   thanks! Yes, I see Dr. Terrence as someone trying to make the best of a bad situation. He's not in a position to overcome the system, but he does what he can in his own little way to mitigate the horror. Indeed, this fic was very dark to write - of course I've based the setting on the concentration camps of World War II.

   At least the next few chapters will provide a brief respite for our heroes - until S'Rezli calls for Kirk...
