When Kai suddenly finds himself face to mask with the angry Architect, his first reaction is to grasp the sides of the slightly taller man's face firmly, pushing back to keep him from leaning any closer.
Merlot makes an odd, strangled sound and stops moving. "Commodore! What the hell do you think you're doing?!" His hands fly up, assuming a threatening position above Kai's wrists, but there's an odd breathiness to his voice.
Kai finds himself unwilling to release Merlot, even with the silent threat. His fingers slip a bit further forward, slipping under the strap of the mask and up by Merlot's ears, the Architect's short brown hair tickling his fingertips. He feels the slight shudder that runs through Merlot's body at the touch.

After learning that Architect Merlot answers not only to the Assassin Syndicate, but the Order of Aesir as well, the Player seeks revenge. They want to tear Merlot’s world to pieces…
Fortunately for them, Merlot’s world happened to be a person. What better way to break a man, than to trick him into destroying the one thing he cares about most?
Basically: Player kidnaps Commodore Kai, and an infuriated Merlot attempts a rescue mission. This rescue mission does not go well.
