What do you mean forshadowing.. (sweats as i reread everything again looking for hints as to what is to come bc I clearly missed something amazing). All of your symbolism is insane and I catch some (hopefully most?) of them. How Artemy and Daniil are complete opposites in nearly every single regard but they are exactly the same, especially when trying to save the town, caring about people, etc. Its actually beautiful how these two are literally yin and yang. Even before pathologic I swear bull and snake were like opposites in a way? How the snake bite can kill a bull (of course depending on the species, etc) and how the bull can trample the snake, but neither want to go near one another to risk anything. Something like that I think.
If you do want to include translations a good way to do it is a the chapter end notes, especially since you dont do a lot of them it wont really fill it up but it will help us, the reader, understand a bit more about the world youre building up.
bones and clay is akin to earth and structure. every metaphor is beautiful, and people will always find some symbolism in anything. short daniil toting big ass ripper around. like... meow. especially when you detailed drunk daniil leaning against artemy, so any attack from a mugger would be suicide. i just picture that meme of daniil going up to a register saying "he asked for no katchup" and you look behind this scrawny nonthreatening guy to see this very pissed off dark auraed man. i feel like daniil and artemy would 100% be the strengths for one anothers weaknesses. for daniil something wouldnt be a big deal, but artemy would go out of his way to assist him and vice versa. (squints) wait isnt this the heart thing in pathologic.. im detailing that bit.. whoops.
im rambling now but youve gotten me thinking about these two idiots. is this a curse or a blessing?
