  1. Shalom, y'all!

Wow, you are one hell of a writer. Your metaphors are amazing. The bursting ice-dam, the flooding plain. The water damaged tapestry. Love that pulls like the moon. The "ornamental woman" that Alicia struggles to stop being, with numb toes that could so easily be replaces with prostheses. I loved your writing as I simultaneously hated the pain you caused me. Alicia and Bob have been through this so many times, in so many fics, but this one, I think, might cut closest to the bone. Brava.

    1. Thank you! I learned about the Glacial Lake Missoula floods five or six years ago and I've been fascinated by them ever since. It was only a matter of time until they found their way into a story.

I shared with my beta early on that I'd seen a photograph of the Flyers' WAGs in which all of them were wearing basically the same outfit (including towering heels) except for one who was wearing sneakers and standing on her tiptoes. So "ornamental women" is a sort of spiritual homage to that rebel sneaker-wearer.

Sorry to cause you (and Alicia and Bob et al.) pain, but I hope it all worked out! (It does. :) )
