Comment on Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)

  1. Thank you so much! It was actually my intention to have Thara be Earth-38's Thea, hence Tom-Var being her brother. Mostly because I think Kara and Thea would be great friends if they grew up together. I felt like spending time on Daxam was a great reason for Jor-El to not approve, and I wanted to throw a shout out to the comics character of Laurel Gand/Andromeda, who was originally intended to replace Supergirl and was cousins with the comics version of Mon-El/Valor.

I'm glad you enjoyed the picnic. I felt like I needed both of their personalities to show through, and it was a good way to do it.

Honestly I don't know all the answers to that. Most of the stuff about the trial was pulled straight from the episode, although there was the implication in the episode that there was some interest between Kara and Del-Or. I just adapted it to keep Kara in the Science Guild where the episode had her in court "like her mother" and added Oli and Thara.

Yeah, I ended it here because the next two chapters are angst and angst + 11. I felt like there needed to be a breather.

    1. Neat idea on Thea being Thara. I imagine that Tom-Var would have somehow also grown-up on Daxam with Oliver because of both of their party backgrounds.

Another reason I love reading your stories is because I always learn something new, whether it is about Kryptonian culture or the comics, like Laurel Gand/Andromeda. I didn't know about her character before I read your story. Again, perfect choice to have her be the Laurel Lance of Daxam.

I hadn't watched the episode since Season 1, so I had forgotten that the scene was part of the original episode. I guess I just accidentally revealed my love of forensic shows and crime and court-room documentaries...
