The sounds of the rain outside, landing heavily on his window. Like little drumming melodies lulling him into a simpler state of mind. Just like the drops of rain, his eyes felt heavy too. Nose flushed and rosy from having rubbed at his face to try and will away the exhaustion. He had been working in the office for hours. It was a freaking Saturday. Not even Gus was doing the same thing. But he was so tired. So ready to sleep. Midnight seemed like a full day away still. So with the sunlight fading faster and faster by the dark clouds rolling in, the thunder beginning to rumble and roar outside, he let himself find the cool compress of the mattress. The soft comfort of his pillow. The warm encompassing feeling of a blanket across his chest and keeping the rest of his body covered, Shawn let the sounds outside help him drift off into slumber.
