   This is really interesting. I’m trying to figure out if Tim is a robot that’s too human or a human that was experimented on and turned into a cyborg or something. I’m excited to get more of the world-building!

      It's been a while since I read The Murderbot Diaries (very much recommended btw), but I think I remember how SecUnits are constructed. However, that might count as spoiler-ish?... if you're happier trying to work it out from the current story, I'll keep my peace.

         It doesn’t count as a spoiler bc I’m not having it as a big reveal! SecUnits are constructs made with a mix of human parts grown from DNA and robotic components. In the Murderbot Diaries, constructs are considered dangerous and owned by private companies.
