He'd deserve it. He deserves everything. Jaw clenched, he turned away, not wishing to see that mug of his.
Leaning his hands onto his drawer, it took everything in him not to swipe his arms across the surface and throw everything to the ground. It's not like there was anything on it that mattered, not anymore at least. Attempting to cool his head, Kim Dokja felt his anger growing.
Behind him, still by the door, Yoo Joonghyuk shifted on his feet awkwardly. Of course he would take the neutral stance, not wanting to offend Kim Dokja yet not having enough courage to go against his parents wishes either. He hated him for that.
Such a cowardly person wasn't fit to be his body guard.
Spewing all kinds of inappropriate names and curses at Yoo Joonghyuk in his mind, Kim Dokja felt just a fraction better. Still, the need to sock the other boy hadn't subsided. Maybe he should, it's not like things can get any worse than they already are. The last thing his parents could do was lessen his allowance, but he already had enough saved to not care about that.
"...Piss off," Kim Dokja spat out when he realised Yoo Joonghyuk was planning to stand there like a scarecrow the whole time.
He didn't get a response, not a verbal one at least. Perhaps his body guard answered to him physically, but he wasn't looking at him. Wasn't planning to either. The longer the silence stretched on, the higher his anger rose.
"I said, fuck off," he repeated, agitation bleeding into his words.
Like a pure idiot, Yoo Joonghyuk did not leave. His feet stayed planted to the ground with his stubbornness, unwilling to leave despite playing a big part in the reason Kim Dokja was angry in the first place. After all, if it weren't for him...
He slammed his fist against the drawer, hoping it rid him of the rage within. It didn't, causing him to do it again with a snarl. He did it once more, twice, and a third time until there was pain prickling through his hand. Raising his hand again, he was about to repeat it a fourth time when he was interrupted.
"Kim Dokja—"
"You," the older boy yelled out without missing a beat, turning around with so much speed that it physically hurt him, "do not speak to me like that!"
The younger looked caught off guard by the screaming, but quickly composed himself and lowered his gaze to the ground at the finger pointed at him.
"...Yes, Young Master."
Hands shaking from the adrenaline pumping through him, Kim Dokja felt so, so weak and pathetic. Clenching his pointing hand back into a fist, he tore his eyes off Yoo Joonghyuk's figure by his door. He hated how the suit he wore was tailored perfectly to his body, he couldn't stand it.
"Leave," he said, feeling fed up from being monitored even at a time like this.
It didn't help that Yoo Joonghyuk was here most likely because his parents requested him to be here. Always ready for their beck and call, and never for Kim Dokja's. It feels like his feelings don't matter at all. But it was his job, wasn't it? Asshole.
"Just because you're my bodyguard doesn't mean you can come and invade my personal space whenever you please. If I tell you to leave, you leave."
"Young Master, being grounded isn't that ba—"
"This isn't about being grounded!" Kim Dokja shouted, a blood vessel bulging on his temple from anger. "If anything, you know damn well I would've loved being grounded. All I get to do is stay in bed and read books."
The stumped look Yoo Joonghyuk gave him managed to somehow anger him even more.
"Then...what is bothering you, Young Master?"
Kim Dokja scoffed at the concerned tone coming from the younger boy. As if he cared. All he wanted was to get in on the information so he could share it with his parents and get him in more trouble. "Help him" his ass, he only makes problems for the older.
"What's bothering me..." Kim Dokja sneered, furious at the boy's unawareness.
"If you hadn't ratted me out to my parents, maybe I wouldn't be so angry! How's that for an answer?"
"But you stood up the girl your parents had arranged for you," Yoo Joonghyuk murmured, gaze locked onto the floorboards.
"Because I didn't want to go on a date with her. You could've simply kept your mouth shut and I could've said she never showed up. They would have believed me!"
"...There's no point in that."
"There is," Kim Dokja insisted, practically growling out his words. "I didn't want to go on that, what's so hard to understand there?"
