your characterization and banter is absolutely glorious.
"You think everyone hates you or has some bias against you because of your reputation," Clark said, forcing his tone into something calm, and sickly-kind. It was the sort of ‘oh, honey, no’ that was perfected by older church ladies. He dropped the whole pretense immediately and spat out, "but actually everyone hates you because you're a fucking dick," before turning his whole body away from him and curling against the window.
this was very much one of my favorite bits so far. I just love the petulance but also underlying constant of clark and bruce being unstoppable force versus immovable object, two men who are equals in terms of agency and strength of character but inevitably grate against one another in a way you write so naturally, never overly aggressive but genuinely entertaining.
“only one room” had me howling. feels exactly like the superman batman annual #1, and I was WAITING on bruce having a nightmare. tried and true classic plot point for bruce. love it
