      So for now people are constantly challenging, testing, and being perpetual pains in the asses by pushing and seeing how far they could go. Which is why Meng-Die's death was sort of important. It let London know that no matter WHO he is they won't put up with mutiny. JC has full discretion over his own made vampire, and for news to spread that he won't let even his own get away with disrespect will raise his reputation and he'll be far more respected. At the beginning JC tells Anita that fear and power are the two things that vampires respect most.
