Summary
A canon divergence that starts at the beginning of 12x19. Just after Castiel returns from heaven, but before he can make it back to the bunker, Mr. Ketch intercepts him and spirits him away to the BMoL HQ to be questioned and experimented on personally by Mr. Ketch. The Winchesters, having no idea where Castiel has been since his disappearance, find him during their raid on the BMoL. After everyone against them is taken care of, Dean brings the catatonic Castiel back to the bunker to clean him up and try to bring him back to consciousness. Dean only has a vague idea of what Castiel has been through, but to the best of his ability, he will try to help Castiel through his trauma. His concern for his best friend's mental state begins to override any reservations he originally had in regards to their "profound bond" and Dean's need for "personal space."
