Summary
Alexandra "Alex" Cabot was abandoned by her family at 16 after she's outed as a lesbian. She forged her own life by getting a job at a local inn and working her way up the ranks. A staple of her life for over a decade has been Olivia Benson, owner of Liv's Diner and definitely not the love of Alex's life.
At 27, Alex got a call that her sister was arrested and lost parental rights, forcing Alex into a situation where she is left as the legal guardian of her niece, Alexandra "Andy" Cabot. Alex will do pretty much anything for Andy, and that commitment is put to the test when she needs to ask her parents for money for Andy's school.
For emotional support thinly disguised as a prank, Alex asks Olivia to accompany her to her parents' house as a date. Problems and revelations ensue.
