    this is sooo wonderful. i love fic explorations of alicia, because she has the potential to be a really interesting and complex character, and i've seen so many fics interpret her in similar but slightly different ways. i really love her in this fic, where she's understated and ornamental, and i can feel her emotions and the process that she is working through. anger in so many directions, a deep need to understand her son, to express that, and overwhelmingly, her love for her family. this is really well-written and a pleasure to read.

      I am fascinated by the social position of women who marry male professional athletes—unless they’re very famous themselves, their identities get so subsumed by their husbands’. Alicia could be interesting and complex. Is she? Dunno! The comic doesn’t say. But we can definitely explore some possibilities. Thanks for your comment!
