Kumandra is devastated. Reconstruction moves slowly, and a Commission of humans and dragons has been established to enhance cooperation and peace between nations.
But the atmosphere remains tense: Namaari has to fight her guilt to restore her nation's honor; Raya has to navigate through political games, a rebellion, and her past; and Sisu is trying to break free from ancient chains.
All the while, a new threat arises when dragons start to disappear, spreading fear and mistrust, menacing to destroy the precarious balance and bring the world down into a new era of nothingness. -

There was a period of time where the two of them were inseperable, brought together by their love of dance. But that was the past and things had not ended well between them. Now years later, brought together by the relationship of their best friends, Namaari and Raya find themselves entering each others lives once again. The more they find their paths crossing, the more they must learn to navigate their interaction, dancing around one another both figuritevly and literally as Sisu asks them to help her with a project.

"So what happened?" Sisu questioned, her tail flicking slightly with curiousity as they sat down and ate the buffet spread in front of them.
"What do you mean what happened?" Raya replied, hands darting around to create her Miang Kham wrap meals, "I was betrayed, poisoned, a bunch of people tried to steal from me, and I met a bunch of binturis. Humans are cruel."
"Oh... Oh but everything is better now right?"
"I don't think so."

What happened during those six years that turned an excited, idealistic princess into a distrustful warrior full of pain and misery? Why was Raya always worried about being poisoned from some food even from a kid like Boun? And how did Namaari cope with what happened? How much did Fang benefit from the fall of the rest of the world to make Namaari risk killing Sisu for the gems to be in Fang's hands?
Story picks up a bit after Raya watched Chief Benja turn into stone.

she regrets it the moment it leaves her mouth.

After one of Sisu's brothers is left behind at the altar at his wedding, he's at a loss about what to with the plane tickets he's already purchased for the honeymoon that will no longer happen. Raya and Namaari are both available, though, which is how the two best-friends-turned-enemies find themselves getting flown out to Thailand for two weeks. The two women have a rivalry (and lots of issues that need unpacking), and in a beautiful summer trip that spans from Bangkok to Ayutthaya to Phuket, there's no way they're going to find themselves falling in love. Or so they think, anyway.
