Missing an update because you were busy with your own work is a good reason to miss an update. Besides, you got here eventually.
Nico is a tough cookie. He and Serafine had to be to survive together on their own through their childhood. But he's still very mortal, with all the vulnerabilities that come with it.
We will never know what became of the monster. Maybe someone killed it. Maybe it's still out there somewhere, luring new victims to their doom.
