  1. Oh boy, this is going to be interesting.

This is a really interesting premise, and I can’t wait to see more of it! Seeing innocent, young Caduceus answering Ikithon and Hass’ questions so earnestly, knowing what’s likely to come next, was heartbreaking. 🥺 The fact that he picked up on Hass’ nature though was interesting- I’m looking forward to see what a Caduceus shaped by these circumstances becomes like.

“But he was certainly kinder than Ikithon, and he knew enough of Ikithon’s methods to dislike the thought of young, soft things subjected to them. He still did nothing to stop it.” -and at the end of the day, that’s what matters. Your portrayal of him as an infuriating character in that way works really well here.

I really liked this so far! Thanks for sharing it with us. I’m really excited to find out more about this world.

    1. Thank you so much! Poor Caduceus - this is a very different trajectory for him.

A lot of this fic is going to be about imperialism and power and complicity, for which the Dwendalian Empire is just. a nightmare. The way Pumat Sol discusses Hass is very worrying, and the way Hass treated him as a kid does not seem good! He's personable, but is still very much a member of the highly-evil Cerberus Assembly!
