He’s a very intelligent idiot who happens to be good at politics and utter osik at emotions. // He’s a very intelligent idiot who happens to be good at freeing/leading people and 50% osik at emotions. — That’s it, that’s the story. (Jango’s percentage is fully arbitrary but definitely less than Obi-Wan’s because he’s actually had healthy familial and romantic relationships and therapy.)
Jedi siblings and Mandalorian vod exchanging notes on how to manage a “put my health and happiness last always” Obi-Wan is delightful.
“I want to marry whoever’s been handling his diet and exercise routine.” — I’m a-okay with a whole bunch of adoptions/marriages and the beginning of a new era of Jetii Mando'ade. Just saying.
“Not what I meant,” Anakin said with a scrunched nose. “I mean Depur - Owner Master, not Ba’ji’buir Master. They may be Palace-slaves and half chain-blind, but that doesn’t make them not slaves too.” — Out of the mouths of babes. Babes who know shades of slavery and freedom and the lies that make it bearable but no less horrifying.
“He’s everything good and wonderful in this galaxy, honorable and selfless and competent as all kriff and tenacious and mandokarla bal mesh'la bal mirdala bal dral bal ruusaanyc bal kotep. Kaysh jatnese be te jatnese.” — Jango going all love confessions verbal spew in front of the Council and Mando aliit and the Force and Ka’ra and hopefully even some Force ghosts with metaphorical popcorn is everything I had hoped for.
“Is the friend me or Sheila?” Arla asked quietly. “Because I have a new scope and someone threatened my riduur'be'vod.” — Question: Hypothetically, if beskar muffles one’s presence in the Force, what would the success rate of a Mandalorian sniper in full beskar-gam firing a pure beskar bullet at a shady government official be? Asking for a friend.
There’s a shatterpoint the size of a small moon on that man — Man, I know it’s meant in a metaphorical sense but the literal version sounds extremely satisfying.
making out for lost time with his riduur — I’m hoping this was deliberate. Because, yes, they’re making UP for lost time, but I’d like to think that they’ve spent years now being *that* couple who is still so ridiculously in love and visibly affectionate that their entire circle just rolls their eyes in loving exasperation. So making OUT is a staggeringly common sight.
"he was deposed and thrown out of all reasonable establishments in civilized space” — P.S. guessing he was put under surveillance since no one trusts a predator to stop being creepy and wrong. And my hypothetical could still apply when he’s seen approaching some young child - taking and breaking children to make Sith apprentices likely looks just as wrong from outside eyes as more expected predatory motives. (You can tell I prefer my Palpatines dead. Fully, no coming back through vague writing in future story lines, DEAD.)
CanonAni needs to be shipped with Therapy, not a person — AMEN (only after So Much Therapy can he think about some nebulous future romance, being to be determined.)
"what would the success rate of a Mandalorian sniper in full beskar-gam firing a pure beskar bullet at a shady government official be?" Somewhere around Winter Soldier.
This ship is just minmaxed idiots, really. Obi-Wan used Feelings as a dump Stat and Jango used Politics/Paperwork as his, so they balance each other out.
Oh there's gonna be a new Era. Lots of Mando’ade have competency kinks that make Jedi super appealing, but they also entirely understand Duty vs Personal Desire and make good partners to Jedi because they won't demand their Cyare'e put them before Duty. Just that the duty be a real one and not the dumb republic slavery bullshit.
Hypothetically... there is a reason they have a reputation as skilled bounty hunters. That's a damn near unstoppable method of problem removal.
