    Clone Conan! It's been rolling around in my head for FOREVER and I finally put my fingers to use and wrote it out! I'm glad you enjoy the concept, I wasn't sure anyone would 🫶

    Shin'ichi and Conan being brothers is one of my favorite AUs to come out of this fandom, I love the idea of Shin'ichi just seeing smaller version of him and going "Anyone gonna adopt him? No?" and adopts him while not waiting for anyone else to respond (KaiShin has been one of my favorite ships since the start, these two are NOT related Aoyama-sensei, c'mon)

    Agasa Hiroshi is the only adult that Shin'ichi fully trusts in this story, because he is the one man who has been there for forever. Shin'ichi can trust him, Conan can trust him, even when the Black Organization is after them

    Conan absolutely admires Shin'ichi and puts him on a pedestal! I'm so glad you noticed that fact! Conan will definitely grow into his own person as the story progresses, but for now, Conan is clinging onto whatever is familiar right now, because he's just SIX and he's a kid. Shin'ichi is older and more mature and definitely someone he admired in the lab

    SHIN'ICHI IS EARNING THAT PROTECTIVE TAG!! He runs into murders daily after coming to them for a bit, and he doesn't want that for Conan. And if the cycle does continue with Conan, Shin'ichi wants his little brother to have some protection

    You're 100% correct in that's the reason Shin'ichi couldn't follow Gin and Vodka in this AU! The B.O. is way too aware of Shin'ichi, far too aware of the fact that they need him alive and that he's smart, It took everything out of Gin and Vodka to evade the Modern-Day Holmes for the meet-up, but they did it, and we don't have TWO Conan's running around
