Comment on Trust and Maintenance

  1. This is the sexiest thing I've ever read in my life, and I've read quite a lot of erotica. Thanks for the new kink 😅.

If you don't mind me asking - was Tim doing a repair after something got damaged, or was this more of a long term maintenance type situation? And did Tim suggest it first, or was Jason the one to ask? I am so curious about how they got to this point from where it started. The implicit trust Jason is showing... Or is it just lack of self-preservation instincts?

    1. skljdhsfkl I think that might be the best compliment I've ever received omg

Ok so, the way the scenario goes in my head is that it's kind of routine maintenance. With the type of work they do he winds up sustaining a lot of damage and a lot of the time he just can't be bothered to do full repairs, as long as he's functional he can deal with it. Paragon of healthy living right there.

So Tim and Jason hang out sometimes, their relationship is getting better, a little less contentious, and they're discovering that it's actually nice to spend time together.

And maybe Jason bitches about how annoying it is that androids were designed by humans who didn't really stop to consider that they might want to repair themselves rather than go to a human technician, so some things Jason genuinely can't reach (not without a lot of hassle). Or maybe Jason makes a casual comment off-hand like "oh no, X thing hasn't worked in ages but I never got around to replacing it"

Tim, unsurprisingly, is a little concerned that Jason is basically living with debilitating levels of chronic pain that was totally preventable. So he offers to help out if Jason wants. He blurts it out without thinking, without considering that Jason might be offended, or that he probably doesn't want ANY humans near his circuitry much less a bat.

Jason goes real still, staring at Tim with an unreadable expression and Tim wonders if he pushed too far, if Jason is going to tell him to get out and never speak to him again or maybe just rip his throat out now for the offense but--

But then Jason says "Okay," Still unreadable but not violent, not aggressive. "Yeah, okay" He repeats "if you think you can handle it" and there's the smirk, the provocation, and Tim can finally breathe a sigh of relief.

... I was not intending to dump a mini-fic in your lap lmao sorry(?) about that

      2. Ohoho I love it. And then there would be that moment of Tim opening him up for the first time and understanding the severity of the damage, and how much of it was deliberately done to cause pain, but obviously he's not going to react and risk scaring Jason off...

        1. Yess, the vulnerability of it all and Tim realizing that he's one of the only humans that Jason has willingly let near him since he died,,,
Jason is just waiting for Tim to hurt him somehow, and is sort of disconcerted when he doesn't do anything
