    Aww this is lovely! I like the idea of all the members of the company getting portrait - it reminds me of the portraits the actors got of themselves ... but OF COURSE this was Thorin's idea! I simply adore how he quietly listens to Bilbo's complaints ... just to suggest getting a statue of him instead!! And it's great that Bilbo finally gives in, but to his own conditions.
    And those cute confession!! I really enjoy Thorin's determination to convince Bilbo that the others (and guess who especially) see him like this, and Bilbo's teasing answer that it might take quite some years.
    There are so many little details I like about this - the company commenting on Bilbo's portrait, or Bilbo thinking that Belladonna would be delighted that a king kneels in front of her son (I bet she would be very delighted about that king indeed ...), or Balin's comment that Bilbo doesn't try to make mithril out of iron ore with his portrait (a great dwarven phrase!). And Thorin wearing reading spectacles!! I think this should get canon ;)
    It's still the 29th in my time zone, so I guess it's not too late to wish you a happy birthday again ... and even if it was already the next day: A wizard is never late ;P
