The pattern of black residue speckled with white ash isn’t dissimilar to the pattern of white hairs salting his dark hair, although it also wouldn’t be surprising if it were actually ash in his hair with the amount he smokes. “Then I can assume you wish to take this contract?”

Ajax started working for The Fatui at 14, and now at 25, you could say he's a veteran in the bullshit they put him through. Until he's assigned to be the bodyguard of a literal god who's being chased down by an organization he knows very well. Now he has to pose as Zhongli's boyfriend while trying to figure out why The Abyss is targeting him in the first place while trying to survive the attempts on both of their lives. And possibly falling in love.
In other words, Ajax fakes a relationship with Zhongli and has to survive what is essentially a slasher film but slightly less slasher. And then they fuck.

A deep growl rumbled in Zhongli’s chest, his eyes bearing down on Ajax. He simply pointed to the floor between his legs as he sat on the couch. It was an expectation that Ajax would follow the simple instruction. Ever eager to please (and to see what Zhongli was about to dish out to him), Ajax scurried between the former god’s legs and positioned himself on his knees in front of him.
Shedding his gloves and setting them on the cushion beside him, Zhongli ran clawed hands through ginger locks. A soft pet, coercing Ajax to settle down a tad. Ajax leaned into the tender touch, his shoulders relaxing a bit as Zhongli hummed softly. The ginger felt like it was only them in the entirety of Teyvat at that moment.
