    Ok so first of all I’m laughing at your “I think this delivered” in the authors notes. I SHOULD SAY IT DID, SOF!! Holy fuck dude!! This is like, godtier, peak, top of the mountain level whump my friend! I love literally everything about this!! I love how you write Din, very much how I see him as a character, both in canon and in DinCobb land! He’s just so endlessly devoted to his HUSBAND (god you know im such a sucker for that) and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep Cobb calm and comfortable, even at the cost of his own comfort. Din in this fic is just absolutely peak husband material and Cobb is so lucky to have him! (And vice versa, of course!!)

    I also love how you wrote Cobb, of course!! I love how he literally threw himself over someone to shield them from debris…. As you know, this just plays into my “Cobb is endlessly self-sacrificing” headcanon! Also watching him go through different phases of his life, as he’s coming in and out of delusions, is so heartbreaking!!

    The whump itself is choice as all hell man! Cobb’s delusions, and the descriptions of his physical injuries, and just the pure fear and panic that he’s going through! (And Din’s fear and panic too, for that matter!) learning about what Cobb has been through in his slave days is also so distressing and rips my heart straight out!

    The cherry on top is DEFINITELY just watching their sweet, established relationship! I love the snapshot into their life by looking at the things in their house! As someone who enjoys looking at peoples nick nacks when I visit, it’s SUCH a good way to learn about their life!! But also it leaves juuuuust enough to the imagination that I can wonder and hypothesize about the rest of their life!! And also, now that Cobb is injured in a way that will likely change their routine quite a bit, it gives me even more fodder to wonder what life will look like for them in the coming months and years!

    Ok this comment is an incoherent mess omg I’m so sorry!! But seriously, I adore this fic with my whole heart! I have read it like seven times now and I will continue to come back to it when I need some choice whump in my life!! Thank you so much, my dear friend!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