"Young Master, you need to get married regardless. The dates let you choose who you get married to," Yoo Joonghyuk reminded, voice steeled with false confidence.
"You— Don't you understand? I don't want to get married!"
The former's shouting could no doubt be heard on the first floor, making the latter raise his eyes in shock. His surprise was understandable since Kim Dokja was never one to raise his voice or speak loudly, let alone be the one to command him around. Yoo Joonghyuk stammered, his usual indifference gone.
"You're going to be 18 soon, it's... It's inevitable."
"It's not," the older boy weakly said.
"If you don't have a girlfriend by your birthday, Lord and Lady Kim will choose—"
"Yoo Joonghyuk, I don't want a random girl. I don't care if they're rich, pretty, talented or if they can make a great housewife. I— I already have someone I love," Kim Dokja finally admitted, not wanting to hear it any more from the younger.
He regretted saying that as soon as he closed his mouth, wishing he could take it back. He expected the puzzled expression in Yoo Joonghyuk's eyes since his admittance held high value. Whatever, it doesn't matter anymore. He can do tattle to his parents and get it all over with.
"Young Master, why haven't you said anything?.." Yoo Joonghyuk asked with a strange tremor in his voice.
"Because it's not that simple. My parents wouldn't accept it."
"You can't—"
"Dammit, the one I love is you, Yoo Joonghyuk!"
...
The silence the room fell into was deafening, like the worst kind of torture you could grant someone. Teeth gritted, Kim Dokja didn't dare look at his bodyguard, unable to face the rejection that would be waiting him. How could you blame him for falling in love?
It's not his fault he and Yoo Joonghyuk grew up side-by-side ever since they were kids. If anything, it's unfair that his parents made him become Kim Dokja's bodyguard. It was cruel. He's human, he can't help the feelings that sprouted when Yoo Joonghyuk was by his side through it all.
He knows it's wrong, but he can't stop his heart from yearning...
"Just...leave," Kim Dokja commanded with a whisper, unable to even gesture at the door.
Eyes squeezed shut, he was horrified to hear Yoo Joonghyuk's steps get closer to him rather than disappearing. Tensing up, the former was preparing to get slapped or punched. Yet when seconds passed by and there was no pain to be felt, he felt lost. Cracking one of his eyes open, he peeked at the latter.
Yoo Joonghyuk stood in front of him with the faintest blush dusting his face, expression not betraying any emotion. Bewildered at his reaction, Kim Dokja's heart swelled up in his chest and exploded when the taller leaned in a pecked his cheek.
Hand going to his cheek immediately as if he had been branded, he stared wide-eyed at his bodyguard. Said boy looked pleased with himself, all while the shorter's mind was running into every critical error there was. And there were a lot of them.
"Young Master, you should've told me that..." Yoo Joonghyuk mumbled, albeit shyly.
The shyness was a rare sight these days, reminding Kim Dokja so much of the taller's younger-self. As they got older, the boy became more serious about constantly doing job correctly as his bodyguard, leaving his emotions in the background. The shorter hated how suppressed them, barely showing happiness beside his usual stone coldness.
But that blushing look on him was beautiful. He wants to see it more often.
"...You can call me Kim Dokja again. I only said it because I was upset," was the first thing Kim Dokja managed to force out, mind too jumbled to think.
Yoo Joonghyuk hummed in hesitant agreement, the same way he had reacted the first time Kim Dokja told him to call him by his name. He had to convince him for a whole month just for the man to call him "Mr. Kim". The former stopped when the latter said it made him feel like an old man.
Hoping he hadn't erased their entire process down the drain by telling Yoo Joonghyuk to be formal, Kim Dokja was fearing the worst when the boy's brow twitched in thought.
"Kim Dokja...I love you too."
The shorter's heart might as well have stopped with how many beats it skipped. Smiling so wide that it hurt, his voice cracked in an embarrassingly high pitch as he spoke up.
