Yes! I read that, and loved the term Ballerina Hitler. Very well played! Again, I pretty much agree with everything you wrote - as you said, it's the Legend of KORRA, not the Legend of Kuvira (or the Beifongs. Or the air bender kids. Or whomever). After Legend of Korra, it should be Legend of Korrasami. Seriously, do they even know their primary audience? Ah well.
About Turf Wars - I think it should have been more fluff, less plot (especially because the plot was lame). I'm with Korra getting angry at Tonraq with his 'what would the neighbours say?' bullshit, but then I don't think Tonraq would ever have said that in the first place. I really think the comic did him and the Southern Water Tribe dirty with that. Back to the plot - even with the spirit upgrades, there's no way that security hired by Asami fuckin' Sato, as well as the melee queen herself, should ever have been taken out by that triad chump. Like, not a chance.
Also (I guess I need to reread it to be sure), but didn't Korra have trouble finding Asami, so she had to go to the other triad for help? Um, hello! Post-Book 4 Korra is basically a walking, talking, goofy weapon of mass destruction, who had no trouble finding Wu when he was being kidnapped. Why the nerf?! Yes yes, needed so there would be some sort of plot, but the plot sucked! Though Mako's reaction to finding out about Korrasami was well done, and Kya being queer, as well, was great, so the comic wasn't a total loss.
And yes, the youtube reading of the comic by J&S was amazing!
Are you Polish, if you don't mind me asking? I think I read somewhere else you saying that English isn't your first language, which, I must say, is bloody incredible. I am, sadly, North American-standard unilingual.
Exactly, one would think they know their core audience. And seeing how I've heard rumours that the new comic will be Mako-focused...
Back to the plot - even with the spirit upgrades, there's no way that security hired by Asami fuckin' Sato, as well as the melee queen herself, should ever have been taken out by that triad chump. Like, not a chance. - it gets better than that (and by better, I mean worse). Tokuga took down KORRA with his chi-blocking hentai tentacle. Yeah, post-season 4 Korra.
Did you see Korra's (Janet's) proposal to Asami (Seychelle) on YT? It's adorable!
Yup, I'm from Poland, the bastion of homophobia in Europe -_- (don't get me wrong, I actually like my country, but some aspects of it...)
Hentai tentacle - ha! I mean, I get why Korra fighting is hard to write, because she is so powerful... But if I can do it, why can't official writers?
I thought I did, but now I'm not sure! Well, I will have watched it by the end of today, if nothing else.
Yeah, unfortunately, lots of countries are going in the wrong direction for minority rights. I like Canada, but we have our share of genocide deniers, pro-fascists, homophobes, etc etc etc. Including in politics, though not in the ruling party, at least. For now. Sigh.
Yeah, we already discussed Korra's enemies having plot armour but least in the series I thought it was done well. Amon was, well, Amon and she was hiding from him, not fighting, Unalaq had Vaatu, Zaheer forced Korra to surrender herself and poisoned her and with Kuvira Korra was fighting her PTSD too.
Yup, sadly in Eastern Europe those rights aren't feeling that great :/
Also, as I've mentioned in a couple of disclaimers - I don't hate Mako. I like his character, flaws and all and think that while everyone (rightly) loves Zuko's character development, Mako has an interesting one too but a more low-key one, going from the season 1/2 jerk to "I've always got your back" in season 4. It's just... I wouldn't mind getting Mako comics, just like I wouldn't mind Mako-centric episodes. It's just... we're getting what? A comic every two years? It's a pity to waste this comic on... anything other than Korrasami, really.
And I also want the comics to sell well, because market economy and shit and I want more Korra stuff to be published and I'm not sure a Mako comic will sell that well.
Yeah, I like Mako, too, but a Mako centric comic? I just have my doubts that's what people who are still LoK fans want the priority to be, especially with how little new content there is.
