I'm so glad you see my vision with this! In canon the burglary and dismissal just pissed him off and made him defensive but with all this pain and suffering, he's just a shell of his former self :( And no Viktor to pull him back this time...
Also YES! I love their sibling relationship too and wanted to explore it more in this fic. I had to remind myself in this chapter that she's only like 15 so; no matter how tough of a teenage she is, there had to be a breaking point and her dreams are just as shattered as his. These poor sibs but I swear I'll give them both happy endings <3
You're so right with the parents here! Haha I hadn't even considered that they're all in the council hall at the same time basically begging for honor and justice for their kids. In spite of their differing standings in society, they're all united on a similar front with this.
