    By the "only one on the best of days" part? I meant what I said in the same context of how if you have to have a natural disaster every day, a best/good day would be once compared to multiple.

    Basically, that line's saying multiple spacequakes during a day are a very common occurrence.

      Woah that’s a lot worse than I had initially believed humanity is teetering in the edge I feel despite the fact they’ve been rebuilding. Also what’s the deal with Ellen? Is that explained in the anime?

        It's worse in Spiritual Successor, where the casualties are higher and Humanity's much more globally cut off.

        You need to be more descriptive on Ellen for me to know what you're asking.

            V17 through 19 covers this, revealing they used to be genuine wizards as kids... and then people razed their home, leaving only them, Elliot, and Karen alive.

            Westcott was already slipping before then, as he considered the death of his mom as the "best day of his life", but not due to him hating her. He just got a weird fascination with death.

            At least, this explains why they're full of hate, though Ellen also has the fact she's in love with Elliot, so the fact he didn't bring her with him did not go well.

            He also likely didn't bring her because she and Karen are... not on good terms, and implied this was even before they both left DEM Industries.

                As of V21? No one has ANY idea what will happen with her.

                Her memory's been wiped since Westcott died, and no one in-universe knows the reason, with theories saying either she did it herself or Westcott had it as a "death insurance" of sorts.
