Yeah, No.2 and No.9 as depicted in the concert readings really interested me. No.2 always came across as a fusion of A2 and 2B for me (like the gentle moments she shares with Zinnia feels like 2B, whereas calling No.9 a stalker screams A2's personality.) We know that A2 was actually quite warm and friendly towards her peers before as well, so having a friendly companionship with others felt appropriate.
Whereas No.9 is more intense, always pushing his boundaries both in terms of information and personal space.I kinda see him representing the darker aspects of the No.9 model; vengeful, possessive and calculating. Not to mention how his personality solates him from others, prompting him to be clingy with the one model he does strike a bond with.
I agree it would be interesting to explore the relationship he had with No.2 a bit deeper, as I do believe that she really cared for him, but their relationship, like all the other iterations, is both doomed and dysfunctional.
Glad you like the No.4 inclusion. It's actually super tragic that No.9 deceives her in the YoRHa Boys prologue by making her believe No.2 is in danger in her descent unit. So I headcanoned there was a little more going on in their relationship.
We never really get an insight into how No.2 feels about the revelations, but like 2B, I feel that her interests are primarily in the immediate safety of those she loves. Once she secures Zinnia's exit, she resigns herself to her fate, having lost everything she ever cared about.
