    first of all, i’m sorry for the long cliffhanger 🥲 part 2 is coming soon i swear!!!

    also thank you so so so so much for such a thoughtful and kind comment! i think the du lacs are sort this mirror of the american colonial spirit of taking what serves you and ignore the rest, so of course they mostly understand the rules of the game but still, being so young, are holding on to the pieces of humanity they associate with good breeding and polite society like sleeping in beds and living as a family. they’re a funny little group but imagine the nightmare of living with your family forever by the rules you were made to follow as a child…. i feel for those siblings.
    and yes both louis and lestat are so bad at this, communicating being honest and vulnerable is so difficult and yet…. i think they’re doing their best 🥲🩷
