    Okay, at first I was dying becsause of the cuteness of their trip to the zoo, but then I was holding my breath the entire time Makoto was onstage and Haru was struggling with his feelings. I saw your note at the end and appreciated it greatly; I don't think people will mistake it for "asexuals can be cured"; you made it very clear in the narrative that Haru is not changing per se, just experiencing something new.

    I love Haru and Rin's friendship in this; it's a much healthier version of what they have in the anime. I feel like it could have been like this if Rin hadn't gotten so wrapped up in competing. Your description is lovely and the emotions come through so strongly. As for my favorite part, it's a tie between the angst and the platypus. I love this fic so much.

      I forgot to say, you really see the turmoil that Haru goes through. He's defined himself through his asexuality, and now he almost feels like he's a traitor to his own self. Like he's been faking it all this time, even though he knows he hasn't been. I really think that there's a problem with society. Nobody seems to recognize that sexuality is fluid, but it doesn't devalue the identity you had before. And you captured the conflict really well.

        Also wow, this comment makes me feel a lot better. This is a pretty delicate subject, and I was terrified I hadn't handled it properly. So this is like an "oh thank god." comment for me haha. You pretty much said EXACTLY what I was trying to show with haru. I feel better now, haha.

      Thanks so much for this comment. I put the little disclaimer just because I was really worried I hadn't captured it right, and people might misconstrue it for that. And I really love writing haru and Rin friendship dynamics where Rin is really supportive. I watch season 2 and gently hum "we could have had it all" to myself, haha.
