Comment on The Creeping Madness Of Charlie Lonnit

  1. Totally agree, Chris was a woefully underutilized character. Shame, he could have such an impact on that game and helped the writers to fill in a few plot holes. Clooney and Firth yes, but Brad Pitt never really did anything for me. I'm more of a Jeremy Renner girl. Oh, now I think of it, there's Hancock/Dance. I like the idea of the charming Hancock helping Dance to be less of a dick. Then there's Jonathan/Geoffrey from Vampyr. I know that game had its issues, but the relationship between Jonathan and Geoffrey always struck me as far more realistic and developed than Jonathan's one with Elisabeth.

    1. That's always it, isn't it? The side pairings/characters are always so much more appealing or have more chemistry than the main "true" ship. I don't know why directors don't just lean into it and finally give us what we want!!

      1. Because that would be simple, helpful, and end a lot of queer-baiting. Besides, if the gave us what we actually want, there wouldn't be as much cause for fanfiction. I mean, look at Supernatural. Cas FINALLY admits he loves Dean, they have a sweet moment, and then it all end faster than it started. Fans had been longing for that scene for years, then it was brushed over halfheartedly.

        1. Oh my fucking God, I remember that! It was a whole shitshow, how they handled that, like wtf? Finally got what we wanted but at what cost? It's like they were punishing us for shipping them in the first place... (tho I've always shipped Dean with Crowley more than Cas, but Dean/Cas is cute too!) I think the best one they did was Nimona, their relationship felt organic and didn't end in tragedy. Everything else is either trashy porn without plot, lackluster and thrown in the background, or just a last minute gotcha moment before tragedy strikes like with Dean/Cas. 🙄

          1. Destiel was one of my main ships for years. Years! I had two seconds of omfg it's happening and then nothing. Those characters deserved far more. Still, fanfiction does exist and, if writers won't give us what we want and the characters deserve, then we may as well do it ourselfs. lol

            1. Too true. Fanfiction is probably one of the best ideas ever invented. 😤👌
