  1. This was just fantastic! I love will ferrel but i can admit his movies are usually leaning more towards slapstick, dumb tropes. But by god this movie caught me by suprise. In the past id say decade i really started to dislike eurovision as its original meaning has been lost. But this movie.... it brought back something. It filled me with such love and joy for Europe, i miss it for long time.

This movie truely is a gem and i think will ferrel hit the nail on the head with it. Lemtov’s character intrigued me so much aswell. Unlike most movies that have the closeted gay character for comedy, it felt more like subtle nod to real people in lgbt+ community who have had to hide who they are to succeed and how unfair that is. I think personally also was jab at more conservative european countries for their treatment of gay citizens.

Your story perfectly captured how i felt about lemtov. It was joy to read. Bravo!

    1. I love hearing your thoughts about the movie! It's especially great to hear that this helped bring back some of the original meaning of the competition for you, or even Europe. I am only an occasional viewer of the song contest—but for me, sometimes I need to take time away from a reliable show or event before it can strike me deeply again.

Your thoughts on Lemtov: exactly—I was so glad to see that his being closeted was acknowledged as a point of sadness, and the price of success coming from a homophobic place! Conservative countries that compete in the Euro Camp Olympics but discriminate against their own citizens for "deviance" or whatever deserve endless shit for their hypocrisy. It's unacceptable.

So grateful to hear you liked the story! Thanks for the comment, and take care ❤️💕
