    With each update, it feels like the story drifts further and further from the source material, almost to the point of being unrecognizable. While creative liberties are expected in fanfiction, the fundamental spirit and established lore of the original work feel completely disregarded, alienating readers who came for a specific connection to the canon. It raises the question of why this needed to be fanfiction at all if it diverges so drastically. Maybe it's time to consider if your ideas have outgrown the constraints of this particular fandom and if they would be better served as an original work, allowing you true creative freedom without the baggage of established expectations.
