Comment on Crybaby: Aftercare

  1. That first section is so entirely raw and feels all-encompassing. The way you describe his feeling of death is haunting. The nothingness. The lack of concept of time. The feeling that he vaguely remembers who he was until he starts to recall those feelings that he had in life. Just very nice work all around with that section.

The second section with its line about remembering how to be Bertolt adds a layer of hope to the passage.

When you describe him as a “passenger” in the Titan, it adds to the horror. You describe him knowing that the Titan is crushing things in its fingers and feeling the blood run down, but there’s nothing he can do about it. How completely traumatizing.

You wrap this chapter up so nicely, with the feeling of him truly coming back to life in the Colossal and being able to help again. It’s a stark transition from what we saw at the beginning of this. You connect him back with the other characters and set up for future chapters with that final statement. He’s got a question about Armin and I’m super curious to see what it is!

    Well done!