"R-really?"
Yoo Joonghyuk nodded in confirmation, a small jerk of his head as he was too shy to voice his answer. Feeling giddy with excitement and happiness, Kim Dokja wanted to do so many things, most of them not appropriate since they weren't yet dating.
"You love me," he repeated in disbelief.
When the gruff "yes" came in response, Kim Dokja really couldn't help how excited he was. He grabbed Yoo Joonghyuk's head on both sides and pulled him in, crashing their lips together. It wasn't all that much of a kiss, a clumsy and chaste press of lips against one another, but it made Kim Dokja's heart race in a way he has only dreamed of previously.
Their lips were smushed together for a good five seconds before the latter had the mind to let the former's head go. His bodyguard stumbled in place, a furious blush covering his face and sliding under his crisp collar. Keeping his eyes away from trying to peek under there, Kim Dokja's whole head was warm like a hot spring.
"Sorry, I just— I really wanted to kiss you..."
Yoo Joonghyuk grumbled unclearly, saying something along the lines of "I liked it", but perhaps that's what Kim Dokja wished he said. Coughing into his fist embarrassedly, he sobered up when he remembered that none of his problems have actually been solved.
He was still grounded, and he was still going to have to get married to some random girl he couldn't care less about. There was no way his parents would accept him trying to marry his bodyguard. Yoo Joonghyuk was by his side to protect him, not to be his lover.
Furrowing his eyebrows so deeply that a crease appeared between them, Kim Dokja was startled to feel a hand—much warmer and calloused than his own—grab his, clutching it encouragingly.
"...The kiss was good," Yoo Joonghyuk muttered, ears a cute shade of pink.
Kim Dokja couldn’t lie and say that hearing that didn't make his heart skip a beat.
"Oh. That's not—what I was worried about."
The ashamed grunt that left the younger boy was the most embarrassed the older has ever seen him. It made him want to kiss him again, although he knows he shouldn't. Maybe later.
"Lord and Lady Kim wouldn't mind it."
"They would. You're supposed to be my bodyguard, it's improper for me to fall for you."
"If you heard what Lord and Lady Kim said when you're not around, you'd..." Yoo Joonghyuk argued before trailing off, gaze falling to the floor yet again.
"...What do they say when I'm not there?"
"Nothing."
"Yoo Joonghyuk, what do they say when I'm not there?"
"I— I will go tell Lord and Lady Kim the news."
"No, you're going to tell me what they say. Hey, get here!"
Yoo Joonghyuk evaded Kim Dokja's grabbing expertly. It's something he should be able to do without any effort, but currently, the latter really wished he didn't have the ability for that. Changing his strategy in a split second, he tried to bear hug the former to stop him from leaving.
His attempt didn't work as Yoo Joonghyuk turned around and booked it for the door, unlocking it swiftly and slipping out of his bedroom. Kim Dokja couldn't think about running after him before he could already hear his bodyguard's shoes thumping down the stairs.
This sleazy bastard, immediately going to embarrass him in front of his parents after he confessed! Feeling more frustrated than he did when he stepped into his room, Kim Dokja threw himself onto his bed and rolled up into his blanket.
There was a fifty-fifty chance he'll either get chastised for confessing to Yoo Joonghyuk, or they'll try to get them married before he turns 18. Both were very severe ends of the spectrum. Although, he didn't dislike one of those options.
Whatever. As soon as Yoo Joonghyuk comes back upstairs, Kim Dokja will pin him down and kiss him until his satisfied. That's a good punishment, especially since he can't really do anything else. He could try and berate him for snitching on him for the second time today, but it won't do anything.
Eyes closed in an attempt to fall asleep to offset the stress he accumulated throughout the day, Kim Dokja could hear his mother squeal out of happiness on the first floor. ...He should probably get ready for another suit tailoring.
At least he'll get to see Yoo Joonghyuk looking as handsome as ever in a white suit.
