I totally understand where you're coming from. I adore the original fic (it was like a fanfiction version of a warm hug), but as I was writing, I just couldn’t help but add my own little touches here and there. I really wanted to expand on some parts that I felt could be fleshed out more and, yeah, change some things I personally wasn't crazy about.
I never meant for it to feel like a "copy-paste" situation, so I’m really grateful you see the tweaks, especially with Kara and Black Siren’s conversation. I’m all for taking inspiration, but I also want to make sure it’s something that feels mine as much as it can be.
I’ll definitely try to keep pushing myself to make it more original moving forward. Thanks again for the comment and for reading! Hope you like upcoming ones :)
